  1. Kluber is intriguing if the price is right. This is where good old fashion scouting comes in.
  2. I say no. Madrigal & Heuer are needed on our club. Free agency has quality pitchers available without giving up anyone.
  3. I would be fine with either. Collins wouldn't be getting enough work for his development IMO.
  4. I agree. Use free-agency to find your pitcher. There are TOR guys and back of rotation guys that cost nothing but money. Let Katz do his work and for goodness sakes...stop with the Madrigal/Vaughn trade ideas. I understand that anyone can be traded but this trading 3 top prospects for 1 perceived TOR guy is not how to build a perennial winner.
  5. Sign Bauer and keep Kelley, Madrigal, and Heuer.
  6. Better sign LaStella first. If the Yankees are having trouble signing him...we will have trouble as well.
  7. With the bullpen we now have...a #5 who can give us 5 reasonable innings is great. Gives the young guys time to find themselves working with Katz.
  8. Now you are getting into the right spirit.☺️
  9. RH is a clever guy. The 54 million is being reported as the largest guaranteed contract as yet this offseason. Glad that we can dispense with all the "JR is cheap" talk.
  10. I 100% agree with everything said here. Extending Gio would be every bit as big of a deal as the Hendriks signing IMO.
  11. Leave it to Rick Hahn to be creative. Love getting Hendriks but he ain't cheap.☺️
  12. I was actually surprised more forum members didn't take the bait.
  13. My point is that only one player (Babe Ruth) made more than the President at that time. Now the minimum wage for all major league players ($507,500) is above the POTUS salary of $400,000.
  14. It was shocking to the public that Babe Ruth made more than the President of the US. Now the baseball minimum wage is $507.5 thousand. Is it any wonder people can't afford to attend games with $10 beers, $4 hot dogs, and $25 parking? I don't blame the owner or the player...I think the fan has to say no to buying the ticket.
  15. Rick Hahn loves creative incentive base contracts and Bauer seems the type to bet on himself. They just may find a way to get together.
  16. Most of us realize he came up to the big club on a fast track. Stealing bases is more than raw speed (timing the pitcher and getting a jump) and we know he won a minor league gold glove in his short minor league career. All in all, I am delighted in his overall first appearances. Going to be getting nothing but better with time.
  17. Dodged that bullet.
  18. Yep...Kluber & Paxton are both a step ahead of Q in my mind. I would settle for any of the three.
  19. Scotty Pods wasn't close to Madrigal in the BA department. My point was small-ball players can be key people on good teams.
  20. Kind of like our own Gordon Beckham. Looked great when he came up...then nothing.
  21. I hope he convinces Lopez to work faster. With a runner on...he looks afraid to throw the ball. Needs some eye of the Tiger aggression.
