QUOTE(agame @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) It's expecially frustrating because I was in touch with an account representative someone two weeks ago trying to get postseason tickets with the 2006 season ticket purchase and they said it was no longer valid. Had they kep it valid throughout the playoffs and done extra advertising they could have sold so many season tickets and been totally setup for next year. It just doesn't seem to make sense. People are throwing money at them and they are denying it. This sucks! Demand exceeded supply and the ability to service the customers, they would and still will happily take your money....it just wasn't properly planned out. Worse things have happened..the Sox are actually in the World Series people!!!!

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) They will still try to bring everyone in the fold. But its going to be hard to with this dissappointment. I bet Eric Soderholm got some though. Oh I guarantee the scalpers did just fine...the odds are so against the casual fan in every instance to purchase high-demand tickets. I'll actually enjoy the call I'll get from them, as I'll have quite a few questions. Sidebar: when you linked the page I actually know one account executives. I remembered her interning there but now I guess she is working full time. Hmm...guess I should stay in touch with some people, would've came in handy this time :banghead

QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) " Fans who purchase 2006 full season ticket plans also can purchase 2005 World Series tickets." thats says nothing about A CHANCE They are 'taking orders' online. APPARENTLY NOT So if I could take off work and be obnoxious at 10:45 am I could get ahead of all the online orders from last night and this morning....thats pretty dumb. But if they don't charge the credit cards there is no action anyone can take.
-
QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) i think that is why they didnt charge our cards....if they charge me 50% they will hear from me...I HAVE NO PROBLEM paying them 205 per seat or the 10% for next year but I am not willing to pay half when no one else would have to for the same thing i am getting If they charge my card without calling or anything I will flip my lid for sure...I am still probably going to purchase season tix for next year but there is no way I'm putting down a 50% deposit....then I get upset As of right now I can deal. I've often stewed in my own feces before
-
I'm not that upset, I should've jumped on it sooner...it's my fault 100%. Well there are worse things than watching it on TV, I'm sure I will think of what they are one day... Damn Bandwagon left without me

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) A different experience.. they haven't even gone on sale yet. Several people HERE got lowers for the ALCS. Shhhh...don't tell anyone

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) That was all over the news last night as well as news cameras were there and they interviewed Brooks. Maybe if you guys got off the internet once in a while... Classic example of pot calling kettle black... Although you're pretty much a 9 to 5er like me

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:46 AM) on whitesox.com the offer is no longer available so I'm thinking they got all the orders they care to get.... Thats actually a good sign for those who have filled out that form already I think...
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) I'm sure they were bombarded with deposits. Considering this whole process takes human contact they are going to have a hard time reaching everyone by the time the tickets go on sale to the general public. I would imagine that the tickets that would be reserved by people making their deposits would be held out, but you never know. It wouldn't surprise me if they are contacting the people requesting the most expensive seats first. Good...cause thats what I have asked for...the website sure sounds like if you fill out a deposit form they will hold tickets for you...I sure hope so.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) They just opened that up. That page didn't have those buttons earlier. http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/805917?...link=tm_home_f1 Here...use this one then....

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) You know I'd hope that some of us would share some stuff, because I think that most of us would help each other out in here if we were able. But I guess I'm naive and too nice for my own good. My chances are very slim, but if I score some tickets, for sure some of my soxtalk friends are going. I would share my 'methods' but I guarantee that no one would be offering me tickets anyway if I miss out...so whats the point?? I am yet to fail for any show/event that I have tried for but I am mentally preparing this to be my first 'failure'.

QUOTE(That funky motion @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) I had a weekend package this year. I just dont understand why they would'nt contact people like myself, that have bought something before. They instead release the info to everyone, and I get screwed. This is a team that was crying for fans to but tickets, then reward them by lumping them together with everyone else!!! I just don't see the harm in giving the people that have been loyal to you a chance before anyone else! The answer to this question is time and preparation...We don't have much experience with this world series thing so some things that are done were not exactly well planned out...Loyalty should've been a factor but instead of dealing with emails they simply released one simple press release.

QUOTE(downstairs @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) I've called a bunch of TicketMaster phone numbers this morning... all the way out to South Dakota.... They're all busy?! That seems strange? Any ideas why? Because there are 10,000 other people like you doing the exact same thing???
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) A lot of people were not willing to make a several thousand $$ commitment with a chance to playoff tickets. Perhaps you need a memory refresher.. but at the time they were initially promoting this the Sox were playing like crap. BTW.. they got somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 new st seats sold then, so I'll say from that - and from the apparent demand for this deal - that your 1000 # is low. As for you questioning the fans on this site and their lack of purchase earlier... Pretty f***ing rude. For me to waste my time to explain myself to someone as to why I'm going to try and do this deal now is stupid. He's free to have his opinions, without knowing anything about any of us, etc. I'm really stretching my finances to pull this deal, and I would consider myself to be more opportunistic than fair-weather, but what do I know?
-
oh my...consider me near poverty level after the left click I just made.
-
QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 08:09 AM) oh and they have not charged my card yet either They won't until they talk to you on the phone...if they don't get a hold of you, you will not get the deal.
-
So has it been determined that is one ticket for every season ticket for every game or just one game? Basically my purchase hangs on which one of these is the case....
-
I am seriously considering a purchase.....and that is not a good thing I'm short of breath...sweating mildly...this is perhaps the toughest decision of my life to this point.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) disappointing. still, meacham is a nice hedge until the gordon-rose years begin (hopefully, fingers-crossed). True...hopefully Chester Frazier and Trent can bridge the gap for one season until Rose and Gordon decide to choose ILL...which is beginning to look like a big if with Gordon now looking at Duke and Rose being recruited by every whos who in college basketball. It is remarkable to me after watching our team last year run a guard friendly offense that had two players taken in the first round, is unable to recruit a big time guard. It is slightly concerning and dumbfounding... -
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) there is absolutely no way to get a ticket for under 5 bills for this game from a scalper. those scalpersuckfaceticketers will be gone by wednesday night & they will be lining the liquor stores for months to come with the loot tripping on us with "you got a quarter BS?!" to think that the ALCS tix went for $50/seat in the upper over home plate. WHAT A FREAKIN STEAL! Rant much? I don't know what I'm going to have to do to get into a game next week but I pretty much have to be at one of the games...looks like I'm gonna be working the corner extra hard this weekend...

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) I just don't see the point in opening without alcohol. That's where all the $$ is made. Very true...but if they charge half price for parking, stil sell food and stuff they will still do alright. From the sounds of it this seems like a moot point anyway, but for something that happens, well never, this is something that would be awesome if they could make it happen.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) I love to drink. But, I would go with or without alcohol. So would I... Maybe they should make it BYOB
