Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
Well, considering they had a historically bad RF and have a gaping hole in SP, it would be pretty logical to fill those spots with money considering next years class has significantly less depth and good players. That's what you should be doing as a competant front office instead of holding the bag praying 1/50 dumpster dives pans out.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
But he hasn't improved. The one remarkable thing about Mazara is he is consistently the same bad player every year.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
No. You also didn't read what I said. And you're making my point. Not only did they trade for a replacement level RF to be a starter, he is also a platoon bat.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
That is literally what they just did by trading for a depth piece to start at RF. The only reason "he makes us better" over last year is because they were historically bad in RF.

Not even close talent wise.

If they aren't getting a plus bat then you need a plus glove. Mazara is neither. I mean yeah why should we be a good team?

Sox Fan Therapy thread
No, but that's kind of the issue. They didn't show any interest at all with the top 3 players available and they are sitting on a stash of money.

They spent like 40 million dollars last year on complete trash ass players while refusing to sign good players.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
I thought Rendon was a waste of resources since this FO pretends to be on a section 8 voucher. With that being said going in on him is the type of aggressive move we need to do. You then use Madrigal for a TOR SP. The fact they weren't in on any of the top players is an indictment on this orginization as a whole.

Remember when the money will be spent and instead of spending money on good MLB talent we traded for a replacement level RF and gave Jose Abreu a 3 year extension worth 50 million dollars?

I can't wait to call Les Grobstein at work to nominate Rick Hahn for bum of the week.

Because he took the QO. That's not the argument.

Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
This lady from the Sox ticket office has been calling me 3x a week for the last 2 or 3 weeks because I told her I was considering season tickets when they called me. Man, I can't wait for her to blow up my phone again.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
You forgot overpaying Abreu for literally no reason. Because that makes the team better over 3 years.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
This team is absolutely maddening.

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
Want to watch FO Shills come out? (Outside of Greg69420) Yeah but they needlessly did because they don't have any real analytics pressure, and like Ricky, they like the gut moves. There was absolutely no reason to give this guy a 2 year 32 million dollar extension aside from being a really fucking bad front office.

Again, I'm fine with that. I would love to trade him for good SP. I don't know how likely that is though.

I wanted Bleday because he actually made sense and was not ranked much different than Vaughn at the time. I got chastized for saying we had 5 or 6 DH/1Bs on the roster already.

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
Sure, I'm perfectly fine with this. I thought Vaughn was not a good signing anyways.

"This deal fucking sucks LOL".

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
Why do smart posters keep forgetting DH is locked up with our team leader the next 3 years? This team never would have reached 70 wins without Abreus leadership.

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
That's really unfortunate because that's what he is.

Like when they said the 250 million dollars to Machado with a hundred escalators would be spent, and they spent 50 of it to 39 year old DH Jose Abreu who's value has been falling off a cliff especially when he's relegated to DH in 2021, and then traded for 0.5 fWAR Nomar Mazara to solidify our -3 WAR RF position last year for 6 and then 8-10 million in 2021, signed Grandal to 70 million (Good) and then just invested the remaining 100+ million because real MLB players that will help your team are too expensive?
