I think you are right. The people who know MB would of won, it was guarenteed, are full of s***., No one knows for sure. It is only speculation. I suspect MB would have lost today too. Who knows. But the idea that MB would have won for sure and thus JM gave the game way is just a lot of trash talk. MB has always pitched well against Detroit and given we had won the series with the Yankees - which a lot of people didn't think was possible because we don't "match up" against the other top teams - going to Detroit where of all things we were swept and say what you will about Detroit, they are still a major league team and they want to get something oif this season by smacking us - they beat Anaheim last Sunday and we sure don't need to lose tomorrow night to start the series - besides, who here KNOWS whether MB isn't better served by yet another day of rest. Anyone here talk to the trainer or doctor yesterdaty and today? I hope JM shipped MB to Detroit a day early so he has a full night of rest and all - that's what JM did with Colon when we played Seattle there. But to say that it is a sure thing that we win if MB starts today is just so much bulls***. If it is that easy and that predictable and guarenteed, people, show me your major league managing job and/or the millions of dollars you have won betting on all the guarenteed wins youa re capable of predicting. Hell, show me some success in the soxtalk PTC or YNOT - if it is so easy to know what will happen before the game cuz you are so much smarter than JM. now see there, yes. Sox fans turn on their own too easily in my opinion. If a player is not dogging it (a la, in my opinion, Colon in some games and D'Lo with every breath he took for eaxample) then a slump I will stick with them and wonder why others turn on them. MB was ripped earlier this year and as you point out, PK was and is and why PK is getting all this blasting I have no idea. I don;t understand it. Given my druthers, since it is a long season and no one hoits 400 anymore, if a player is going to ahve a slump, the early part of the season is better than the late part. And it is a team game - everyone slumps - so a player has to give the best that he can and his team mates have to carry him for a while because it happens to everyone and that is why it is a team game. So I certainly agree, the deities fdorgive a player going into a slump because the vultures will be out...

at this moment, I don't think anyone is the AL MVP. Kind of like a Heisman year when no one deserves it but they got to give to someone. I would love to see Frank go on a tear and carry the team to an easy division championship and get the MVP. I'd prefer 4 wins in the world series. yes. news today: budget deficit nears $500 billion and that leaves a lot of stuff off budget where money will; be spent. Years 2-4 of the bush mal-administration are looking for a total deficit of 1.2 trillion. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. As perhaps the biggest PK fan here for many reasons sated and unstated - I want him praised and I have enjoyed the (finally) reasonable discussons of PK that are rational, informed, and can discusss the pros and cons of PK's career and season with the vitriol against those who disagree. In all of my life (3 times + longer than say, soxfan1's life) I have 4 numbered sox jersies and that should say what I think of those 4: Frank, Mags, MB, and PK.
