He argued with Fegan, who I think asked the question, and Fegan had to reread the rule so the old guy could understand better. I don't know how you keep the clubhouse after these gaffe's. Managers usually mean very little - using the "wrong pitcher" in our opinion is a gaffe usually which has a small variance from expected outcomes. Not knowing the rules put Hendriks at risk on the bases, and then puts the team behind in their chance to win. Pretty amazing incompetence you don't see everyday.

They were in a position to score, but their manager decided he didn't think it was a good idea. They needed 1 run there. They put themself in a position to get one, and the manager removed that chance.

It would almost never be a smart play. Leading run is on 3rd base and you just made the second out at second base with the fastest base runner in the game standing at the plate. He wasn't getting doubled up. In that situation, the runner on 3rd was all that mattered in the moment. They were throwing through regardless there - I guess maybe not if you have some elite speed on 3rd but for most hitters they're throwing through there. I'm just amazed honestly. I can't believe it happened lol

That SB attempt was one of the most bone headed plays I've ever seen called for by a manager- assuming that was the case lol.

I think it was Larussa. Leury moved two pitches in a row. Id bet anything larussa had no idea the pitcher would be the guy on 2nd with his double switch - also dumb..then assumed they wouldn't throw threw because he's stuck in 1995. Lol

I am almost always more optimistic about the 25 than I am about the leadership of this organization. During the season, thr past year+ I am always more optimistic than most of the posters because these guys are good. During the off season I am always more pessimistic because leadership is complete trash and doesn't do enough to supplement these guys.
