  1. In hindsight, Mike Trout would have been a better pick than Jared Mitchell. Hindsight always has 20-20 vision.
  2. Mike Trout was drafted in the #25 slot. The draft is a crapshoot. If you select a player who ends up with a decent major league career...you win.
  3. The thought of Hand as our closer is growing on me. Two years at 8 mil sounds much better than Hendriks 4 yrs at 14/15 per year. Money saved here can be better spent thrown at the starter search.
  4. He's our closer, Katz has fixed Cease, Kopech, Lopez, and TL has retired again. Feel better?
  5. A very good overview of what amounts to Madrigals floor.
  6. Thank you...all good points. It gets exhausting needing to defend a rookie who has reached the big club at supersonic speed and with excellent results.
  7. Kopech is a project until he shows us differently.
  8. These columns that say Houston or Toronto are interested in whoever means nothing. The WS front office is "interested" in over 100 players IMO. That doesn't mean we are making offers to anyone. Columnists have to write about something. They are grasping for things to write about just like us.
  9. Agreed! Expectations are very high including my own.
  10. I certainly think your plan is a reasonable alternative to Hendriks. I still think we get Hendriks but there are alternatives to overpaying for his services.
  11. I agree with you about outs being precious. Madrigal negativity confuses me because he makes fewer outs than most.
  12. I sure hope you are right. The minor league game is the only game in town for many people.
  13. I agree...Hogan has shown patience as I believe my post indicated. I have shown a fair amount of patience in my 60+year WS fandom. My comment is aimed at those with zero patience. The constant harping does nothing but depress the situation instead of being encouraged by the positive direction the club is obviously going in.
  14. No place for him to play. Stick to the knitting and fill positions of need.
  15. If Cease wins most improved...Katz wins MVP.
  16. If Madrigal is our weakest link...start printing the playoff tickets now. We are a lock.
  17. That would require patience which is in very short supply on Soxtalk.
  18. I wonder if the WS will go after Schwarber.
  19. Surprised that not one ballot gives a vote to Grandal.
  20. It will be interesting to see where TR puts him in the batting order. He has the skillset for leadoff, #2, or #9. My guess today would be out of the #9 position but TR will do what he thinks works with the other parts.
  21. Speaking for myself...it never crossed my mind that it was attention-seeking.
  22. Adam Eaton signed very quickly and I think he or his agent was very smart.
  23. Good chance if traded that he would haunt us for 15 years. He is a throwback player and that is out of fashion by some on this forum.
  24. He is certainly the most disliked .340 hitter I can remember.
  25. I imagine a fair number of players have received zero interest at this point. Their anticipation must be on the roof by now. Not everyone is a star with 5 teams bidding on their services.
