  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 21, 2012 -> 12:59 AM) I really dislike Crean. I cant even name another coach that compares. I think you've covered this the past 5 years in these very same threads.
  2. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 08:05 PM) Yet you post an equally stupid comment Please, if one bad call goes against your team, the refs are working for Vegas against you. You have that reputation from every schools fanbase in the bigten. Maryland basketball fans will catch on quick after your fans flood their board after the first bad call.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 07:51 PM) I've angered another one now. You guys get riled way too easily. Zeller milked that for all it was worth. Okay, harmless, just like my comment. Let's move on. Yes, he milked it so much he had to go change his contact and see the trainer... How dare that faker!
  4. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) Stupid comments upset me. Saying IU was sucking tonight, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn (until Hulls got hot), playing sloppy, uninspired, etc... All those are legit shots. But a stupid comment about a player like that irritates me. Agreed. Even, watch the replay.. But it goes back too... Illini fan, need I say more?
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 07:04 PM) If his NBA career doesn't work out, Zeller can become a pro wrestler with the way he sells fake injuries. LOL get real. Also, Zeller is coming off the flu. His first practice in a week was yesterday. Hopefully he's better tomorrow. Got an IV at halftime today.
  6. Losing KBD is a big blow to UI and Purdue. Both were on him for a long time. Shocked everyone by going to OSU.
  7. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) I'm kind of in between on this. Kids transfer from programs all the time, so just because one does at IU, doesn't mean the kid was pushed out. I don't think it is fair to automatically assume there are shady things going on when we're still a year away from these kids putting on an IU uniform. With IU's depth this year, someone is bound to get frustrated and leave. Not all kids qualify. That said, there certainly is the potential for a mess. I'm not completely comfortable with it. Right now IU is three scholly's over the 13 limit for next year. Keep in mind, none of these verbal commitments have signed or qualified academically, so nothing is official. But what happens if Zeller wants to stay a 3rd year. No one thinks its possible, but he doesn't seem like the kind of kid (and the family doesn't seem the type) that is in a hurry to get to the NBA. There are a ton of possibilities and combinations, but if things don't fall, it could be messy and turn into the kind of situation you are already assuming. Agree with this, Rex. There's so much talent, someone is bound to be upset with playing time. The last 3-4 guys off our bench would be starters on A LOT of D1 teams. I think at this point you have to give Crean the benefit of the doubt, as he's been coaching for years and it hasn't backfired yet. He knows a hell of a lot more whats going on inside his program than anyone else does.
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:23 AM) Well of course it's going to work out. One way or another, guys will be gone and they'll have the right amount of scholarships out there. But "it works out" doesn't justify it or explain it. Well then we will continue waiting for that link or article speaking with the player who was "cut" or manipulated. It's so bad, Crean has one of the lowest transfer rates in the conference since he got to Indiana! Stop your b****in', Illini fans will be getting good news on KBD soon anyways so hopefully you can stop worrying about Indiana.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:00 AM) Who is in line to get Crean'd now? Saw this coming. It'll all get worked out like it always does. I can already predict how this is going to play out. Rival fans will call foul now that Crean is oversigned Those fans will also say coaches and players are noticing and won't want to play at Indiana Oddly, Crean has a better grasp on scholarships inside the program than any of us It works out Rivals say that Crean is cutting kids Kid who leaves has nothing bad to say about Crean Indiana picks up another elite player Rival fans repeat cycle.
  10. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 12:11 AM) Seen multiple tweets that say Noah Vonleh to IU. EDIT: Yep, his high school coach confirms it. Just a huge, huge get for Indiana. Top 10 player in a stacked 2013 class. Pretty much cements Indiana as another top 5-10 team next year again. Incredible haul for Crean. Vonleh is a great talent. One of the best I've ever seen in person.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 10, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) Oh yes, so jealous of the entire state of Indiana. it's #2 on my list of places I'd like to move to, right after Detroit. You know what he was talking about. It's only a matter of time before we start hearing about how the refs are out to get Illinois in every game. It's like clockwork every year.
  12. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 09:39 AM) Season starts tonight! I'm somewhat worried about the frontcourt for the first part of the season, what with Elston being out til mid-December with a torn meniscus and Jurkin and Mosquera-Parea suspended for the first 9 games (first game back would be December 15th against Butler, so they'd miss North Carolina and the Legends Classic). Probably going to see some unconventional lineups in games, with Hollowell and Sheehey getting time at the 4, and Jeff Howard actually playing meaningful minutes. Even without them though, that wouldn't be an excuse in an of itself for losing any of these games, including UNC or UCLA/Georgetown. Agree with you. Also, Noah Vonleh is in Bloomington this weekend.
  13. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 09:16 AM) Hmm. Perhaps it would be better to go right after. It's more that I want to go Vegas since I've never been at all, so I figured might as well go all out and do New Year's-- but it's probably not worth a s*** ton of extra money to me, which is what it would likely be. Definitely. That was my first time there and it was still awesome. This coming January will be my 2nd and I'll probably hit up a few more shows and whatnot. There's just so, so much to see out there. I honestly felt like I was in a different country. You can definitely get a fantastic deal by using hotwire or naming your own price on priceline (thats what I did) and got a fantastic hotel. The hotels are super nice in Vegas. I stayed at the Trump on new years, but they didn't have a casino. I've heard the Aria is gigantic and everything in your room is so technologically advanced that it's all voice command. I checked hotwire for 2-6 and you can get a 4 star for $40-$50 a night on the strip.
  14. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 12:27 AM) I've been thinking about going with some friends to Vegas for New Years 2013/4 (as in, night of December 31, 2013), but I've never been there before and have no clue how to even research it really. Where to stay? What to do? TELL ME EVERYTHING. I went 2-3 years ago for New years in Vegas. It was alright. Packed and pretty expensive. I decided to go January 2-6 this year, which I got a 5 star hotel (Aria) for $73 a night. Don't get me wrong, it's one heckuva time, but you gotta throw some money around to get into the clubs that night with all the celebs out and about. You see tons of familiar faces.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 09:02 PM) But he is clearly a fan of the program right and somewhat steered them there? Why 14k in stuff directly to those kids? Just seems strange, like a "handler". I know there has been compliance issues at OSU that as soon as you buy season tickets, individual tickets or donate to a charity they put you on the "no contact" list. As stated earlier, all A-HOPE kids get plane tickets and travel money to go home and see their familys in Africa/South America each year, not just Perea and Jurkin. I would guess the appeal will lower the games suspended as the national media is starting to bash the NCAA already. If the ruling is followed by the NCAA in future cases, Wiggins would not be allowed to go to FSU because his parents have given $ to the school and would be considered boosers. Luckily for Purdue, Gary Harris didn't go there according to the NCAA.
  16. IF he was such a big fan of the program, why are these the ONLY two he's ever sent to IU over his years and years of coaching? The "benefits" are a joke. Hell, he's the LEGAL guardian of Perea while he's in the US. Take away his ex-wifes IU license plates she ordered for her car, there's no violation and both kids can play. Even if Adams had only donated $1 to IU, they'd still be ineligible. Here's the panty dropper... What makes this any different than the Michael Oher (The Blindside) ordeal. Absolutely not a damn thing.
  17. Perea and Jurkin suspended 9 games because AAU coach Mark Adams donated $185 to Indiana University from 1982-1985 and is considered a booster of the program. HILARIOUS I'm glad Adams knew that Jurkin and Perea would be AWESOME players when they were born 10 years after he donated! Jesus christ NCAA... As UK wins with the NPOY who took $200,000 to go there........

    Whatcha drinkin'?

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 01:01 PM) If youre a fan of Belgian Strong Ales, try Staffe Hendrick Quad from De Halve Man brewery, fantastic stuff but rare (the tripel isn't as good, fyi). Also, try anything from Dupont brewery, another Belgian brewery. Everything I have had from them has ranked as some of the best beer I've had (and I lived in the Netherlands for 3 months with plenty of Belgian beer drinking). May have to check that out. I'm always looking to try new things. Though, I'm normally an IPA/DIPA/Pale Ale kinda guy.

    Whatcha drinkin'?

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 12:49 AM) Okay...I'm going to be drinking a lot tomorrow. I just can't decide what. Haha what are your options. I'm forcing myself to take a few days off to preserve the rest of my Zombie Dust. Need to go pick up some other different types soon too. Can't decide what...
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 5, 2012 -> 07:56 AM) This X 100. No doubt. It's annoying as hell.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 4, 2012 -> 08:54 PM) Maybe you'll fill more than 1/3 of the stadium then. Agree with this, but kind of saw it coming. Game was delayed 1.5 hours due to the lightning, rain, and hail (not to mention it was 32 degrees). A lot of people went home. The AD is smart though, as they still made a bunch on ticket sales. You must buy season football tickets if you want season basketball tickets.
  22. This Indiana team is just fun to watch. Wilson is really turning it around. Best recruiting class we've ever had coming in next year, plus 19/22 starters coming back, plus the best player on our team (Roberson) coming back from injury. Should be a fun ride coupled with the basketball program. IU is going to be making some serious money soon.
  23. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 07:18 PM) I sure hope so. Can't watch it (don't want to pay for just one game), but I might listen to Don Fischer's call. People always talk about how great he is, but I've never listened to him because I've either been going to the games (and watching the away ones) as a student, or watching them after I graduated. He's awesome. I always mute the TV and listen to him while I watch. As for the game last night. 1. Indiana's depth has depth, and thats even with Perea not playing right now. 2. Yogi is the missing piece to this team. He's incredibly quick with great vision. 3. I don't understand how Crean will be able to keep Sheehey out of the starting lineup. Lastly, it was AWESOME to see Mo Creek playing again last night. Led the team in points! Looked great.
