I think opening day got canceled right there.

Can’t wait to be on my third week of wearing dirty drawers when we aren’t allowed to go to the laundromat anymore.

I would say there's almost zero chance you or I will be attending opening day.

MLB considering no crowds allowed on Opening Day?
A player on Juventus just tested positive. They soldiered through a game this past weekend. Every one of those players has been exposed. This is why I don't think the no fans thing is feasible.

I'm a few days from being told to stay home, and all I know is I will make a concerted effort to be more productive so I never have to come back in again

Just about everywhere eventually will. They all are starting to (U of I, Dayton, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State just off the top of my head have). Nobody wants to be the one school that tries to soldier through and get smashed with the virus.

The Chinese Basketball Association is calling American players back and many of them are refusing. If reports from China are to believed (I'm really not sure if they can) they're probably better off there...

In a way, I'm way more scared about what the world will look like on the other side of this than I am of the disease itself.

The "My job isn't to scare you out of your wits, it's to scare you into your wits" line was great

TBH I'm not sure the media is hyping it enough. Still seeing wayyyyy too many "The flu is worse" articles when just about every doctor in the world has come out and said this is 10x worse than the flu. But I feel you on the WHO thing, in regards to H1N1.

Same with Gary Sanchez. It's more likely that they tested positive for the regular flu than they tested negative for CV

Couple thoughts: As soon as a player gets it: It's over. There's no way you can continue playing under that circumstance. But on the other hand I'm not sure how the union is going to just take this sitting down in the first place.

That's also if there is adequate care available. Which will be far from a guarantee.

I work in logisitcs and uh......... it's bad. Also, huge hiring freezes are already taking place. I picked a really, really bad year to get off my parents insurance.

This is the key right here.

Tbh I don't think no fans is even feasible. Washington has a ban on gatherings over 250 people. 52 players. At least 6 coaches. Trainers. Critical stadium personnel. Broadcasters. Cameramen. That's gotta end up close to 250.

We can't stop people from getting sick. It's out there and in the wild and there's not much we can do about that for the foreseeable future. We need to keep everyone from getting sick at the same time. It's not that hard to understand.

MLB considering no crowds allowed on Opening Day?
I hope the 'I'll be fine' people stop for a second and think about their family and friends who are nurses, doctors and other health care pros that are going to be on the front lines of this thing and putting themselves in danger for weeks, if not months. And definitely don't get in a car accident after the situation blows up.

A. That's only ICU. B. That number is only going to continue to rise at an exponential rate. Italy is going to get to the point where all the 15% of people who require breathing assistance aren't going to make it. That number, by the way, includes otherwise healthy and young people.

The Italian Health Care system is on the brink of collapse with 10,000 known cases. This isn't a fucking joke. We have less hospital beds per capita than Italy, btw.

Has anyone heard if China is going to begin shipping again? Lot's of people aren't going to be able to get meds if not.
