  1. You didn't offend me and no apology needed. As SI1020 pointed out, it can be a sensitive topic, as he didn't say, for people of a certain age like me (and him) who remember how close we have come to losing the Sox a few times and the departure of the not yet replaced Cards. I know you were kidding.
  2. I just got an email from alterity and it is indeed alterity for real, sure enough! Ncorg said that of course and he is always right but I just used this as a chance to correspond with alterity. A nice thing, he's a good guy.
  3. the quandry of stats, huh? Thanks for posting that My stfu would go those who rip on someone who posted 39 wins in 3 seasons for us going into this season. But stfu is too strong a phrase for what I'd really say - all I'd read say is remember the other. And don't trash our own. But people will do what they want. I don't think MB's comments are any big deal. He wasn't attacing, He was just commenting. The boos he received last night were out of line and who wouldn't react - it is typical MB that is was low key as it was. I think he'll get it around yet this season. I don't buy that MB is the sole reason of our team being down. Look at the batting averages - our offesne has let us down big time game after game. I saw what our batting averages were last night. They are horrendous.
  4. quick, check the thread that says "who has the kw gif?"
  5. zach my very good friend, ask and you shall receive. Anything for you!
  6. even in jest, I dislike that suggestion. We have been close to losing the Sox before and their is no guarentee that at that we would ever get a team back and if so it wouldn;t be ur Sox and who wants a what, decade wait at best for something that is not guarenteed. I know you posted in green but even in jest that suggestion is not what I need to hear this morning after the trip in and back to see my team.
  7. I was at the game and I head his postgame interview. I do not agree that he was b****ing. He made a low key comment - if you hear the actual words and tone of voice. MB did not have it last night but if he had run run support, he'd be no worse than 6-6 now. His run support is like the third lowest in baseball. No, I do not believe that he is regretting not signing the contract. Say what you all will, he has had some very tough outings and given his record for us for all of the time that he has pitched for us, he does not deserve, in my opinion, the volumn of booing that he received last night nor the attacks he is getting here.
  8. Mags is sick - possible flu and a few people on the Sox (org and players) have developed a flu which is merely coincidence or scary since it is two weeks after being in Toronto. That is why AR replaced Mags in what the 7th? (and of course AR hit a home run!). Mags looks weak and not feeling well and if he has the flu and scared of SARS, yeah, he will play not well. The game sucked tonight. The bobblehead is wonderful and I went with friends and I saw other friends and my dogs had a fine time in pet check and greeting people before and after the game. And I saw Frank's new Benz, the largest nonHummer vehicle I have ever seen. And Frank also has a new Humemr so I guess he took the small car tonght. No need to despair that we are 1-1 with the Giants. The expectation oif a sweep of the Giants that some had confused me - they are a very good team.
  9. The real alterity will tell me who his PhD thesis was on - because no one could make that up, or guess. If you eb the real alterity, and I hope youa re, email me or post the answer and I shall respond with something about knuckleheads and stupid beliefs regarding Eucharist which is where we left off on the mlb boards - I suspect I know who that one person was who attacked you so, and it has been hard to be friendly with that person since, as I have missed not only your conversations but also your moderating. And you. A lot. I didn't email you since our last conversation because I wasn't sure if at that time it would cause you more trouble and I did not want to bring trouble into the life of a person for whom I have such respect and affection. Is it a sign of the eschaton that you have posted here, or merely the apocalypse?

a federal suit, filed under federal law - my hunch is that the suit cannot prevail except possibly in one area - the rest of it falls under an attempt to silence free speech, as I read it. The only possible ground that I saw there that has a hope in hell is a tort interference in reference to Culligan. And to establish that and prevail on that, there is probably not enough discovery in the world that will allow any proof, if there is any, to be established. A smoking gun will need to be found and I'll bet none exists. Culligan could have canceled its advertizing for any number of reasons and anyone from Culligan that is deposed will surely say just that. It will just be a house of cards built on inference and I wouldn't bet a nickle on this suit prevailing on the tort claim. who the hell are these people anyway?
  11. Miguel is coming along, just as someone - damn, who was that who said that - said he would. (hey HSC sent you an email)
  12. I do read these and deeply appreicvate your posting them. I just had no comment to make on this one, but it was read - George Kell I associate with the Tigers but then he broadcast their games for a long time

then you might have missed the reports that Bush kept sending CIA reports back to the CIA (and NSA) with the insructions to make the reports match what Bush had pre determined to do. The only person who misled anyone is Bush tricking the American people, and using Colin Powel to lie to lie to the UN. The NPR site would have this info, broadcast last Saturday, I believe. Is there a link to the story? from a different source that NPR - but really, last night on tv and radio and in the written media this story is everywhere -- Bush makes claims with no intelligence......................................... support not sure that this one totally adresses the white house sending back to the intelliegnce agencies to revsie their reports, but NPR is at npr,org and you should be able to find it
  18. so says someone listening to the Charlotte game
  19. if I knew that I would have told you! I have been wondering the same thing. I just passed along what I got in the email. Who we bring up is a curiousity.
