  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) To add.. my sisters mother in law has had pits all her life. My brother in law grew up with at least a dozen of them. Never an issue. Luck of the draw. Any dog will attack, IMO. Hell.. my daughter in law has a beagle that's attacked her twice!! Can't wait till she brings home the new baby in a month. :headshake One of my friends has a pit-lab mix. That dog is the nicest, sweetest dog you ever want to meet. Pit Bulls have the makeup to be a vicious dog. They are easily agitated, and if raised improperly can become violent. They are also ridiculously strong and quick, all attributes that lead to these sort of violent attacks. Any dog can snap, but APBT's have the propensity to do it more often, and the physical ability to do a lot of damage when doing so. I for one think the breed shouldn't be banned, but instead closely monitored. If you know someone in you're neighborhood has one make sure they have a fence or always have it chained up if they leave it alone outside. Most beagles are pretty mean dogs...I'm not a big fan of those scrappy things...

    Jarhead?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) Everything I've heard says that it is very disappointing. Where have you heard this 'everything' from? I might go see it tonight, kinda wondering if its worth my time...
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) See, Nike's whole "child labor" problem had me actually considering changing shoe brands. Now I have an excellent reason never to buy another pair of Reebok's in my life. Thanks for making my choices easier folks! Or Adidas either if thats you're reasoning... Reebok = Adidas...
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Wake up son.. Why do I deserve the bang over the head? I'm not allowed one moronic post all day? Because I was being soooo serious too... :rolly
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) Yea.. well I'm gonna raise you a screw Pauly and get Sweeney Phhh...I can top that one... Trade Contreras for Mark Texiera

    Summer Internships

Whats your major? What are you looking for? Additional Information would be needed if anyone is to help you
  10. QUOTE(rangercal @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) If you don't like the tread. STAY AWAY Thats why I put snow chains on in the winter!! I should stay away, but I was lured in by my naive belief that a world series would rid sox fans of media bias paranoia. But I was sorely mistaken...
  11. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) I stated my plan earlier. It depends on who is back and healthy... If: Konerko and Thomas both back and healthy, then there you have your 3-4 hitters. Maybe add Gload as the backup. If: Konerko and Thomas both not playing, then go get that high-priced FA for one spot, and give the other to Gload or Rogo or JD. If: One is back and not the other, well, probably the same as above, in some form. I would want a winning team, which may or may not require much increase in salary. There would be some increase in any case, with Konerko OR and FA, plus the raises. Has no one learned yet, even after the World Series, that $$$ does not necessarily equal WWW? I would respond with a long drawn out reply to this but since I'm at work I'll just stick with saying: No I thought the more money you spend equates to more wins.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) People who respond to stressful situations with short-term anger or indignation have a sense of control and optimism that lacks in those who respond with fear Most of my anger is contrived from fear...so this article doesn't pertain to me at all...oh well.
  13. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) So be it. Then leave it to Gload, or maybe Rogo. I still think we need to consider our own resources before spending a ton of new money. Give them a shot. So by you're plan for the offseason, our payroll will drop from last seasons $75 million? I'm sure that will go over well...
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) I'm a Pacers fan, so I have no problem with the poll. You wouldn't have a problem with it anyway...you're not a member of the whine at every ESPN article fan club that hundreds of Soxtalk posters subscribe to.
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) I'll request the tickets. Ohhhh boy... that'll be a fun trip. There is even odds on me rolling out to Cinci for that series...if that happens, you are all in big trouble..
  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Since I already subscribe to it, is there any way to get the Sports Illustrated White Sox Championship Package besides subscribing? I was looking around and couldn't find another way. Thanks for the help. Call them and tell them you want to add a year or two to your current subscription. They will accordingly send you out the Sox Package. Edit: I think if you would prefer you can buy the package for $49.95 or something...but you're better off just extending your subscription as I will probably recieve SI for the rest of my life anyway.
  17. You people all have a real sense of security problem. Your paranoia over how much the rest of the U.S. hates you're favorite teams is pretty funny.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) Surgery. Herniated Disk? do you have any more insight oh wise one?
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Any reason the Orioles have a lust over our Single-A journeymen? This is the same team that traded for Sammy Sosa...any more questions?
  20. Guys if you look at these rankings these are the "pre-preseason" rankings going into next season. Ranking us second should be something to be excited about...it's something to applaud KW for and the entire organization. They did not factor what happened last season into these rankings. They are predictions for NEXT YEAR. The fact we are second is something to hang your hat on.
  21. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) I didnt say he was better than Rowand, hell that trade was gold for us, but it seems like the kid is on webgems every night. Rowand didnt start to get noticed nationwide until his highly touted Yankee series. I'm not even saying that Rowand should've won it. But in the history of the Gold Glove, only two Outfielders have ever won the award as a rookie. Ichiro, and I think Fred Lynn...both pretty good players with big names. Its not very common for a rookie to win the award.
  22. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) Chavez was banged up early in the first half too and missed some games, Crede is moreso a flavor of the month right now, I doubt many baseball insiders and voters paid much attention to .220 hitter that gets benched for Pablo Ozuna once in a blue moon. As far as Rowand goes, we all know we wouldnt have anybody else patrolling our Center Field, hell Griffey wouldnt even had anywhere to play.... obviously Hunter doent deserve this award either, but there are other canidates out there besides Row...... Jeremy Reed comes to mind You should've stopped while you were ahead... Edit: Take that back after re-reading you're entire post you were way behind about 15 words in. :banghead
  23. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) LOL The only one I was surprised by was Varitek. I never saw that one coming. This is the same guy who can't catch the knuckleballer who starts 1/5th of the team's games. I'll give you that...Varitek winning a Gold Glove has pretty much locked down the fact that the Gold Glove award means about as much as a Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award
  24. You guys are funny... All worked up about the popularity contest that is the Gold Glove Awards? Whats next an outcry when Konerko doesn't win AL MVP? This award has long been considered a joke by everyone, lets not cry about it, it will make your mascara run. :headshake
