  1. Imagine buying a team and letting JR manage your investment for a few years. I don't think so.
  2. Ishbia is not investing all this money to answer to anyone. I will be surprised if Ishbia isn't calling the shots by opening day.
  3. Ishiba did not give up his Twins pursuit for the right of first refusal, in my opinion.
  4. I would be shocked if Ishbia isn't named managing partner within days. He would own 60% or more. It doesn't make sense that a billionaire businessman owns the majority of stock, but let's JR do things his way. Jerry can be a minority owner without selling out and creating whatever tax ramifications there might be. This whole thing has been worked out with the minority owners long before we heard word one, IMO.
  5. Obvious they have a deal worked out IMO.
  6. I agree but that has been JR's stance as I understand it.
  7. I do not doubt that control is already worked out. No way Jerry is in charge once the smoke clears. JR needs to work out his capital gains issue...not hang on to do nothing.
  8. Baseball has created a system in which a team or two can afford to spend above the cap while others choose to play small ball. The illusion that any team can win isn't there anymore. I have no idea where tomorrow's fans will be coming from.
  9. Agreed! Jerry could seed managing partner responsibility without any tax consequence. The rest of the sale could be completed after Jerry passes. Ishiba isn't spending additional money to continue being a minority partner.
  10. He's the guy I am in on as well.
  11. A "BIG DAY" in the Poppysox household today. Canceled my MLB.TV subscription today. Between blackouts and JR's indifference... the only way I know is to cast a protest vote.
  12. It will be interesting if a new manager affects some of these guys through better usage,
  13. This was uplifting. Thanks for posting it.
  14. Maldonado was a very big boat.
  15. Ricky Henderson showed us older guys how much offensive a top-shelf runner can produce. It was also highly entertaining for the fans.
  16. After all these turnarounds...this team is going to be very good.
  17. There's not much point in being a fan if we think everything they do is bound to fail.
  18. I prefer a zillionaire that doesn't need to organize a group. Someone who looks at the cap as something to be aware of but isn't paralyzed by it.
  19. I am very optimistic about this kid. My kind of player.
  20. Well sadly...it did not go right.
  21. Take it up with the MLB evaluators. I haven't seen any of them play so obviously I don't have first hand knowledge.
  22. It changes a fan's interest in watching a game occasionally. I presume the major league coaches are the best we have so I'm not buying the lack of development argument. Service time is an ongoing discussion that I see both sides of.
