Don't want to jinx him, but Peavy's stuff is great tonight.

Sounds like UI, OSU, MSU, and IU are really going to "change the pace" of the conference the next few years. Going to be a track meet for the IU/UI games.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) I think that's on third base coach, you gotta tell him to stay put or come back. Hesitation killed him there Third base coach doesn't really have a quick enough reaction for that. It's the runners instinct. -

QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:40 PM) The recruit I want the most is Jaquan Lyle in 2014. I think we have a better shot at getting Dwayne Wade to suit back up for Crean. There were a lot of factors and influences in Trey Lyles de-commiting from Indiana, JaQuan being one of them. JaQuan and Trey are signed, sealed, and delivered to UK.
-
Also, don't believe Williams committed anywhere. He cut his list to UK and UNC, then opened it back up. He's a 6'8" Oladipo. Just a freak athlete. Reminds me of OSU players of past.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 05:52 PM) I know Williams committed somewhere else at first, it might have been North Carolina. As of right now I feel good about IU's chances with Anya, but would in no way consider him a lock or anything and wouldn't be surprised if he ends up somewhere else. Not as sure on Williams, that stuff has come on more recently. Agree with you. I think IU leads for Anya, but a ways to go. Saw today where UNC mods said IU leads for Williams, as UNC isn't sure they want to take him because they are "in" on more elite players. Said the only reason they would take him was to keep the Boo Williams AAU pipeline open. Crean has an in home with Anya on Friday. Honestly think Anya commits the night of Hoosiers Hysteria. Rabjohns has been hearing for months that Anya tried to commit to Indiana around the time Robinson did, but his parents wanted him to see the campus first. I've heard his parents are like Oladipo's father (which makes sense as they came to the US together). They don't like basketball, but want the kid to get a free education. Oladipo's father doesn't even watch the games. Hasn't even seen Victor play since middle school (doesn't understand the concept of basketball and why he plays). Kind of sad, but it is what it is I suppose. The kid is about to make a lot of money for his family.

Is it possible to buy mlb.tv for one game? I wanna see this damn game.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 01:57 PM) Eventually you are going to have to not take a class with this many kids. And I had not heard those guys were IU leans at all, was this a new development. You hadn't heard Anya is leaning IU? That's been out there for about 2 years. His family immigrated to the US with the Oladipos. Two of his best friends are going to IU (one to play basketball and one to play soccer). Then there's the fact his old coach is Kenny Johnson, an assistant coach at IU. Troy Williams' uncle is Boo Williams, who recently told Inside Carolina that UNC and IU are his top two, but it's difficult to say whether UNC would take his commitment or not. Recent ESPN article on Anya.... "BeeJay Anya (Gaithersburg Md./DeMatha High), a 6-foot-9, 275 lb. center in the 2013 class, has scholarship offers from nearly every major program in the country. His size alone allows him to bang on the inside with ease and is a force on the defensive end. According to ESPN's Paul Biancardi, his length is what makes him special. "Besides having a wide body to carve out space in the lane, he is blessed with some of the most important attributes a player needs for the post game," Biancardi said. "An enormous wingspan of 7 feet, 9 inches, a gigantic pair of hands that firmly control the ball and good footwork to gain position in the paint and score." Anya took an unofficial visit to N.C. State last week and is expected to have an official visit there in October. Other official visits planned include Louisville (Sept. 28-30), Ohio State (Oct. 5-7) and Indiana (Oct. 19-21) for its midnight madness. Which is the best fit? Speculation here, but the Hoosiers appear to be in great position to land the big man. He has a great relationship with new IU assistant Kenny Johnson, who previously was director of basketball operations of Anya's AAU program, "Team Takeover." Anya is also close with junior guard Victor Oladipo and 2013 commit Stanford Robinson (Fairfax, Va./Findlay College Prep). He'd also fit in from a basketball standpoint. The Hoosiers are looking to add a post presence with the thought that Cody Zeller will be gone to the NBA by the time 2013 rolls around. "

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) Doesn't IU already have 4 commits for '13? Would they really take 6 in '13? Yep. I doubt they end up getting Williams, but he's not supposed to sign in the spring so we shall see. Hulls, Watford, and Elston are gone. Zeller makes four. Oladipo graduates and will more than likely have the option of going pro, which will make 5 for Anya. The 6th spot is where it gets iffy, which is likely why Crean is still out recruiting. The common thought is that while Creek is "cleared to play", most would be surprised if he ever really does again. Then there's always the chance of someone transferring, as there's a boatload of talent on the roster and in the end, someone is probably going to get upset with playing time. We shall see.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) Since we're talking basketball, Tennessee just got the #12 player in the country (SG Robert Hubbs) as well as another Top 150 player (Antonio Davis' son). Both committed yesterday. I really needed that news after the awful loss to Florida this weekend. I really love Cuonzo Martin. Hope he never leaves. Martin is recruiting well. Lots of commitments of late. About a month off from Midnight Madness' all around. Hoosier Hysteria will host quite a few visitors, including BeeJay Anya and likely Troy Williams. Looks to be another top class for Indiana.

Good for Dan. Played AAU baseball with him for 2 summers when we were in HS. Super nice guy. Suprised the Sox have not moved him up.
-
Jackson would be a great get for the Illini. I think they'll need to couple him with a couple legit bigs in the next few classes though. I'm hoping you pull in Bates-Diop (or just anyone) over Purdue. Sounds like that kid is the real deal.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) Yeah I obviously dont have a rivals subscription to an Indiana forum. And I dont know why? That is what most of the Wisconsin people are asking, because Wisconsin never offered Fischer a scholarship, so they are theorizing that this is Fischer trying to determine if Wisconsin has interest in him. It really is odd because if Wisconsin wanted him, you would think they would have offered him and worked the fact that his HS coach has a son going to Wisconsin as a walk-on and his AAU team is the "Wisconsin Swing" which has Koenig also a Wisconsin recruit. Likely because UW is starting to miss on their top targets, ala Semi and Washington. Rock- I'm not saying its right or wrong, as I really don't care. I was just pointing it out.
-
Do you have a Rivals subscription to Peegs.com? If not, link will not work. Either way, both sides will have their story and believe what they want. It just makes no sense for Luke to randomly make this an issue.
-
Of course he denies it, his son plays for UW and is a UW fan. There's quotes directly from Luke an his father indicating the exact opposite.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) Oh so youre saying that Fischer hasnt put in his LOI? Interesting you once again just sunk your argument. Guess you didnt think that post through. If Fischer signs a LOI to Indiana, no one will contact him. Until the LOI is signed, hes open season. Thats how it works for every player, not sure what your complaint is. And as I've stated many times already, recruiting a committed player is thought of as "unethical" to the majority of the country. I'm not even saying it's right or wrong from my POV, I was merely poking a hole in Saint Bo Ryan's holy following. If this was the other way around, Red Foreman and Co. would be on their way to Crean's home ready to fight.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) Where did I say anyone badgered Uthoff to leave? Seriously quit putting words in my mouth. I dont care Uthoff left. I cared that people were upset Bo Ryan didnt want him to get a scholarship to another Big 10 school. You are ridiculous, seriously. Let me make this very clear, if it wasnt Tom Crean, I doubt Bo Ryan would do it. But because of a long long history between them, Im pretty sure Bo Ryan could give a flying f*** about Tom Crean's feelings. Its funny you act like Fischer is a victim, its on Wisconsin sites that Wisconsin reached out to him to gauge his interest. That being said, Wisconsin never even offered him a scholarship, woe is mother f***ing me. Do I think Tom Crean called Gary Harris after he committed to MSU? Yep. What would I think if Tom Crean didnt call Gary Harris? Hes an idiot. Sorry, I dont really see what your point is. Either way, regarding Gary Harris. I guarantee Crean DIDN'T call Gary Harris, as that would have been an NCAA violation. Harris notified MSU he chose them while he faxed his letter of intent to them on board of the ship they played UNC on.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) Where did I say that Tom Crean recruited Uthoff? Uthoff was on scholarship from Wisconsin. Wisconsin had paid Uthoff's tuition for 1 year. How is this comparable to a player who is still in High School? I dont know what players Tom Crean has continued to recruit, I assume Tom Crean and every other coach in NCAA continues recruiting players until the final day of signing. I dont get upset that coaches are doing their job and following up with players to see how committed they are. You have no point, this is one of the worst trolls of all time. The point was, most coaches, teams, and fans frown upon this stuff outside of college football. You saw the backlash with Sampson. I was merely pointing out that Mr. Ryan isn't the saint he's made out to be. I realize Uthoff was not recruited by Indiana, but you keep making it a point to say that teams "badgered" him into leaving Wisconsin, yet that is clearly against NCAA rules and no NCAA action was ever taken. I don't consider "following up on a players commitment" to be contacting him for 2 weeks straight until Luke finally contacts Indiana based basketball websites to get his story out so that Wisconsin will leave him alone...
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 06:34 PM) No they wouldnt. Wisconsin has lost committed players before. The situations are not comparable at all. Tom Crean has recruited Wisconsin players after they committed before, so why would Ryan not recruit Crean players? It would be completely negligent and derelict on his part. Furthermore, Indiana has a history (see Eric Gordon) of recruiting players already committed in the Big 10. Again why would Wisconsin let Indiana do it, and not do it themselves? It would be complete stupidity. How is it the same concept? Why dont you show me a comparable situation, where Bo Ryan recruited a player who red-shirted for another Big 10 team and that player then went to Wisconsin on scholarship. Otherwise its nothing more than a troll, and I hope that every Illinois fan destroys you for this hypocritical nonsense. Only the worst homer Hoosier fan would complain about this, its sad actually. And Indiana history includes a coach that was fired 5 years ago. Please, which players from Wisconsin has Tom Crean continued to recruit at Indiana?? Like I said, Tom Crean didn't recruit Uthoff while he was at Wisconsin, and it was never proven anyone else did either.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 06:21 PM) Remember when Luke Fischer red-shirted for Indiana and was actually on the Indiana team? Oh wait you are talking about a guy who hasnt even stepped foot on Indiana campus? Nice troll, you get upset when Indiana got Eric Gordon? Because Eric Gordon is comparable to Luke Fischer. Uthoff would be comparable to Wisconsin trying to get Zeller to leave. Can you understand the difference? (edit) And that is just me presuming its true, Im not even sure Wisconsin ever offered him. Hey like I said, different situation, same concept. I don't remember seeing any official ruling that Uthoff had been contacted by other schools while at UW, or there would have been NCAA action. Wisconsin didn't offer, but they are sure pushing for him now after he had a very, very good summer. All I'm saying is that many Wisconsin fans think Crean is as slimy as Cal, yet their own coach is out there recruiting committed players. Badger nation would be tripping over themselves running to Bloomington with torches if this were the other way around.
