  1. Apparently, we were not as good as people thought. Likewise, I don't think we will be as bad as people think.
  2. The market said the same for Sale and Quintana until it didn't.
  3. I want the two best players I can get. The add-on's aren't important to me. Quality not quantity.
  4. At what point does your attitude become intolerant?
  5. Yes...with someone in my living room. Getz will get most of what he wants with a bit of patience. This talk of asking too much accompanies virtually every negotiation for a high-priced piece. Cease is a valuable trade chip and no amount of negating that will change the fact that someone will pay the price.
  6. I think 95% will be more accurate.
  7. Yeah...Hawk and I didn't have the benefit of your keen analysis.
  8. Nope...I do like players that can hit to all fields and are good with a glove. Those hitters need to hit around .300 and have an OBP around .340 or so. This guy hit .212 in a short trial. If it's ok with you I will do my own evaluations on the players I like.
  9. Yep...reality sucks!
  10. No...he's not major league ready. Not a bad thought however.
  11. Over the years it seems the team receiving the most players loses the trade in hindsight. I'll take quality over quantity every time. These 5 for 1 deals make me cringe. I want the two best players Getz can get...and one of them should be starting in right field for the 2024 team.
  12. This is sad but true.
  13. A watched pot never boils. Take that.
  14. Yankees scare me. Their prospects are always over promoted.
  15. The Cease deal needs to have next seasons starting right fielder and a 2nd baseman or starting pitcher with upside. I definitely prefer any deal have two high quality and ready for the majors' players rather than someone's idea of a haul (4 or 5 players from down the food chain) has no interest for me.
  16. Good...let's just keep him.
  17. ESPN has him identified as a CFer. Ya just can't trust anyone these days.
  18. Does anyone know if Cowser has a right fielder's arm. I know his range is good since he is primarily a Center Fielder.
  19. Yep...Gio getting almost 20 million for 2 years say all you need to know about Cease and his value.
  20. Noone is saying start both.
  21. Madrigal was traded...not dumped. A team like our WS have the funds for maybe 6 or 7 high-priced so-called stars (12-25 million) and the rest need to be useful players (1-10 million) types. Both Lopez and Madrigal play multiple positions reasonably well. Both can run a little and have OBP in the mid .320's, which would be among the leaders on the white sox. I love that Madrigal has many extended at-bats which help ware down the opposing team's starter IMO. I am aware that I come from the go-go era of white sox baseball and that undoubtedly colors my viewpoint that little slap hitters can be useful.
  22. Why not? The Cubs are deep in outfield prospects and Madrigal is available. Covers our 2 biggest needs realistically.
  23. Thank you for your "opinion."
