  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 08:07 AM) LMAO!!! My neice, who is also 5, just told Jim and I that she wanted us to take her to the Circus and not to bring her parents because they aren't "cool"... Kids are unreal today, aren't they? My little girl already has posters of Ashlee Simpson, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson and Green Day ( OMG, NOT THEM!!!!! ) on her bedroom walls, talks about "rocking out" to her CDs, and stuff like that. She's 5 going on 16. No wonder my hair is turning grey at light-speed.....
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 08:06 AM) ESPN sent an apology to a wrestling fansite, www.pro-wrestling.com "While some comments attributed to Colin Cowherd were taken out of context and are innacurate, we do apologize for a statement implying that Eddie Guerrero's death was steroid-related." ESPN couldnt even completely apologize Half-assed like everything else they do. Typical. Which part of "his death isn't newsworthy" or "who cares that he died" was taken out of context??? Stupid.
  3. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) Why do I get the feeling tomorrow you will be changing your screen name to "Cool Mom". LOL!!!!!! Hardly, man, HARDLY. I'm so freakin' out of touch with "the kids today" - my own daughter's favorite phrase lately is "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad, you're embarrassing me!!!!" ....she is FIVE, by the way............FIVE!!!!!!
  4. QUOTE(HighHeat45 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) The grocery store i work at still has San Antonio Spurs World Champion ones out. Im gunna have to look somewhere else. The Jewel by me has Spurs boxes, Pujols boxes and Kirk Gibson boxes. They also took down the display with the commemorative magazines, framed pictures, etc. Looks like Sox Fever has broken, huh.....
  5. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Can you put music from musicmatch onto an ipod? Or do you have to go through iTunes? I ripped some songs off CDs onto MusicMatch for my wife, exported the files into a folder on my PC and designated that folder as an acquisition folder for iTunes. Worked like a charm.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) And that's just by me... s*** where did my green keyboard go to??? Yeah, but those don't count cuz you were just padding your post count...
  7. QUOTE(Cali @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) Damn that is seriously the best concert DVD I have ever seen. Wow, those f***ers must put on a hell of a live show in person. One day I'll see them. And the title of the CD/DVD is explained in the non-concert footage on the DVD. When I went to the local Best Buy to pick this up, there were no al-Qaeda operatives or the Grand Dragon there encouraging me to purchase it.... The KKK and Al-Qaeda must have been out back having a smoke.... If you get the chance, DO go to see them. I've seen them twice, albeit a few years ago, and they do put on one hell of a show. Although I've rarely felt older at a show - I felt like it was me, my friend, a guy with a bald spot and 3,000 13-to-19-year-olds.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) Not so many articulate pro football players out there. Those college scholarships go to good use.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) I'm not saying a shower would.. but blood and semen and (debatable) saliva would (from studies I've read). A cut, a quick "alone" session, or spitting might be the stem of teammates concerns. I have no idea.. but to say their concerns are stupid.. is kinda... stupid. IMO, of course. I'm not saying his concerns are stupid, his statement was - IMO, of course.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) I think we censor two words around here. I think I've been called both of them. If they expanded the list to 20, I've probably been called all of those too....
  11. I never go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. That many people = instant migraine. We're 95% done shopping for the kid, and everyone else can get a gift card for all I care. Three years ago the Mrs. dragged me out there two days before Christmas, and I STILL take Advil over it. :puke is what I say about shopping in general, but especially this kind of nightmare.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) I'm taking liberty and assuming he took showers in that locker room. Hell.. half the time pro locker rooms are filled with half naked men playing X-Box... they have no shame. But even a shower wouldn't spread HIV, nor would playing naked Xbox ( Rated X-box? ). If he had voiced concerns about blood or something, that would be something I could understand, but if he really thinks a guy walking around a locker room is going to give him HIV, then I just think that's ridiculous.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) Legit concern in the bathroom area, no? I didn't read any mention of the bathroom area. He seemed concerned about the guy walking around and talking to the guys in the locker room. I'm just going by what he said. If he has concerns beyond walking and talking, he didn't get quoted on them.
  14. First off, I think Cowherd is a typical sports talk-show idiot. There must be a farm where they grow these dopes, they're all basically the same guy with the same voice and the same opinion. No matter what Eddie Guerrero did for a living, by all accounts the only person he ever damaged was himself, so why Cowherd felt the need to dismiss a man's death with the phrase "who cares that he died" is a mystery to me. If it's not newsworthy, then ignore it, jackass. Insulting a dead man for no reason other than what his job was is incredibly callous and disgraceful. And I guess their customer service line found out "who cares", didn't they? To me, the worst part about this Cowherd episode is that his bosses are probably going to look at the situation and think "Wow, did Colin ever get the phones to light up! There's a BUZZZZZZ out there about him now!!!!"
  15. Wow. Incredible that someone still honestly thinks that in 2005.
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) Seeing Batista crying like that, I was wondering if he was crying more for himself. You know, thinking maybe he might be the next guy to go because of steroids. That's an interesting take, but I didn't see it that way. Batista had recently been working with Eddie in an angle, so he'd been spending a lot of time with him. I'm sure they became friends and that's why I think Dave was crying. It seemed very genuine to me. EDITED to add that if I had to choose anyone in a Pro Wrestling Steroids Dead Pool, my choice would be Scott Steiner.
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 08:04 AM) I dont know if any of you watched RAW last night, but it was pretty sad. The storylines were pretty much thrown out the window, and everyone just wrestled. Everyone also had an Eddy Guerrero T-shirt on and a EG armband. There were interviews of all of his closest friends(Batista, Benoit, Rey, etc) and it was really sad. Batista cried like a little kid, I was honestly surprised. On a tremendously dissapointing note, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon read the same prepared statement, and came off sounding less than genuine(surprise, surprise) Yeah, it was pretty tough to watch. I expected Benoit, Rey and Chavo to have a tough time, and even Big Show since he seems to be the emotional type, but Batista breaking down surprised me a bit. Smackdown was taped on Sunday night too, so that show will also be a tribute to Eddie. Triple H's "tribute" kinda bugged me. He seemed to be very fake, and had no personal recollections. Just the standard "triumphing over his demons" thing, no anecdotes of his own interaction with Eddie. At least Stephanie seemed to feel for Eddie's wife and kids.
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 06:58 AM) PA, while I respect the sentiment, comparing a living human with the Bible, isn't quite accurate. I'm not defending Green Day, but I believe my God can handle the criticism. Even respected theologians differ in interpretations, so these yahoos have a different interpretation. So I say Good Riddance, I hope they have the time of their lives . . . and so it begins I know I'm probably a Nimrod and a Basket Case, and I may be in the Minority, but I don't see this as any kind of Warning of impending Misery, and while Billie Joe may be a Walking Contradiction, it's not like he's 2000 Light Years Away or anything. He seems to be Having A Blast and while he may seem Jaded or even seem to be a Jackass or a Chump, In The End he's probably just an American Idiot and he probably even goes to Church On Sunday.
  19. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) i watched a repeat late one night of TNA's broadcast and AJ Styles while a good wrestler, could very well be the worst on-mic persona i've ever seen in my life. Hold on just one minute!!! Before you make a statement like that, I submit to you THIS videotape: http://www.nwacyberspace.com/v2/index.php?...id=40&Itemid=74 Enjoy.....I know I did.....
  20. I'm voting for Local H in every CMA category, since Muchacha, Land Of The El Caminos and Naked Raygun are no more. Maybe I'll alternate my votes between The H, Rise Against and The Bomb ( Jeff from Raygun's new band ). ...I'm not actually going to vote....that would be participation, and I prefer to sit on the sidelines and criticize.....obviously....
  21. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) Im sorry I cannot include a verified link saying that this lady actually took the money for a gastric bypass, it seems that there isnt an official release that I can find as of now(and i have gone through plenty of google pages, let me tell you). But if you google "Trading Spouses + Crazy Lady + Gastric Bypass" you will see that every chatroom that discusses this show says that she took 20 grand to get a gastric bypass. TIFWIW. There was a graphic at the end of the show that listed the things her family had planned to do with the money, and then it said that she turned the money down. The gastric bypass was included in that list. In then said that she later "reconsidered" and accepted the money. The "dark-sided" money that came from "non-believers", I must reiterate. Is a hypocrite worse than a non-believer? Just asking.
  22. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) I was told that she turned down the money from the show initially, because they put her into a family of people who didnt believe in Christianity. Then she saw the check, changed her mind, and used it on a gastric bypass. Apparently there is a follow-up show on the way But....but.....but God WANTED her to weigh 400 pounds!!! It was God's PLAN! He made her a God Warrior.....a bloated, gap-toothed, obnoxious, nasty, foul, child-scaring, bellowing God Warrior who would live with another family and let another woman live in a home with her husband if someone gave her money. PLUS, the immoral reshaping of her body was paid for with DARK-SIDED money!!!! The heathen......
  23. I've never gone to spring training, I'd like to someday. It seems like a fun little road trip.
  24. Whenever I think of any trading that might need to happen, it's usually triggered by wondering if PK is going somewhere else. If he leaves, something needs to happen in my opinion. The Sox would seriously need a power bat at that point, and if Oz wants more speed, a new 2-hole bat or both in addition to a new power guy, then the logical way to acquire all that is through trades. The FA market isn't all that deep and that means guys will most likely be overpaid. The way to get guys and to know what you're paying them beforehand is by acquiring guys already under contract.
  25. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) A little off topic, but a few of my friends went to a Monday Night Raw last year when it came to Boston, and we all agree that the best showman is still HBK. The guy can just plain put on a show. Yes he can, and he seems to have matured A BIT when it comes to jobbing/putting over younger guys. He can still throw a colossal tantrum when the mood strikes, but he seems far less likely to "search for his smile" or "take his ball abd go home" than he was in his younger days. But this is one of the things they're going to miss about Eddie. He was willing to look a little bad to advance a feud, and he was very giving to younger guys, from everything I've read about him. I never knew anything about him personally other than what has been reported or rumored, but the reaction I've read from "the boys" shows that Eddie was loved backstage.
