  1. Won't be there today...but I was there yesterday My losing streak is officially broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need this game today, I'm sick of Jeff Brantley reveling in the Sox slide. :headshake
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) I was very curious to see it. I heard most of the film takes place in a courtroom. Still scary though, huh? Meh...it was alright...you can tell they didnt have a huge budget because a lot of the film takes part in the courtroom. And there are only a few different sets used during the entire film. There are a few freaky/jump out of your seat scary parts. It's worth a viewing.
  3. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 01:59 AM) I never wanted Contreras gone. Pretty sure I didn't either...but I'll apologize for calling him rather inappropriate names at times. I really don't like threads like these yes I'm whining...
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) Of course, we'll all be back next year. That's why it's laughable to see some of the people free-falling off the bandwagon. Of course, they'll be back tomorrow if the Sox win tonight. If all the fans give up on the team for next season, then we're just asking for another 50 million dollar payroll in 2007. Baseball is basically the one sport where attendance plays a huge role in how good a team can be. Thats also why its funny some new posters come on here and call some of us "fair weather fans" and such...We all come back, despite what some of us say. Irrational at times, of course we are...but fair weather? Thats just funny...
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) I dont really understand the situation in which the girl was reprimanded for talking to the crowd during a football game. And further more, I dont understand how this exposed her parents as being lesbians. Can anyone clue me in here? Speculation Station: I'm not sure why she was reprimanded for talking to the crowd. Unless she was possibly a cheerleader and was out of line or something...But they were probably clued into the parents when they went in to talk to the dean or principal after their daughter was scolded.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) Yes. Shame on those McDonalds bastards... But I don't agree with rewarding her for being an idiot. Like anything you get at McDonalds is good for your health :rolly By my account she won money for being dumb three times: 1. Eating at McDonalds 2. Placing coffee between her legs and spilling it all over herself. 3. Wearing Sweatpants Hmm...you would figure if I can keep up at my current rate of stupidity I should be a millionaire in no time.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) I don't want to get into the whole McDonald's case here, so I hope no one else will reply to this, but in my opinion, using that as a metaphor for a judicial system out of control simply shows a complete misunderstanding of the facts of that case. Thanks that was a good read...
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Uhh.. thank you capt'n obvious. I'm well aware.. it still makes me sick. This is why I avoid these kinda threads...I always end up being the moron
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) I agree with you both. But I don't think "legally" matters. A sympathetic jury is all they need... I would like to see them sue. I would like to see this s*** tested. It makes me sick that children are denied an education based on what happens in their personal lives. When you choose to send your child to a religious school, like it or not, your 'personal lives' are indeed a part of you're educational life. Usually you're not accepted till they do a background interview, etc...
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) Like who, Griffey? The 35 year old who would take up the entire payroll and sit on the DL? He's a piece of s*** player and his career is over. Now you're just being stupid...Sox player or not isn't that an attack against a player?
  11. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) Who had 2 teams in the final four last year, and another in the elite 8. ACC will be down this year. Duke will dominate that conference The Big East is solid, but unspectacular Honestly, I am a little biased, but I think the Big 10 will rule the college basketball landscape this year
  12. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) I guess it just goes to show how cheap the managemnt is on the South Side This has been discussed to DEATH on this board...its no new fact that we don't have a 125 million dollar payroll. I just don't understand why this is coming up now? :banghead
  13. The winner of the AL MVP will be Rodriguez or Ortiz, depending on which team makes the playoffs. No offense to Travis Hafner, but those guys have done it all season, in larger markets. Which we all know matters in the sports world....
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) And where is the option for "Not this crap again"? The button is located right next to the 'panic button'...make sure you press the right one.
  15. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) As of right now, who got the better end of the deal. I know Pods isnt 100%, but if he isnt, then get his ass out of there, all he is doing is hurting this team right now. Lee-.271BA, 32HR, 109RBI, 12SB(2 of 5 after the break), .331OBP, .505SLG Pods-.288BA, 0HR, 24RBI, 56SB(12 of 26 after the break), .351OBP, ..348SLG I dont know about you, but having Lee in the 3 role instead of Carl would make this team a lot better. Take into account how horabile Pods has been, this team would be a hell of a lot better.( remeber we got him to run, if he cant run, he is usless) I am going to now go and take cover, because I have a fealing that you guys are going to bash me for this one. They have both been pretty nonexistant in the second half this year....Lee's numbers have declined and he was out for a while with an injury. The same can be said for Podsednik. They both were vital in both their teams offensive success early in the year. As I've stated before I just can't rationalize what Pods brings to the table when he is not stealing bases. His average is .288 but its an 'empty average' because it includes singles and nothing more. So I guess it would be better to have Lee now, but Pods was so important to the Sox first half run you can't say that trade should'nt have been made. Plus you forgot to mention that it opened up the cash to sign AJP and the Duke. As well as brought in Viz (who has been much better in the second half than he gets credit for). The trade had to be made...this is not the time to second guess.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) Arow 112ks wtih 29bb Wow he has been BAD this year at the plate...that ratio makes me :puke

    What a crock!!

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Thanks G. Regardless.. that thing is still huge!! Still cool...no doubt But I think that would've been a huge news story if it happened in New Orleans. Another giveaway was how the people in the picture were dressed...I mean there is poverty in N.O. but I doubt they would be wearing that kinda stuff out there

    What a crock!!

http://www.snopes.com/katrina/photos/crocodile.asp Pictures are real...but from the Congo in 2003...
  19. The Tigers are 4-19 in the month of September if we can't take at least 3 of 4 from them we might as well just not even show up for the Indians series. The Royals just pwn3d the Tigers...we better do the same next week.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) LMAO@ Your avatar. I think I have posted that pic a few times in a game thread recently. No Suprise there... cough *pic whore* cough So is my avatar better now? I should've known better than to put a monkey in there for two reasons. 1. It probably doesn't work. 2. If it did, my involvement completely removed any of its mystical powers.
  21. You would figure we could score a few runs by happenstance tonight. We couldn't score last night, we didn't score against Johan his last two starts so.......I think i'm just being overally optimistic. Probably bad news for all of us. And SSI you have officially lost it, Shamrock shakes?
  22. For those who love reading blogs and are intrigued or concerned about Hurricane Rita: http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/show.html Dr. Jeff Masters has provided a great breakdown of the hurricane thusfar and gives some interesting historical and meteorological facts along the way.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Winds now up to 150 mph sustained, Category 5 here we come. It might not make it...were gonna have some eye wall collapse going down soon...and then it will restrengthen after the eye wall re-forms. Rita is certainly gonna be a beast
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) You've sat in EVERY seat..?? Having season tickets we roam before the games.. and I would not pay to sit in the 400 level. JMO. Yeah but you're an elitest... I've never even been up there so I can't comment.
