THE GREATEST COLLEGE HITTER EVER!!!!! LOL
-
Tonight is the deadline to offer arb eligible players a contract. Sheets, De Los Santos and Anderson are easy non-tenders. Wilson can go either way. He was horrible last year but was decent the previous two years. I would be mildly surprised if they don't work out a deal with Vaughn.

Pittsburgh did't get a draft pick for Paul Skenes winning ROY because they held him down playing the control game. On top of that he ended up earning that year of service time from winning the award. They fucked it up twice.

TimmyU knows his onions. There's no doubt about that. -
There's a few other posts on that account explaining other adjustments he's working on. He's working on deepening his hands and keeping them closer to his body. I assume this is to make him shorter and quicker to the baseball which will help him be on time more often.

Expecting a big year from this dude next year.

I'm still a believer in Baty. I think he's gonna hit and is an excellent breakout candidate. He's a left handed bat with power that they desperately need. No he's not going to be a longterm third baseman but I think he'll be fine there until Montgomery has to slide over. I think Baty is the major league ready type of player they should be targeting. -

I'd be surprised if the Red Sox were that aggressive. I'm hoping the Mets go berserk. -

Getz setting Paul Janish up to succeed. Novel concept. -
Another guy I would like to see them target is Ben Rice. The Yankees have a ton of decisions to make this off season and if they decide to go a different direction at 1B Rice could be this years Michael Busch. The Sox tried like hell to get Busch last year but they didn't have the prospects to get a deal done. This year they have much better depth in the minors and could easily get a deal done for a much needed left handed power bat.

Colin Rea would be an interesting waiver claim. Slightly more expensive slightly better version of Chris Flexen. I'm a little surprised the holy s%*# cheap as f*** Brewers weren't able to trade him.

Really? With Kopech's history of poor performance, injury and considerable baggage you think they should have gotten more based on 5 appearances? The Dodgers took a flier on him because they can afford to take risks that other teams can't. If another GM makes that move and it goes sideways (which was a strong possibility) that's a move that could get a GM fired. No one was going to put their balls on the table for Michael Kopech.
