He does look good.

Would fit nicely with money not spent foolishly on you know who. Always preferred getting 3 good addition guys for what 1 guy cost.

What do you think he would cost?

If we draft Vaughn we need a plan in place for Jimenez, Abreu, Alonso, Castillo, Palka and who knows who else. I realize we would have a couple years to figure it all out...but can only have so many limited position players. I hate when we try to fit more than one poor defensive players into the lineup.

Salary relief and Sanchez.

Steve Stone was over the top in his praise of Don Cooper on last nights broadcast. Said if the Sox released Cooper his phone would be ringing off the hook in 5 minutes from GM's who realize his value. I imagine Cooper and Steverson can get through to some players while others...not so much.

Very cool.

A big game to win if we want to be part of the central division discussion. I haven't given up yet.

100% agree!

Todd Steverson hadn't impressed me until this year. Improvement in Anderson, Moncada, McCann and Abreu is making me reconsider my opinion.

I don't much care what Fry likes.

Very much agree! This is the kind of break you hope for when involved in a rebuild. Buying a catcher (your on field General) can be expensive for top of the line candidates.

Good reminder that defense plays an important role in winning.

We are always discussing value of now versus later. If he breaks his leg his value will fall off the cliff...if you wait and he continues to be what he is today his value (cost) will soar. Locking up a player who looks to be part of the future at a low but fair price is good business. Worked well when done with Sale, Q and Eaton. Not so well when done with Danks.

McCann is for real. Luck has nothing to do with this guys success. Total stud.

I was thinking Collins and Zuvala too but McCann is changing my thinking fast. Really, really looks good. I'm not expecting this out of this world batting average...his whole manner at the plate is very in control.

Good pitching really helps. Giolito looks like a #1 for now.

This game was flashback 1959.

His manner at the plate continues to remind me of Fisk. I feel like he takes control of the game.

Can't argue. He has been a nice player to watch. That's why I'm looking forward to getting Madrigal up with the Sox. Teams need some of these guys that play big league small ball at a high level. They make things happen with speed and smarts. The big thumpers need someone to drive in.

Two games in a row that were ENTERTAINING!

His framing was not thought to be good by reputation but for my money he is an exceptional framer. Best in my mind since AJ.

On the other hand...Spanish speaking to todays game is a nice plus and players do seem to relate to him. I don't like some of his actions (bunts, etc.) but this is not an easy bullpen to manage.

Definitely want James signed to a nice extension. I don't think luck has anything to do with the fine job he's doing both catching and hitting. Pitchers seem to love pitching to him.

I agree! Earl Weaver was famous for saying you only get 27 outs. Don't waste them.
