Ritter is already a plus defender as you will see in the video. He has it all defensively. Feet, hands, arm and instincts are all plus. His draft position will all depend on his bat. If he hits and I think he will he'll be a no doubt first rounder. He's big, strong and super athletic w/plus power potential. He showed flashes last year but he needs to be more consistent with it this year. If he hits he's a DUDE.

It always seemed like the smart thing to do. What's the rush? The bullpen is a neccessary evil and teams will be scrambling to add arms after the lockout ends. Why wouldn't they wait for when his market will be at it's highest.

Tough times for the model franchise.

They misread the market not only in the amount/years some of the players received but also in terms of how many teams were aggressive before the lockout. Now they have a rare opportunity to hit the reset button. They have a chance to get their shit together and execute a plan when the lockout is over. Don't fuck it up.

I'm not surprised. Misner is a big and strong dude with big league tools. There will always be someone to dream on a guy like that (ahem) but he has never shown the ability to hit at any level. It's really hard to think he's going to suddenly figure things out now.
