  1. I am going tonight and tomorrow. Being at the park is my favorite place to be. You guys never would have survived the 1970 season!
  2. Alterity, you are most welcome here - I am not all creative this morning with flowing words and s*** so I'll leave it at that - I have missed you and it is good to be posting with you again.
  3. Can't say as I often fit into the classy department, but this thread was too too much for me to ignore. mathew you are class and you rock
  4. I learned a long time ago, based on situations like this, never brag on a player being god until the game is over - it is a 9 inning game - I felt the game was jinxed when I saw the thread - bad karma, like talking about a no hitter in the 6th - HSC is a true fan and anyone who says otherwise is uninformed or saying that to be a jerk. the downside of 3 Ks of Bonds is that you know he's not going to take that easily - as long as he has another at bat coming, he's more dangerous than ever, the wounded bear thing - HSC made some legitimate "you celebrated too early" comments and in the frustration of the game people attack her - class shows and lack of class shows. There are times the best solution is to just not post rather than take out frustrations via attacks on one another. HSC and my beloved RDW, you rock!

  10. Kornerko hits? to load the bases for Crede?
  11. Ask me what happened at each of the seven Ecumenical Councils of the Church and this pastor has to look it up. Ask me what Lamarr Hoyt's first name is, and that I know!
  12. Over the last 7 games prior to last night how many runs did he want KC - 7 innings ,, 2 earned runs -- LOSS - I bet he wanted 3 runs, is that too much to ask? Minnesota - 7 innings ,, 3 "earned" runs -- LOSS - I bet he wanted 4 runs, is that too much to ask? Oakland -- 6 innings ,, 4 "e" runs -- LOSS - I bet he wanted 4 runs at least to tie, is that too much to ask? Oakland -- 7 and 1/3 ,, 2 "e" runs -- LOSS - I bet he wanted 3 runs, is that too much to ask? Seattle -- 5 innings ,, 4 e runs -- LOSS - not such a great outing Toronto -- 6 innings ,, 2 e runs -- LOSS - I bet he wanted 3 runs, is that too much to ask? LA Dodgers -- 6 innings ,, 2 e runs -- LOSS - I bet he wanted 3 runs, is that too much to ask? The guy won 39 for us going into this season. He is having a down period. "Twerp" (note spelling) and "loser" and "ungrateful" are not words that should be used for MB. If after all he has done for us he gets called names like that, then I'd say f*** you to all the fans. He has earned our respect. MB is a good guy and is probably trying too hard to be too perfect and to to aim too much which is not his game. I wantg MB on the team as long as he is in the majors, and as disappointed (to say the least, I drove 420 some miles yesterday and letf at 1 pm and got home at 3 am to see that... ) as I was with the game and his performance, and the 2-10 record, I still appreciate what he is has done and what he he is trying to do now in his struggles. He has earned a little time and patience with us and I stand by what I said - his team has let him down in run support far more than MB has pitched that badly.
  13. It were simply a matter of dialing up an A game, everyone would have a perfect record - the pitchers would all throw no hitters and every batter would have a 1.000 batting average. Last night was not a good outing. That bad outing was not because MB chose to not bring his A game. Baseball is a team sport and with 10 players out there on offense and defense, when someone is down someone else has to pick it up. This season that has happened rarely. Wunsch looked good but no one else did pitching wise and the 1 hit until the 8th or whatever - that was sad. You all want to jump on players, jump on the whole damn team for not bringing their A game. The only A team players last night were Aaron Rowand on offense, Crede on defense, and Wunsch on the mound -
  14. it made no sense to me at last night - I usually ignore it as being flawed but where I sat last night - on the lower deck! for a change - I was able to follow it all night. It was more accurate when it was doing the pitch count than ikt was at the speeds. Ed and John were giving different speeds than the ball park was showing but I don't know where they were getting their info.
  15. I disagree with that. The dude looked quite good. He is not a bad pitcher at all, not by any means. And our offense was anemic, just terrible. It wasn't that the giants pitcher was bad and we failed to hit him; it was that their their pitcher was good and we failed to hit him. There were very, very few well tagged balls even for outs. As HSC said elsewhere in this thread, what Sox hitters?
  16. I thought Brian Miller was connected to Michigan State, not University of Michigan. If I remember correctly, Lamar Hoyt's real first name was Dewey or at any rate he was called Dewey until he suddenly decided, a la Dick "Don't call me Richie" Allen, to go by another name. I wouldn't want to be called Dewey either.
  17. that is all probably very true I listened to the SCORE on the way home and the dude was whipping people up in an attack MB mode and I suspect it is very easy to do that now for exactly the reasons that you state it was hard to sity in the stands last night and see us get blown out in the first inning - especially with 2 out and a hit that to me could have been an error and whatever, if the paly si amde, out of the inning. However... and the offesne being what it is, you know a 4 run deficit is almost impossible for this team to overcome. The fact that we had 1 hit - 1 lousy hit - until what, the 8th inning and that hit by Rios of all people - people were disgruntled against everything and everyone and MB was the focal point when he was taken out - people thought the prior 3 games meant we turned a corner and then suddenly down 4-0 - go hitless - 8-0 - stay hitless - it was not pleasant to watch.
  18. The so-called St. Louis thing is a nothing comment made in jest as a nod to Mom and Dad and is nothing. The so-called contract - remember that Buehrle, Hahn, and KW had agreed to something and then JR changed it and that is what MB has not signed - had the MB/RH/KW contract been unaltered, MB would have signed. One mild comment yesterday is nothing. Some Sox fans must have the thinnest skins in the world. We have someone good who has done a lot for us and who has a rough period and we s*** on him. To be compared to Boston and Yankee fans is not a compliment. I thought we were better than that. MB is very endearing to me.
  19. I am a witness. I saw it. Zach was in tears.
  20. I favor 8 teams only in each league. I don't give a s*** about the NL but the AL should be composed only of Chicago White Sox Boston Red Sox Cleveland Tribe Detroit Tigers New York Yankees Philadelphia As St Louis Browns Washington Senators
