question about split season ticket plans
Chisoxrd5 replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) I'm thinking about getting Upper Deck 27 game double play plan. I know for full season ticket plans in the UD they let you go all over the park. Is the same true for the split season plans? I'm asking you guys because the line is STILL f***ING busy at 674-1000 Yeah it's ridiculous...How can the line still be busy? I'm trying to get through to find out if I'm still going to recieve a call concerning the season tix because I'm still buying a plan even though my sorry ass didnt get my deposit in fast enough. I imagine a bunce of people are trying to get a refund or seeing what there status is on the deposits they made. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Wow, how could you put a price on something like that? With one of these?

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) It was at just over 11K this season.. the Sox didn't have 8K in WS tickets to give away, so 19K I doubt. Maybe back up to 15K. Baby steps. Well you still have to account for us kids who are gonna get season tix regardless of getting WS tickets :banghead

I'll probably go to one of the games at the UC...that alone should be reason enough to attend!?!?

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) no, i don't think it proves it anymore than not getting those other three guys proves he can't. and why be dismissive of carlwell? he's a four-star recruit, collins is a five-star (fwiw, which ain't much). he's a skilled 6-10 kid who projects to grow to seven-feet. he's the fifth-rated center prospect in the nation according to scout.com. you make it sound like he sucks. Unless you have seen them both play then I wouldn't comment. Collins is a "wow" player...Carlwell is a project Carlwell projects out to be a dominant big man but he has a long way to go. Sherron Collins is the real deal. -
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) No kidding.. though I'm getting that for Christmas... I have this already also, but it's pretty damn cool regardless. Well then what are you gonna do with that gift certificate?

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) I'm wondering if he really thinks it's the players that are having them.. Thus the concern on if they will miss games after the "terrible pains of childbirth" that Paulie went through down in Arizona. In my opinion this is the best thing that could happen for Paulie...congrats to him and his wife!

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) Are all the sox players having babies right now? Can't they have waited till january to have babies. I really hope you can do the math on this and figure out why they are all having kids now....somehow I doubt it.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) So far, it's been horrible. He's missed out on Wright, Scheyer, and Collins. If you keep losing top in-state talent, your recruiting is going to be considered horrible. Could you imagine a similar program like Georgia Tech, if they kept missing out on the best players in Georgia? Quite simply, high school recruits don't mesh well with Weber's personality (and this isn't just a rumor). I am the most shocked by the Collins decision. Julian Wright was a big fan of Selfs before he left Illinois. Scheyer had Duke written all over him....don't lie to yourself. I have no explanation as to why Collins shunned Illinois, other than the fact that he made a quick 180 about a month ago after his coach, Anthony Longstreet, decided to be a larger factor in his decision making. It didn't work out and it is very upsetting, but horrible is such a terrible word for a team that still has a decent class coming in. -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Horrible is the word I intended to use. You are saying, well, hes not bad, he got a few good recruits. You are talking about a team that was dominant all last year!! Top tier program, very visable tv schedule, very visable players. Players that just jumped to the NBA. A team that spent most of the season on top. And you are saying, well, at least he got a few good players. With a team like he just had, with the exposure he just had, he should have a top 3 recruiting class this year, thats it. Give it a few years...it wasn't 'horrible' and for you to say that you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. If he misses out on Gordon, Rose, Mbakwe, Cole, Bayless and the whole other slew of talented Juniors looking at us and does not compile a top 5 class then we have something to be worried about. The way it has shook out is not favorable, but one good recruiting year can turn it all around. I'm disappointed, no doubt, but to say it is horrible is way out of line. -
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) 2002 World Series: Giants (Pac Bell Park) vs. Angels (Edison Field). The names of both ballparks have changed. Thats why I always de-bunk any ridiculous comment before it can be proved wrong... Thanks

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-nws-soxbox20.html Who was BS-ing? I cannot believe this, this is the most unbelievable thing I have ever read... Oh wait...I'm not suprised or upset at all...and I haven't been on pins and needles the whole time like that guy. He needs to calm down. :rolly

QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 07:55 AM) That park is retarded. Forget Minute Maid, maaaaan, it's Tropicana for me! Either way its still the juice bar...two corporately named ballparks facing off in the world series. Is this the first time that has ever happened? And this is completely off the top of my head too...so don't yell at me if I'm blatantly wrong.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) I need it to show significant weakening and evidence that it will stay well south or my plans to fly in to White Sox Country are going to be scuttled. I guess it would be poor form to leave my wife and two kids in the path of this one, huh? Sounds like a family road trip up to Chicago

http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/show.html Good read...as I have posted before. For it to have reached a category 5 in 24 hours after being named a hurricane is absolutely amazing...but like a few other eluded to, when it reaches Florida is should be a Category 3 or weak 4 which is still really bad, but nothing like it is right now.

Konerko's postseason plaudits well-deserved

QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) how righteous...congrats! I wouldn't categorize the "the world is against me, but I was right all along" as righteous... :rolly Played out...sounds like something I would rant about, and that is NOT a good thing -
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 09:45 AM) Rock, I'll be there. For the last series, Duffy's had "Sox Parities" It was all you could drink for 15 bucks from 6-11, and the whole back room was sox fans. highly f***ing recommended! The Duffy's on Diversey??? If so I would definitely consider hitting that up!

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Oh.. I'm fine. And I don't need them for anything. I'm referring to those that are waiting to hear from them... don't fret. Fretting is like one of my favorite pastimes...

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Im waiting for a call too. We put in ours at 830. I'll let you guys know as soon as I find out. Somehow I doubt they will call today to say you can't get WS tickets, want to buy season tickets for next year? If anything they will wait a few days then call to inform you that you missed out on the deal and ask about your current interest in a ticket plan still would be. Its bad business to call right away and say SORRY, no WS tix, but want to drop big cash on a season plan?
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) They don't sell Cubs/Sox tickets to the public. You had to buy at least a 13 game package to get them in 2005. It will probably be worse for 2006. ha...you're right. I kinda forgot that they don't sell those to the public. Well I guess I was wrong...hehe
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) I can't wait to see the reactions of some of you if you get a call from the Sox today, tomorrow, or even Thursday telling you to come pick up your WS tickets and '06 Season Ticket package. meh....if I get them Thursday it will hard to turn them for a profit by Saturday Should I hold my breath waiting for this phone call?

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) When they go on sale online, are they as hard to get as what we saw these past few series? Just wondering so I can prepare for next year. Not even close...get on right when they go on sale your completely fine.
