Parity is the status of being equal. In my mind 29 to 1 is not equal. Before you say it...neither is 25 to 5.

It feels a bit like being a fan of the Washington Capitals playing the Globetrotters.

The non-baseball fan will talk about these "ridiculous" contracts for a couple days and then go back to being non-baseball fans IMO.

If Gio gets 2/$44M there is a monster haul coming for Cease.

I think we will be much better than people think...but that's just me. Cease brings us that long lost RF bat and a couple plus arms. We were picked to win the division last year. Not having Grandal, Anderson, and that whole group of underperforming bullpen arms is a big plus. Moncada and Benintendi need to be reasonably healthy along with Eloy. Yeah...things need to break well but that's baseball.

You must not have gotten the memo. We can't say anything positive about the team or players. Now you know.

Keeping Eloy is the smart thing to do IMO. Protection for Robert is a real thing.

LaRussa reinvolvement is a mistake. The last thing Getz needs is getting Tony's two cents worth.

The patience Getz has shown in slow walking the Cease trade market is going to pay off big time IMO.

Yeah...around here it always comes down to glass half empty vs glass half full.

Grandal, Bummer, Kelley, Graveman, Lynn, Gio, and Anderson...all gone thank God! Clevenger was OK and Hendriks didn't contribute. DeJong/Mongomery, Lopez/new guy, Stassi/lee, Fedde are all better than who they replaced. So far, I think Getz has done a good job of clearing the dead wood and improving the defense and chemistry until help arrives. New coaches and Bannister are also positives. Some health for Moncada, Eloy, Benintendi, etc. would help a lot. No way will this 2024 squad lose 100...especially when the offseason moves have been completed.

The average batting average in MLB is .245. Lots of teams are not loaded with savages. I know that it sounds trite...but a run saved counts just as much as a run scored.
