This is exactly why so many of us were clamoring for them to land a whale last off-season. It was a perfect storm of premium talent being available, payroll flexibility, and lack of big spenders to compete with. Not the case this year!
Very true. Also the Braves had the chance to align their rotation to give Soroka 2 starts. Instead, they gave him game 3 and Folty got the 2 starts. The rest is history!
Not nearly enough to get him. He had a good year in the bullpen/firearm/spot starter role. Dodgers wanted to limit his innings this year since he was coming off a major injury, and he’s expected to be reinserted into the rotation next season. His value is still high.
If he’s healthy, I don’t think he’ll get shut down. He threw 93 innings in 2017, 124 IP last year, and he’s currently at 120 this year. I think he’s got 3/4 more starts left.
Quite the opposite actually. Personally, I was eager for the season to start so I can attend more games with Manny in tow. One last chance with Bryce, but seeing how well they handled the Manny negotiations, my confidence level is at 0.
