QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 05:59 PM) Karma was talking crap about not having any trouble with Illinois, then losing the next one. At least we haven't lost 3 in a row yet. What farmteam said. At least we haven't lost three in a row yet? That's the comeback? Same s*** different year with Weber. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 10:24 AM) I'm no fan of Weber, but hearing a poster presumably being a Crean backer routinely critisize Weber is simply mind boggling. You trying to say Crean has had as much talent as Weber the past 4 years? Last year was a disapointment, and the last few games have been disapointing as well. I don't know if you noticed, but Indiana still sits at 15-4, exceeding expectations and has the best 2 wins in the country. I'll give Crean a little bit of leeway, but Webers time has run out. Now if Crean loses this team completely and they end up on the bubble, then I'll be with you. I don't think that will be happening and the talent coming only gets better each year. -

Also Illinois guys, have any of you seen Kendall Stephens play for St. Charles East I believe it is? Purdue fans thinking he's the next big thing or some crap. Haven't heard the same, I think their full of s***. Heard he plays in a pro-football area and not a lot of basketball competition. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 09:35 AM) Wisconsin has a bunch of games in the 50's too. Hell one game they scored 41. It's just the style of play - use the full shot clock to get a good shot. Unfortunately for Illinois it's just pass-pass-pass heave up a contested three pointer. That's the thing, it works for them. They play good defense without fouling, don't turn the ball over, and take high percentage shots. Illinois has the athletes to ram it down opponents throats. -

As for the posters who refrained from talking smack.... Howard isn't going to be able to convince these players Illinois is the place for them anymore. Not only is one of your most talented players in Henry not playing, Illinois runs the worst motion offense I've ever seen. How do you struggle to score 50 points, multiple times per season? -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) Really? I'd call NW, Iowa and Minn bad, and I doubt any of them make the tournament. I'd be shocked if the B10 sent more than 6. Which is still a lot, but, any more than that, I just can't see it. In my view, there is a big drop off after your first 6 teams there, and then another one right after that. Wouldn't even say that. Those teams can beat you on any given night. Hell, even Penn State beat the s*** out of Purdue. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 11:47 PM) Glenn Robinson? I'm talking as a collective team. Heck, it's not even fair to Glenn to say he was Gene's player. He came to Purdue because of Frank Kendrick. He took a nap halfway through Knight and Keady's home visit. And judging by his apartment and vehicle (for a kid from Gary, Indiana), there's no chance it was a clean recruitment anyway. But back to IU/IL. I was pissed and drinking heavily last night. It won't be easy for IU, but I fully expect them to win. -

Indiana laid one against Minny, I highly doubt that happens against ILL. I don't think you wanna get into some of the stinkers your team has played. Bruce might want to realize he has more talent than his idle Gene Keady ever had and adjust accordingly. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Indiana is the worst defensive team in the conference right now. They are going to struggle with everybody unless that changes. They need to shoot 60+% from three to beat Michigan by 2 at home and needed to do the same to beat PSU by only 6. That'll happen when you play OSU twice, MSU, and UM to in your first 6 games. They'll be fine. The schedule gets better from here on out. If you told me we'd be 3-3 right now before the BT started, I'd take that in a heartbeat. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 06:18 PM) Not this embarrassing of a performance. The game was over after 5 minutes. Maybe not, but Duke did the same thing at OSU. I saw this coming. Indiana won't have a problem with Illinois. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 05:16 PM) Indiana is terrible. I doubt you'll be saying that after we beat you in a few weeks. It's OSU on the road, after a loss, after we already beat them. Who didn't see this coming? -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) That's what we do. In fact, that's the only thing we do. I'm pretty sure we're the only fan base that complains about officiating in sports. Not the only, but you're fan base is one of the worst. I mean, you're complaining about the refs in a game your team wasn't even playing in. I just watched the replay on Zellers and 1, and there was definitely enough lower body contact to call a foul. Regardless, it's over, we lost, time to move on. -

Yep, definitely a piss poor effort. Pick up the pieces and get ready for Saturday. Likely Indiana goes 0-2 this week, but this loss was coming. The team (outside of Zeller) has looked lazy the past 3 games. I think this was a wake up call for the better. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 04:17 PM) Novak went to HS the next town over from me and in my HS's conference. Chesterton right? Matt Holba is a freshman there now. IU has been in to see him plenty and he's been on campus a few times this year already. Supposed to be pretty damn tough for the 2015 class. -

Oh, I think he definitely coached a good game. I just think Illinois can do 10x better. They have 2 absolute beasts on their team. No excuse for struggling to throw up 50 points every so often. Oh, and thanks for pissing OSU off. They were going to be ready for Indiana Sunday regardless, now they are desperate. -

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) What individual performances in the Big 10 in the last decade are as good as that? It sounds like hyperbole but BP just dropped 43 points on phenomenal shooting numbers against the number 5 team in the country. EDIT: in conference play obviously Well, Etwaun Moore put up 38, 5 assists, and 3 steals on 13-18 shooting LAST year against OSU, so it's not unheard of. Solid win for the Illini. Best part is that it buys Bruce Weber more time. NICE -

As for that columnist discrediting this brboiler dude because of the Gary harris situation.. You can't do that. Gary Harris' dad was at Purdue and Indiana multiple times during the recruit, even during the final days leading up the annoucement because he goes there on business trips multiple times per week. I'm guessing he knows nothing of the Harris recruitment.. It was incredibly tight-lipped. Insane -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 09:07 AM) You expected Indiana to be this good? I certainly didn't. I don't think Indiana thought Indiana was going to be this good. I still think their around #15-#20 in the country, but if they beat Michigan tonight their in the top 10. Team could have been really special had Maurice Creek never went down. -

So happy for Crean. Still can't get over just how much better Oladipo (and Sheehey) got over the off season. Also Indiana got a commitment from Wisconsin native 6-10 Luke Fischer after the game. Big pick-up for the Hoosiers. -

Already seeing a lot of orange near Mackey. This will be the only time I root for the Illini. I hope they smash Purdue by 50. Go to Leonard everytime. They have no one to stop him. Should be a "mellowed" atmosphere with the Taint Crew full of alumni.
