So, uh, I got the job. Hah Now accepting move ins...

I think the neutral site would have been done, had IU not already had a few games in Indy during the non-conf and the fact that UL wouldn't let UK/IU use the Yum Center. Seems Crean was NOT taking his team to Freedom Hall. Heard that place has gone downhill BIG time.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2012 -> 04:52 PM) The irony is that it was Kentucky years ago who wanted to go to an on-campus format. Exactly, it's stupid. It's COLLEGE basketball. There should be tradition, student sections, and all that with the home and home. Neutrals are fun and all, but there's nothing like playing at Rupp/Assembly Hall. I also think it has something to do with Cal not wanting to lose his undefeated home record next year.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) You sir are a fine representation of the Indiana fan base. All because someone has a different opinion than you. LOL, but when someone gives their opinion on Wisconsin (everyone NOT a Wisconsin fan) and this whole transfer deal, you get all bent out of shape even when the facts and the media have already run with the story and Ryan looks like a complete jagbag on national radio. Mine view might be a TAD bit different, as you're throwing a bunch of hearsay from rival FANS about Crean, with no facts backing up anything, or any quotes from players. This whole thing backfired on you sooooooo bad it was comical to watch unfold. SS2K6 called you out on it big time and he was definitely right.
-
Seems this is all over now. Maybe you can keep your hearsay bulls*** about Crean and Indiana to yourself now
-
LOL Florida has now been added to the "no transfer list". What a freakin' joke, Bo. Sack up, you're the "adult" in this situation.
-
Re the Uthoff ordeal, the irony here is great if you ask me as someone watching this without much direct interest. Sharif Chambliss transferred from PSU to Wisconsin to play for Bo Ryan and paid his own way (he's now on staff at Wisconsin). The Big 10 apparently changed their rule a couple years ago so that Ben Brust could get out of his LOI to Iowa and get a scholarship at another B1G program (Wisconsin) when Iowa fired Lickliter. Again, if true.. Uthoff should go to a JC this season (So he can play, he's already only going to get 3 years to play at wherever he chooses since he red shirted this year and would have to sit out next year) and then transfer to a Big 10 team to stick it to Ryan 2-3 times every year.
-
This whole ordeal couldn't have happened at a better time with you bringing forth the whole "creaning" ordeal (which never provided any facts, nor any major publicity). Heard Cowherd and and another ESPN host basically called Ryan an ass on national TV today saying "why would you go there if you were a recruit". Regardless of the "rumors" of what happened, this is all BAD press for Bo and the Badgers.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 06:20 PM) Yet you have no problem taking rumors as facts against Crean... EXACTLY! hilarious

QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 10:54 PM) Kentucky hasn't lost a home game since 08-09. It would be downright shocking for Indiana to win for that fact alone. I'm not sure how that would be shocking. Yes, UK has been great at home, but they'll be a little "down" next year. The lockout helped them a ton last year. They won't have a Jones/Miller to lean on right away. I mean, IU returns the exact same team (plus 5 athletic, highly sought after players) that split with UK last year...
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 06:16 PM) Uthoff restricted from Big Ten schools, Marquette and Iowa State. Oh, his AAU coach was right? Shocking! Heard he'll likely land at Creighton.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 11:57 AM) Indiana surely has some talent to compete in conference, and possibly the tourney, but uk has a TON more and better coaching. I think IU fans are going to be surprised how different it is with the target back on your backs. It's a tough road through the Big Ten. I agree about the tough road. Regarding the talent, IU has a lot IMO. People keep saying how the field must be extremely weak if Indiana is #1. Well, they have a lot of talent mixed with talented experience. UK just changed the landscape, for the worst IMO. Looking further. IU has Zeller, a likely top 3 draft pick (maybe #1) and probably the best player in the country next year. Watford and Oladipo are also on the 2013 draft boards. Hollowell, Yogi, and Perea are all over the draft boards in the later years. They have first and second round talent at every position.
-
Eric Gordons younger brother, Eron, threw up 32 points last night playing a year up. He's a 2016 kid and threw down three monster dunks evidently. He's extremely young, but it's looking like this kid could be the next big thing.
-
Which was kind of my point. Marq fans hate Crean for up and leaving them. Theres clear bias there. I don't care what Crean did there. He's at a big boy university now where his potential is limitless.
-
So here we are still waiting for the ex-players comments on how Crean pushed their worthless asses out.... If this has happened at such a ridiculous clip, and he's the one who does it most, someone must have spoken up by now and put a stop to this, no? "everyone who has told me about Crean" ..... Oh, you probably live in Wisconsin. I'm sure there's no bias up there about Crean. No, none at all.
-
So really, you have no facts either. Just an article that Tom Crean had a kid transfer, that's what I thought. You're also bats*** crazy if you think Crean "ran off" Malik Story. The kid was homesick like none other, almost didn't come back after Xmas break. He was one of the leading scorers at Nebraska. Yea, Crean couldn't have used him while he was getting 10 wins a season for a few years. Good call. Think about what your quoting next time, and don't link me to some random dudes blog that's probably an Illinois or Wisconsin fan. Maybe you should post the comments from Bawa, or better yet the comments saying Crean did all he could to find him another home? We will probably never know the restrictions placed upon Uthoff, unless the appeal is made public. We do however have an AAU coach basically giving a summary of what Uthoff told him and his worries about transferring. I mean, he may have to go the Juco route for a year for crying out loud.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 12:10 PM) Are you seriously comparing Bo Ryan, who wants a player to honor his commitment, to Crean, who pushes kids out of the program? Uthoff has a spot on the Wisconsin roster, he took a scholarship from other players for a full season. He now wants to move on, Bo Ryan is agreeing to allow him to move on to certain schools. If Uthoff wanted to go to Iowa or Iowa State, he could have made that decision. You are acting like Ryan isnt allowing him out of the scholarship, you have no idea what the restrictions are. I guarantee that if Zeller wanted to transfer to OSU, Crean would say no. Well, you're insinuating that Crean is in fact "pushing" these kids out. If this happens every year, where's your evidence? Maybe the kids don't like the staff, miss home, or MAYBE they want to get more playing time? If Zeller wanted to go to OSU, he wouldn't have a scholarship, as it's against B1G rules. Bo is restricting the s*** out of this kids options according to his AAU coach. He won't even be allowed to his home state in ISU. As far as I know, Crean isn't putting ridiculous restrictions on the kids who transfer from his programs. Those kids have actually commended him for helping them find a new home.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 11:02 AM) I just am not a fan of over signing, I dislike it in football and basketball. I think that once a player signs a LOI the school should honor it for 4 years, I also think that once a player signs they should have to honor it for 4 years unless both parties agree. As for why kids havent spoken up? Most newspapers dont write articles about bench players who transfer to another school. You dont see a lot about it anywhere, even though its considered a widespread practice. For me, I just would never want a coach who wants to over-sign every year, I personally wish it was against the rules. If someone spoke out about Tom Crean "pushing" them out, it would be all over the news, don't kid yourself. College sports is a business more than anything these days. It takes two, the coach and the player. You don't know both sides. Do you think it's worse than what Bo Ryan is going to do to this kid? Just came out today... Class, Mr. Ryan

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 01:10 AM) I'm not a big fan of it in theory, but it is is managed I can live with it. I trust he will manage his roster in a fair way. I think this year we're here because it was widely believed (even before the season started) that Watford would not stay for his 4th year. If he starts having players leave early for the NBA he'll need it. If players aren't playing enough and unhappy, they'll leave. It would not shock me for Creek to be unable to return and be healthy and take a medical hardship. I'm just speculating. We'll see how he manages things the next few years, but I do agree that it could become a problem if we are oversigned every year at this point. Along with that, if he was really kicking these kids to the curb, at least one would have spoken up by now, right? Kid gets sent to prep school, is that any different?

Nobody was on Davis before he shot up...
-
Yes, that happened Rex... Hanner Perea text.... As for Watford, Peegs thinks he'll likely be back. Hope so!

QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 10:03 PM) Do they have anything decent besides Hammons coming in? I thought 2013 was supposed to be their "good" class. I am intrigued to see what Hammons can do, though. Ew. Hammons will have to considerably improve his conditioning next year to make a serious impact. He's going to foul out in 10 minutes a few times next year. Purdue needs some shooters, BAD.
-
IMO, Yogi Ferrell will be the biggest impact freshman in the B1G next season. Probably be the quickest PG in the country the day he steps foot on campus.
-
QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 12:08 AM) Big Ten...probably. Country? Kentucky was a better offensive team than us. UK was good, but as far as efficiency, not sure. We had a bad defense, and UK did what they should have done with 6 first rounders against us. They also went 35-37 from the line.... We put up 90 on them and they were considered one of the best defensive teams in the country. Either way, it seemed we could score at all if we wanted too. Hope that chemistry continues.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) Maybe he'll teach some defense??? I think with the serious influx of athleticism, the defense will be a major, major upgrade. The offense was already probably the best in the country, definitely top 3. As the as the team chemistry continues to be this good, they should find themselves in it to the end. Crean has done a hell of a job. No one expected this, especially this year.
