QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) I've met The Critic. His softball team came in first this year. That count? But I have to admit, I was a total dick to The Kid. I wouldn't sign anything for him, and I was all in a rush to get away from him. I lost a fan that day, and for that "Aye Apolohye". And you DAMN RIGHT my team won the title!!! Our pitcher struck the final guy out LOOKING in extra innings with the tying run on 3rd and the winning run on 2nd for the championship. Every postseason game was a one-run win for us, with two playoff games going extra innings. Sound familiar???? and you know what? The beer really DOES taste better when you win!!!

88 years will build up some demand, it seems.... ...but....but....but I thought nobody in Chicago cared about this Sox victory????
-
.....it's also been found to be fatal for potential babies.....pass it on.....

Oh, and just to add something of negligable value to the thread: The only player I've ever met is 70's Sox outfielder Pat Kelly at a baseball banquet for an All-City Team I was on. Nice enough guy, but didn't really leave much of an impression on me.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 13, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) I've found that every time I post in one of these threads I get treated like s*** for a few weeks to follow. Oh, I thought you were busy alphabetizing your list and separating them by decade, position and throwing arm.....

But can you get in through both the front and rear entrance? ( Attempting to divert from mockery of my physique/hygiene to stupid, childish double-entendres )

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) I always liked Albert. I didn't care what the media said about him. I seriously always thought he was just a guy with a ton of talent, but didn't want the fame, and he always seemed like a pretty shy guy. Sometimes shyness can be mistaken for arrogance. I know this from a personal stand. I'm VERY shy and don't react in crowds well at all, or with the "spotlight" (unless I am on stage with my guitar strapped on). So I tend to run from people and situations, and for years in the bands people thought I had a bad ego problem. I saw that same thing in Belle, I always thought. And we better not get rid of Crede until we see if he did find the correction in his swing that would improve his game, as he claims to have done during his time off, and as we have seen since his return. I thought that your screaming "AM I THE ONLY ONE IN THIS BAND WITH TALENT????" was the reason they thought you had an ego problem?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) But with the odor eminating from it, they suspected an unauthorized landfill was operating there, and called in OSHA to check it as a Superfund site. I tried to work on that odor, but after that much time passes it just kind of seeps into the entire property....

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) Yeah did he let you drive? That was a good question. Did he let you play with the radio? But trick or treating? Come on, he must have been in his late 20s. He is not trick or treating. That is a bad question. Hey not many people know that Albert Belle is extremely smart. He received scholarship offers to go to both Notre Dame and LSU ACADEMICALLY. I believe he has an accounting degree from LSU, but I am not sure about that. Apparently this story has faded with time....and I'm not passing any kind of judgment on Belle, I was just poking a little fun at Steff is all.... to Steff: Albert Belle after nearly running over a trick-or-treating teenager who had egged the slugger's home in Cleveland on Halloween: "As soon as I caught up with him, I slammed on the brakes . . . The truck kind of skidded, and it slid and bumped him. He fell down . . . [then] he jumped back up and started running . . . It's a shame when people target athletes. If they had done the same thing to my next-door neighbor and he had chased them, they wouldn't have filed a report."

Did you guys go trick-or-treating together? Did he let you drive? I'm SORRY.....I had to......I just HAD to......

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) I think they thought you were referring to all that unused real-estate between your ears. No, that's the unfinished attic. Can we just make green mandatory for this thread?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) That was before the insurance company came in and declared you a total loss I tried to convince them that there was some value to my HUGE backyard, but they were unconvinced.....

QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) No no... it was TOTAL LOSER, not total loss. How DARE you!!!! :finger

I was going to try that myself, but both the house and I had to be listed as "fixer-uppers". They WANTED me to list myself as a "Handyman's Special", but I told them Homey Don't PLAY THAT!

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) I stopped at that stand Friday before WS Game 1 and was blown away by how much the guy wanted for the knockoff crap. He had some authentic ALCS stuff as well, but it was more expensive from him than it was a couple blocks down the road at Sports Authority. I'm not surprised at all. I never stopped there myself. Call me old-fashioned, or just old, but I like to have someplace to take the stuff back to if it falls apart on me after the first wash or whatever. I went to Sports Authority for my WS gear, and I paid a fair price. I know Kohl's knocked the price down on the stuff they still have in stock.

I think we all know what road this is headed down.... First the downloads get slower, then all we'll be able to DL is CLIPS of songs, then we'll get Kidster, the Kid Gleason PAY site...... Sellout......
-
Well, as the biggest ( only?? ) documented fan of The Kid in ALL his musical incarnations, I would go on far too long gushing about how good I think this stuff is. Suffice to say, I likey mucho! Especially the stuff with the kid - it's about time you got a PROPER vocalist!!!! Awesome as always, Kid!!!

83rd & Cicero, the stand is still up, with "SALE!" signs on it, so I'm assuming they won't be there much longer.
-
QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) I heard they'll be on sale by Soxfest. Here's the prototype. If you're pregnant: "Looks like thees keed ees haveen a keeed" If you're not: "No keed for thees keeed"

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) I'm not a good source for debate on this issue. Admitted baseball nerd here... See, I TRY to defend your honor and then you go and AGREE with the slanderer.... ...sometimes I wonder why I even bother....

What Sox championship memorabilia do you recommend

QUOTE(rbloom03 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) Anyone hear about Reebok Sox WS shoes? My mother-in-law read about it in the paper (probably Southtown). Don't know where they are available or what quantity. They no look so good........ -
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) I woke up this morning and had the Texas Legislature IN MY BED?!?! What the...? It's strange, cuz I thought government wasn't supposed to be in my house? I mean, there's my fiancee and there's Gov. Rick Perry right next to her. ^^^^^^^^^^ That's sarcasm. I voted against it, but I seriously considered kap's words when he said he didn't vote for or against because the government shouldn't be in our houses. WAIT JUST ONE MINUTE!!! Did you say FIANCEE????? You bed down your LADY out of wedded bliss???? Oh wait, that's not sinnin' - just them crazy homos wantin' to get hitched is sinnin'...
