QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) What a clubhouse cancer If his team loses, will they consider him a ringside cancer? Or a corner cancer? I think this is pretty damn funny. TNA is such a hick operation. They remind me of the old Southern federations like the USWA, UWF and WCCW. Oh, and the 6-sided ring is retarded.

QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) There really is no pressure on the cubs...their stupid f***ing fans will still fill their crappy ballpark, even when the cubs are 10 games out in May. True enough, but if ( when ) the Sox start making annual runs at the playoffs, the tide will shift. There is some pressure on the Cubs to get *THERE*, especially since they came sooooooooooo clooooooooooooooose a couple years ago. The Sox winning it all raised the expectation level amongst KNOWLEDGABLE Cub fans ( yes, they exist.....YES, they DO......YES.....ENOUGH!!! ) The smart Cub fans I know ( YES, THEY DO.....STOP IT!!!! ) are not all that impressed with the Cubs' offseason thus far. Even if Furcal is their "big fish", they tell me that they'd rather see the Cubs deal Korey Patterson, acquire some starting pitching depth and increase team speed and defense ( SOUND FAMILIAR?? heh heh ). The Centennial approacheth, and no Cub fan I know wants to celebrate 100 Years Of Futility. ( Oooooooh, now THAT would make a nice t-shirt design..... )

QUOTE(AirScott @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) currently, they have no left-handed relievers on their roster, so I'd think they'd go for it. Good point, but the Sox would be down to Cotts if Marte was dealt. I'm not a minor-league guru, so I have no idea if any lefty relievers ( or starters like Cotts was ) are ready to contribute soon. Any lefty arms growin' on the farm?

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) Yes but I am saying Kenny would've never done it even if he didn't get hurt. At least IMHO. I don't believe that Kenny would let personal spite ( if it exists ) override his business sense. If Frank Thomas was the best option for DH that the White Sox had, I think he'd have been signed. It ultimately comes down to winning games.

I had faith that Paulie would be back, and I don't think the Sox overpaid by much. Although I wonder how we're going to feel about this deal in 4 or 5 years. .....I'm not gonna worry about that now! I have back-to-back, lefty-righty bombs to think about!!!

Would the Nats do that straight up? Wonder what their interest level in Marte is?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) I'm on Metro's mailing list. Whenever shows don't sell out, they give the tix away to people on that list. Shhhh, don't tell anyone. Sadly, neither of the two Dino shows sold out. Bad news for them , great news for me. Hmmmmm.......... naaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I still wouldn't go. I'm either done with concerts or taking a break - time will tell. I can't even get "over the hump" to go see the mighty Beatallica at Subterranean on December 10th. And I'd love to see them.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) Metro, show up tonight. Give him one of your freebies and maybe he will! How did you get free tix, anyway? Someone connected to a radio station, or Metro?

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) --Galumpki. Usually sits within my refrigerator for weeks before my dad (only person willing to eat it) finishes the entire meal. BLASPHEMY!!!!!! Galumpki, when done right, is a wonderful thing!!! When done wrong, well......it can sit in a fridge for weeks.....

It's wonderful that Frank got a ring, and it's a damn shame that he couldn't swing the bat at least once in the World Series for the White Sox. I hope Frank catches on with someone ( PLEASE not an AL Central team, though ) and I REALLY hope he gets his 500 bombs and Hall Of Fame induction. to THE GREATEST OFFENSIVE FORCE the White Sox have ever known!!!! BATTING THIRD FOR THE WHITE SOX.....THE FIRST BASEMAN........#35.....FRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANK THOMASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) I'm not a fan of TMBG at all. I think it's mainly his voice. But I have never understood their popularity. For me, it's the catchy melodies and humorous/clever lyrics. The nasal vocals actually fit well IMO. I generally don't worry too much about the singer's voice, unless it's someone like Justin Hawkins who turns an otherwise very good band into a bad joke. Most of the bands I like don't have what would be considered "good singers". Lemmy, for example, sings like a growling stomach, but fits Motorhead's style perfectly.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) Where you hangin tonight? Probably 3730 N. Clark, eh LMB? Although I must warn you, Tony - it'll cost ya $28.50 to get in and collect that beer! HEY! That's even more than the Beers Of The World stand charges!!!!

QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) My kids turned me on to TMBG. They're awesome. My kids have seen 'em live several times and even met them. They can be both humorous and, at least I think, musically very interesting. TMBG is NOT bad music. Funny, clever lyrics, occasional big guitar chords......and accordians......

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) I know the name, and which band you are talking about, but I have never heard that album! I will be tracking it down for sure now! Thanks for the tip!!! Worst album of all time: KISS - The Elder!!! Even they write it off to lots of drugs, and so does producer Bob Ezrin. It is so bad, it's the best! No green at all, I love the song "I" from The Elder. "World Without Heroes", on the other hand...... :puke

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) Saw Dinosaur Jr. last night and my head is still ringing. Mascis' guitar sounds like a jet on take off and sweet Lou is still an animal. They're just as awesome as ever. My only complaint is they went on at 10:00, played til 11:00, then did 2 encores and were done by 11:20. At least they played most of the 'hits'.....not that they ever really had any. I'm thinking about going back tonight for more abuse. Wow. $28.50 for a little over an hour? Not a great value, no matter how good they are. And they ARE very good, but still... Glad you had fun, though, and enjoy the second hour if you go tonight.

Champion's spoils: Sox sell out 2 sections
The Critic replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Glad to hear this. Now those scout seats won't be empty half the time, making us all look bad.... I just hope the people who bought those seats are sophisticated enough not to wave at the camera like retards with their cell phones stuck to their ears. God DAMN, that's annoying. -
I always thought if I ever won a huge lottery or something like that, I'd buy a rock nightclub and book all the bands Joe Shanahan SHOULD have been booking.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) Blink broke up and is no more. They've formed two different bands, Angels & Airwaves and Plus-44. Both should be great. This is why I don't want Metallica to break up. The thought of FOUR bands rising from the crapheap Pathetica has become is very disturbing.

He sure says "....for me...." and "like I said" a lot. It's better than "like" or "y'know". He looks damn good in that Sox jersey, though!

Seeing as how I was The Heartbreaker in every single previous relationship I ever had, I feel like I'm ineligible to participate in this Misery Circus. ....I voted "cheating partner".....that little $%#@&......although in another relationship I WAS the little $%#@&.....so I guess life evens it all out in the end......
