  1. Reinsdorf didn't want to give Halladay the 3yr/$60M extension the Phillies gave him.
  2. I'd rather package him for a player who has a higher chance to hit his ceiling.
  3. I think he has very a little chance to hit that ceiling which isn't nearly as high as it once was. He's been trending in the wrong direction for far too long.
  4. Kopech's red flags are really piling up. He's coming off TJ surgery, he hasn't thrown a competitive pitch in 30 months, he opted out of last season for reasons (???) and he has a history of immature behavior that includes fighting with teammates and yet for some reason he's considered untradeable. I can only imagine the reactions if the Sox were looking to trade for a player with his recent history.
  5. I don't share either of those expectations.
  6. If you're just looking backwards you're never going to see it.
  7. Can't wait to see the number the Mets offered.
  8. Depends. Is Kopech considered an "ace"?
  9. So you're just going to assume he wouldn't have thrown 100 innings last year. Weird but ok.
  10. 100 IP is an odd arbitrary number considering no one threw 100 innings last season.
  11. It doesn't sound like they're willing to broaden the list or take on too much money so the trade options are limited to say the least. BTW- I heard Gray and Suarez to the Mets.
  12. They're not going to trade for any of those players unless they up what they are willing to trade. What they are currently offering is not nearly enough to get a deal of significance done. They were very much in on Musgrove but were unwilling to part with the players to get it done. Maybe a team comes along that is desperate enough to drop payroll that they take a short return but right now it looks like a FA not named Bauer is the likelier scenario.
  13. He was a latin american scout. Now he lives on the back fields. He knows what he's looking at.
  14. They also have a GM who can evaluate players.
  15. Padres and Mets are clowning the rest of the league.
  16. I got the feeling they like where they're sitting and they like the FA options available so they're gonna sit back and wait to see who they get at the best deal.
  17. I got the impression a FA is likelier than a trade. Have you heard something similar?
  18. Sanchez is another catcher who was benched during the playoffs when the games mattered.
