With our offense and BP... give me a guy who can give us 6 reasonable innings and I'll show you a guy with some W's.
-
You should have said his name a couple more times. He's an excellent thought.
-
I like Mike Leake. He is a small guy and not a strike out type which is probably why no one seems to talk about him. Like you say...an innings eater. He would be great as a place holder for Kopech. Fits the 4/5 spot in the rotation very nicely. Nice guy for SP depth as we wait for our young guys to mature.

Are the White Sox "done" making moves until spring training?

I like the ole saying..." some of the best trades are the ones not made". You only risk money with signing a FA. These prospects can come back to bite you for years. Just my opinion. -

By gets real I mean no team is going to pay him like a no doubt about it best pitcher in baseball. He is proven to be one of the best but 35 million per year guaranteed isn't going to happen. I would think his best guaranteed contract might be something like 25 per for 5 years. I would think something like 20 million per for 5 years with real bonuses for games pitched, Cy Youngs, wins above15 or whatever the FO hopes to get out of him. Mainly I don't mind giving a guy like him good money but face it...if he doesn't perform like the best pitcher in baseball he thinks he is...I don't want to be paying him like he is. Seems like the kind of guy who wouldn't mind betting on himself. -

I think Quintana is the probable acquisition to round out the rotation. However, I do believe that if Bauer gets real...the WS would make him a very nice incentive-based offer. Since he seems to have great self-esteem...he might just like that sort of thing. -
Good!

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)

We are very nice and we will discuss his accomplishments ad nauseam. -
I agree. Would love to see Yermin get the DH 3rd Catcher role while we wait for Vaughn to make his debut. Maybe we find Yermin has some value since the NL will have some clubs in need shortly.
-
If we need one anyway...let's get Bauer.
-
I agree with your premise but really... the "dumbest in Soxtalk history"...can't be.
-
As you know...we are not done yet.?
-
Don't get me wrong...I want another pitcher (Bauer preferred) to make the road to the playoffs easier. Bauer would make us a good bet along with the Dodgers to win the WS. However, I have no doubt this team is making the playoffs even with the team as it currently stands.

Garrett Richards to Boston, 1 year $10 million.

I agree 100%. -
Ozuna would be my preference between the two as well.
-
We have a month to go till spring training. Lots of trades and acquisitions can happen until OD. Try a little patience...maybe it will be rewarded.

RH is the best in the business at these extensions. I think the compromise each side made to avoid arbitration is a good sign that everyone is playing nice. -
I think Maloney.Adam is saying that Gio, Lynn, Keuchel, and Cease will produce the 3 necessary quality starters for playoff baseball. I would add Kopech to that equation. I agree with M.A that we have enough to get to the playoffs and once there...you have a chance to win. Obviously, if you add a TOR guy you improve the quality of that 3 starter grouping.

Actually...it would surprise me if Gio isn't extended soon and probably by OD. -

I agree. You don't see me suggesting these trades for our young guns. I'm trying to be all in on Katz and his ability to get through to them. I even have some hope of Lopez finding the magic potion. -

Funny how great pitching can hide a multitude of sins. ? -

JR, KW, and RH work in unison on all major acquisitions IMO. -

If Bauer signs with us for any amount...we are the WS co-favorites with the Dodgers. I think there is a good chance the FO is currently working on this.
