  1. I've never heard of a single time Reinsdorf has ever told them to take a certain player. He lets them do their job.
  2. They red flagged him. The medicals scared the hell out of them.
  3. You know why. I think both will be gone soon.
  4. Robert is in one of his funks where the pitcher has to hit his bat. He's just flailing at everything right now.
  5. How the hell does this keep happening. Change your god damn spikes for f*** sakes.
  6. Bad idea and bad execution, Korey.
  7. Wyatt Langford just went thru an 0-27 streak. Hitting is hard.
  8. Yeaaaaaa Baldwin is good again!
  9. Here's a story how NIL is affecting baseball. Last year there was a pretty good D2 player and he deserved a chance to play at the next level. He was a senior so he would have been a late round pick and signed for about $20k. He was offered something around $30k in NIL money from a power 5 team so he went there as a grad senior. I guess he figured he'd double up a signing bonus. Well he got off to a slow start and was buried in the bullpen and threw about 10 innings. The coach didn't care because he's only interested in winning games and he wasn't helping him win games and he's only out a one year roster spot and some booster money. This is what people mean when they say players have to decide if they want a check or a career. If he signed with a pro team he wouldn't get buried because of a slow start. He'd be right back out there again for his next turn and if he was bad again he would be pulled aside for some side work and he'd be right back out there again because minor league coaches don't get paid to win games. They get paid to develop baseball players. Pro teams are in for the long haul and players have to realize that.
  10. This dude can really really really hit.
  11. The Royals (3rd), Dbacks (5th) and Cardinals (7th) all over slotted college players. I'm gonna stop now because it seems this was the strategy of a number of teams.
  12. The Blue Jays went overslot for a college reliever in the 9th.
  13. Thorpe is so good. Absolutely love to watch this guy pitch.
  14. Brody Brecht was overslot.
  15. He's a solid player. Excellent bat to ball skills from the left side, he's an above avg runner, he can stay on the dirt and he has fantastic makeup. He's certainly not flashy but they had success with a similar type player in Brooks Baldwin. He's a good 5th round pick.
  16. He turns 24 in September.
  17. That's why a playoff team will trade for Tommy Pham.
  18. I like Ike.
  19. Why couldn't they wait until they traded Flexen to release Maldy.
  20. I didn't know much about him but damn he looks the part. I don't want to put this on him but he does have some Ben Zobrist in him. Man it would be huge if they hit on a player like this.
  21. I have a buddy who played at Tennessee way before Senzel. He never liked him and I thought he was gonna be a stud. My buddy has been lighting me up for years and when he signed with the Sox I got a text message about 30 seconds later. No one will be happier than me if Senzel hits here. No one.
  22. Wow that's a big risk.
  23. Eblin was a dude in HS. He had serious draft interest but that was the fucked up covid year so he went to school. He didn't much better there but I'm still suprised he went undrafted.
  24. Shirley got an Indiana guy!
