  1. The names being tossed around for Burnes include Madrigal, Kelley, Heuer, and Stiever. All of them with AS potential. No one thought McCann had AS potential but they were wrong. Bottom line...I am not anxious to trade prospects when similar guys are available in free agency.
  2. Being a very bias fan who would love to see it. Secondly, Bauer would only take us up into the 150s which is doable in JR's current mindset. Lastly, I don't think Bauer is going to be quite as expensive as we first thought. RH is very creative if he wants a guy bad enough. I'm not predicting it...just saying it wouldn't surprise me.
  3. I think there is a good chance...at least I'm hoping so.
  4. Would not at all surprise me. JR is planning to go out with a bang. At least I hope so.
  5. I believe JR has planned to go all-in for the big last hurrah of his ownership. I don't believe TL would have exited retirement except for his being promised a loaded team. With free agency and trade markets moving slowly...this is one year we fans can dream as big as we desire IMO.
  6. Comparable to what we got for Sale IMO. Not interested.
  7. Yermin Mercedes would get my curiosity peaked. When else are we going to see if he's worth a place on the 40 man roster? We might turn Yermin into a tradable chip of some worth if we can't use him ourselves.
  8. Kluber is intriguing if the price is right. This is where good old fashion scouting comes in.
  9. I say no. Madrigal & Heuer are needed on our club. Free agency has quality pitchers available without giving up anyone.
  10. I would be fine with either. Collins wouldn't be getting enough work for his development IMO.
  11. I agree. Use free-agency to find your pitcher. There are TOR guys and back of rotation guys that cost nothing but money. Let Katz do his work and for goodness sakes...stop with the Madrigal/Vaughn trade ideas. I understand that anyone can be traded but this trading 3 top prospects for 1 perceived TOR guy is not how to build a perennial winner.
  12. Sign Bauer and keep Kelley, Madrigal, and Heuer.
  13. Better sign LaStella first. If the Yankees are having trouble signing him...we will have trouble as well.
  14. With the bullpen we now have...a #5 who can give us 5 reasonable innings is great. Gives the young guys time to find themselves working with Katz.
  15. RH is a clever guy. The 54 million is being reported as the largest guaranteed contract as yet this offseason. Glad that we can dispense with all the "JR is cheap" talk.
  16. I 100% agree with everything said here. Extending Gio would be every bit as big of a deal as the Hendriks signing IMO.
  17. Leave it to Rick Hahn to be creative. Love getting Hendriks but he ain't cheap.☺️
  18. I was actually surprised more forum members didn't take the bait.
  19. My point is that only one player (Babe Ruth) made more than the President at that time. Now the minimum wage for all major league players ($507,500) is above the POTUS salary of $400,000.
