  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Interesting. I am going to reserve judgement until I hear who takes over. There is no denying that Brian got much better as the season went on, but he still was no Dave Wills. But good luck to Brian no matter where he lands. The bolded section is one of the best things about Dolgin IMO.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Yes. Note to self: Be VERY nice to Steff until at least April 4th....
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) A friend of mine told me I had to see this match between AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Christopher Daniels, I watched it and my god it was amazing. Haven't watched WWF in years and havent watched wrestling at all probably since WCW started to suck but that match was unreal. They usually have a match of that approximate quality on every PPV. A few too many matches ( especially the Ultimate X matches ) turn into clusterf*** spotfests, but they've gotten better lately at developing storylines to build those matches around. Another guy who's pretty incredible to watch is Sonjay Dutt, he has put on some entertaining matches with Daniels and Styles as well.
  4. QUOTE(The Bones @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 01:46 AM) Anyone know exactly when the 13-game Ozzie plan goes on sale? I want to look into getting that deal to make sure I can go to some of the games I want. I was told late November/early December.
  5. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 11:39 AM) The McRib is a wonderful little beast. I hope it isn't gone for good. Just in case though, I plan on buying a few dozen and freezing them along with Ted Williams head for the better of the future. You're a weird dude, Kid.... I won't miss the McRib at all. That sauce was odd-tasting and the comparison to the McNuggets is right on the mark. That sandwich is an insult to all slaughtered pig carcasses everywhere!!! I would probably prefer eating Ted Williams' frozen head, at least it's not processed dead Red Sox slugger, like the McBuckner!!!
  6. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) I remember when Saturn, Milenko, Guerrero and Benoit all switched to the WWE. The monday night wars hit their pinnacle at that time, and these guys were a huge part of it. The WCW stole all of the old stars from WWE, and the WWE turned around and stole Jericho and company one by one. Too bad there isnt really a viable wrestling program that can rise up and actually go toe to toe with Vince McMahon. TNA could possibly be on the way to being that legit contender. They concentrate more on the actual matches and feuds and they're not trying to be a soap opera/sitcom. They have some decent up-and-comers like AJ Styles, Monty Brown and Team Canada. They've been picking up the right people when they leave/get released from WWE, such as Rhino, Christian, Gail Kim and Team 3D ( The Dudley Boyz ). With a good push from Spike TV and a little luck ( and a LOT fewer title reigns for Triple J aka Jeff Jarrett ), TNA could be what wCw was always too stupid, hokey and dollar-foolish to be.
  7. Good morning, folks, Might I suggest the Ignore Feature? I have found it to be delightful in the rare instance I have used it. It's delicious, fat-free and 100% natural!! It comes in two flavors, Shut Up and Go Away, and it's also handy for reducing headaches! The Ignore Feature - it's IGNORRIFIC!!!
  8. Where's the "none" option? I guess "other" can be none, although it suggests that I read one that isn't listed.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 08:27 AM) Thanksgiving is always interesting for me as my parents are divorced and usually I'll switch off years on who's family I spend the holiday with. The problem is neither I or my parents usually remember who I was with last year. So to answer the question I have no clue what I'm doing this year. I smell a coin flip!!! I'll be at the Mom-In-Law's this year. My wife's family lives in The Land Of Cheese And Beer, so we alternate where we spend each Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year it's Thanksgiving up there and Christmas down here.
  10. QUOTE(smalls2598 @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) Back in 2000, i went to Raw with some friends at the Rosemont Horizon; afterwards we went to Bennigans on Cumberland. We were just about to leave, and in walked Guererro, Dean Milenko, Chris Beniot and the other guy (i don't recall his name). We asked for a group picture, but only Guerrero and Beniot agreed to take part. Anyways, I stopped watching the WWF when it became the WWE; and although I was never a big fan of Guerrero, I always appreciated the fact that he took the picture with us. RIP Eddie. Perry Saturn? Bald head, lazy eye? That guy was a total cock.
  11. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) R.I.P. He was one of my favorite wrestler's. I bet it was from 'Roids though. Vince McMahon(according to Rowdy Roddy Piper) made some guys take them. Well, I'm guessing that the days of VKM "making" guys take roids are long gone, after he was tried for roid distribution years ago, but I don't doubt that he turned a blind eye to them. More likely IMO is that Eddie died from the harm he had done to his body over the years. More of a cumulative effect than a direct one, if I had to guess.
  12. Man, this sucks. Eddie was always one of my favorites. He was funny, he could be a great serious heel, and he was a really solid, believable worker. He was the same age as my wife - FAR too young to leave a family behind. No cause of death determined as yet, but I fear that his years of self-abuse caught up with him. Vaya con dios,"Papi", rest in peace, "homez".
  13. QUOTE(gosox41 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 08:36 AM) It's a very smart move for the Twins (or any team) to sign Frank. He can probably be signed for $3-4 mill plus incentives. If healthy he'll out up a .400 OBP and hit 40 HR's. If not healthy, it'll cost a team about $3-4 mill. There's a lot of upside making it a good risk for most teams. On the flip side, what do I do? Frank is my all time favorite player and will always be. I have Thomas jersey and if he switches teams, I'd by his jersey even if it said Twins on it. Is that wrong? Bob Nope, it's not wrong. I hope Frank stays, but if he leaves the Twins would make sense for him. I'm sure he'd much rather go to a team that is in contention than go somewhere like Tampa.
  14. QUOTE(TLAK @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) Be careful what you wish for, you might get it. I personally miss the days when the White Sox were our little secret. 16,000 is the ideal attendance. You could go to a game on whim, show up 15 minutes before first pitch, park within 100 yards and buy great seats at the gate. You could get from your seat to the can and back between innings. You could pick up your brat / polish / kosher on the way and still not miss a pitch. You could keep your coat and stuff in an empty seat. You could tell the beer vendor what inning you want him to come back. If somebody blocked your view, or was just obnoxious, you could just slide down the row. Life was good, life was good… Yeah, that was nice, but this is nicer: CHICAGO WHITE SOX - YOUR 2005 WORLD CHAMPIONS Attendance problems in trade for world title? I'll make that trade 11 times out of 10.
  15. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) You think he signed a pre-nup this time? No, but he DID sign another "diminishing skills" clause....
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) Check his post ASG numbers. .237/.300/.387-- He had way better numbers than JD in the first half, but was brutal in the second. That's why I said he was on the decline.....
  17. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) Good for the Card fans! Good for Rooney! I am happy that it was reported that the Sox want an ex-player to step in. That means it WON'T be North. I actually kind of (slightly) like North in small doses, but I could NOT imagine him calling a game. I like my dose of North to be so small that it's completely non-existent. Honestly, if I even hear a second of him on a commercial talking about some business being "MYE GUYSSSSSSS" I want to vomit.
  18. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) Sorry, I should've included or something. I wasn't being sarcastic. Oh, okay.....unless you're being sarcastic about NOT being sarcastic.... s***, now I'm too confused to be pissed off....if I should even BE pissed off.... I'm gonna go lie down....
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) Jeromy Burnitz is icky. He did a decent enough job for that non-championship Chicago team, but he's on the decline and is a strikeout factory.
  20. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) Uhh.. yea.. "but if we want top talent, we're going to have to contribute to it in this way." Look, I need to add something that I don't think anyone's touched on yet: The ONLY way the Sox are going to be able to afford the VERY BEST PLAYERS is to get additional revenue, and that revenue may have to come from a price increase. In other words, fans are going to have to be a contributing factor in this process. I CANNOT stress this enough, and quite frankly I'm shocked that no one's mentioned this yet in this thread. Did I forget the green? ooooopsy.....
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) I remember the days oF Rodman when you put something cold in the cup, his hair would change color. Those were the days...... They should have made the Sox cup where when you pour something cold in it a "censored" bar pops up over Ozzie's mouth.
  22. Yeah, it's pretty crappy. It looks faded and the cup is made of reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally thin plastic. I have a little "geek shelf" with some ballpark cups ( All-Star game and such ) and that cup won't find a home on the shelf.
  23. was that a depiction of the level of support for the war on terror?
  24. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 09:25 AM) 1. That thing is pretty friggin' cool. 2. It looks NOTHING like Godzilla though, unless you are using that movie made in 1998 that used the name Godzilla, but was clearly NOT a Godzilla movie. Who would expect me to come in here with these comments? I was surprised that you weren't the first response!
