  1. That home run giolito gives up in that commercial is with his new delivery so not 2018. That's always bothered me
  2. If that's the new "bad dylan, I don't have my good stuff" it would be a gigantic improvement
  3. My wife tried to say Crede wasn't a girls name but I would have none of that. We'll be watching our first game tonight. I'm sure she's napping so she can be well rested for the big night. Pretty stoked in general, been trying to get a dog for a few months but I've been a bit picky. No idea what she is since she's such a mutt she probably has about 20 breeds in her, but rescued her and she's got a personality much better than mine - which some soxtalk posters will be happy to hear ?
  4. Lol same. Missed Saturday game because out with family. Then Sunday I was gone most of the day getting this cute thing Crede - 11 weeks old and die hard sox fan clearly.
  5. I still think Madrigal can easily add a little power. The guy hasn't really been able to lift during the off-season as he was recovering from an injury/surgery. Even his last year at Oregon State he hurt his wrist which can zap power even more. He'll never be a big home run hitter, but I could see him hitting a few homers and a lot more doubles.
  6. 1. The narrative that he's brought Vaughn on well is complete nonsense; Vaughn's numbers were as good after 6 games as they are today. Vaughn needed reps, this is baseball. Reps are what make you improve. You can't take "notes" about how to hit a curveball. Vaughn's approach never faltered yet he was on the bench for complete bums. 2. Yermin Mercedes was NOT on the White Sox last year so how the FFF could Ricky Renteria have played him? Managers don't make the rosters, they make the lineup. LaRussa is playing Yermin because the Sox lost their star OF'er and he was forced onto the roster. Even you could pencil Yermin into the lineup after he had an all-time historical hot start. 3. Danny Mendick has literally played like 1 game in RF because - again - the Sox have 1000 injuries and he was forced out there. 4. He didn't embrace Vaughn at all, he has no choice but to play him. He still continues to let terrible hitters hit late in games with much better hitters on the bench. If Hamilton is Vaughn's Designated Fielder late in games when defense matters, why the heck is Collins or Vaughn not Leury/Hamilton's designated hitter late in games when offense matters? 5. National reporters have reported dissension yet you bury your head in the sand and say "there is zero evidence." I am still, after 50 pages, waiting for something GOOD Tony LaRussa has done for this team.
  7. Correct. Disagreements only become "arguments" when people get upset. At least that's what I have discovered. As for your first point, I'm not sure what that means lmao. Either I am getting too old or I'm just an idiot. Both aren't good! I'm not sure what subtweeting here is and we both know I never complain to moderators about things people on the internet say to me lol.
  8. And LaRussa is one of the worst managers in baseball, if not the worst. Me and Tony got something in common after all! I don't mention posters either, I respond to posts... weird. I also don't let posters on the internet get me so angry that I have to rage at them and block them. I stick to the topic that is being discussed and disagree/agree when I see fit. Aggro is telling posters to STFU and not talk to you, not responding to a posts content. Hope that helps!
  9. Show one source that says Vaughn is happy to sit on the bench. Also it is just hilarious to see this from you. All you did last year was blast Renteria every single day. He was the reason for all the failings . Facts: 1. Renteria's team outperformed expectations by much more than this team is. Renteria had 2 starting pitchers last year too. 2. Everyone had fun on the team last year; in fact, you were mad because they were having "too much fun" but now fun is great according to you and a sign of great management. 3. TA danced last year, Moncada smiled last year, everyone who pitched out of the bullpen was lights out. Yet last year all you did everyday was rip the manager. Now this year? Complete opposite and here you are citing reasons that were prevalent last year when you demanded the managers head.
  10. Man, you really just make things up. 1. Show a link that he is giving Vaughn "rest for additional film work between AB's" LOL 2. Hitting is a rhythm game, playing everyday has immense value for finding your rhythm and your place in the batters box. Sitting Vaughn constantly does nothing but harm that rhythm and his development. 3. Where has Tim said he enjoyed playing for him since the season started? 4. Jose Abreu would say he enjoyed playing for Terry Bevington - that's just who Jose is.
  11. This is also the point every citing lineup analysis is ignoring entirely. In Tango's research he is assuming you are starting your 9 best players and when he says lineup construction he means the batting order; not the personnel. Tony was legitimately starting lesser players nightly which has a much larger impact on expected runs. The batting order itself is relatively meaningless as sequencing is pretty non-predictive, but batting the WRONG players has a significant impact on runs scored over the duration of a season.
  12. To all the LaRussa stans in this thread, these questions still have not been answered in the endless back and forth: 1. What has Tony LaRussa done well in his time as manager? Just please name one or two things. 2. What is man management? Renteria had his teams playing their ass off every single night. It's May 10th and there have been multiple reports of the players asking WTF is this guy doing here. Is that man management lol? When Ricky was here, the bullpen was lights out. I still argue Ricky should have been fired because in the playoffs it looked like he was going to have a heart attack every time they showed him and you gotta be calm in those spots as the manager. 3. Where does LaRussa improve the team - in what facet? I see people in this thread giving LaRussa for playing Vaughn in LF - huh? He would sit his ass all the time for a guy that is not even in the big leagues anymore. He has let Billy Hamilton and Leury Garcia consistently hit in HUGE situations late in the game. He said he was looking for a single with the tying run at the dish in the 8th inning and 1 out. Would the Sox have won all those games? Obviously not. Could they have won one or two of them if their manager didn't insist on letting Billy Hamilton hit? Maybe. So... what has LaRussa done well?
  13. I think this has been stated ad nauseum but the results of this group of players will not change how bad Larussa is. Bad managers can win baseball games and World Series. This teams results will be in spite of their manager not because of him.
  14. This is the same poster who ripped renteria endlessly for every move he made. Meanwhile there was no mutiny or bad words spoken about him by players. This is exactly why you can't take these "positive" larussa posters seriously. And I've been as positive about the roster as anyone. Doesn't mean I have to be blind when discussing the idiocy that is Tony larussa.
  15. You've been doing this as long as I've been posting here, and this team hasn't been the "best" or "most talented" group in baseball... since I started posting here. This has been your shtick since day 1. Sox are real good this year, but there's a long way to go. Celebrating in May has never been something Sox fans should be doing.
  16. The saving grace of this season will be that the AL Central is bad and the AL in general is down. The Sox should be able to dominate this division (no mush) and beat up on a lot of bad AL teams. They're damn good, but they'll need Luis and Eloy come October (if they get there*) *have to add that given the historic track record of rooting for this team.
  17. I gotta ask, why do you post here on a baseball fan forum? All you do is cite, via your thoughts and opinions, a deferrel to what you deem to be professional authority. Everyone who's opinion disagrees with a coach or manager, you tell them how they're not employed in either profession so their opinion is meaningless. So again, why are you here if everything is meaningless and trumped by the decision making of these people you deem unflappable geniuses.
  18. You know what's tiresome about all your posts? They're usually slanted and riddled with absurd whataboutisms. Shut up, jaysus.
  19. Tim out here strutting that stuff picking up the load. I also want to bring attention to 7's defense this year. Guy said he would sure up the errors and inconsistencies this off season on that side of the ball and he's done exactly that. It has been underrated so far but he's been elite there this year. Guy just keeps getting better and better every single year, and the defense has been phenomenal this season.
  20. Missed the game for mother's Day stuff, can someone help me understand why kopech was pitching in an 8-1 game?
  21. What are his political views? Don't even know. To be honest, I was driving to get lunch and at a light. Read the post, didn't even see who it was from, replied and came back to see a post throwing a fit that I chose to respond to him. So in this case, yes. Sometimes you know I like to poke the bear, but sadly this wasn't even one of those cases.
  22. Hmm, maybe because I don't care who posts what and don't follow you around because you're posts aren't important to me? I don't care what your username is, you posted something that was incorrect and I corrected it. If you feel you're above that, and think you should post free of any commentary to the contrary of your viewpoint maybe you should consider not posting on public message boards? Again, this self inflated sense of importance you have about yourself really gets in the way of basic conversation. All I said was that that part of the post was wrong, and then corrected what LaRussa actually said; you've now gone on to write multiple posts getting oddly defensive and making this a personal vendetta in your brain despite nothing personal being exchanged from my end. I've said this before, but get over yourself guy.
  23. I watched the post game conference and you misrepresented what he said. Then implied he was helping g his player by doing so. I didnt address your other points because I had nothing to say about them. Is that ok with you? Take your condescending poor me nonsense somewhere else. Sheesh.
