We have a month to go till spring training. Lots of trades and acquisitions can happen until OD. Try a little patience...maybe it will be rewarded.

RH is the best in the business at these extensions. I think the compromise each side made to avoid arbitration is a good sign that everyone is playing nice.

I think Maloney.Adam is saying that Gio, Lynn, Keuchel, and Cease will produce the 3 necessary quality starters for playoff baseball. I would add Kopech to that equation. I agree with M.A that we have enough to get to the playoffs and once there...you have a chance to win. Obviously, if you add a TOR guy you improve the quality of that 3 starter grouping.

I agree. You don't see me suggesting these trades for our young guns. I'm trying to be all in on Katz and his ability to get through to them. I even have some hope of Lopez finding the magic potion.

JR, KW, and RH work in unison on all major acquisitions IMO.

If Bauer signs with us for any amount...we are the WS co-favorites with the Dodgers. I think there is a good chance the FO is currently working on this.

I doubt anyone knows what JR would approve other than RH & KW. When you are as far along as we are...a few more million isn't going to stop the FO if it seems like the right move. People go to the Casino all the time with the intention to not lose more than $100 only to chase it with another $25 or more.?

EE was every bit as bad.

Just sign the best FA pitcher JR is willing to pay. I much prefer to give up money instead of players.

Seven inning doubleheaders are one of the changes I hate. Last year was different so I get a temporary change. For regular doubleheaders in non shortened seasons...no way. Constant changes to the game are not to be taken lightly.

Yep. Someone who can hold the fort until Vaughn comes up and an end of career backup catcher. Each one would be a 1-3 million. We don't need more EE types for 10 million. I think JR has 1 more "big" signing left in his wallet for that starter (Bauer or Tanaka preferred).

I have said the same thing about feeling sorry for Katz and our expectations. However, there is no point in having a pitching coach unless he brings something to the table. There was certainly a time when this forum thought Coop walked on water.

I wouldn't bet against Bauer or Tanaka. JR is full of surprises these days.

I hadn't considered T. Walker but you got me to take a look. Not bad! I can't overlook that dumpster you refer to is pretty full. Lots of players don't have jobs and the clubs seem to be in no hurry. Going to have some good bargains available for a backup catcher and/or DH.
