  1. once in 5 years twice in 15 years JM wins again!
  2. the Heather Line... which Clayton was usually above and yet you hated him!
  3. what medicore averages
  4. HSC said, change KW before you change JM or you have the same problems - and HSC also has said no to Valentine. 'Cuse me HSC for talking for you - I am more antiValentine the more I research his history.
  5. Valentine's again Year League Team G W L WP Finish +----+-----------+--------+-----+----+----+------+------+ 1985 AL West Texas 129 53 76 .411 7 1986 AL West Texas 162 87 75 .537 2 1987 AL West Texas 162 75 87 .463 6 1988 AL West Texas 161 70 91 .435 6 1989 AL West Texas 162 83 79 .512 4 1990 AL West Texas 162 83 79 .512 3 1991 AL West Texas 162 85 77 .525 3 1992 AL West Texas 86 45 41 .523 4 1996 NL East NewYorkM 31 12 19 .387 4 1997 NL East NewYorkM 162 88 74 .543 3 1998 NL East NewYorkM 162 88 74 .543 2 1999 NL East NewYorkM 163 97 66 .595 2 2000 NL East NewYorkM 162 94 68 .580 NL 2 2001 NL East NewYorkM 162 82 80 .506 3 2002 NL East NewYorkM 161 75 86 .466 5 +----+-----------+--------+-----+----+----+------+------+ NewYorkM 1003 536 467 .534 Texas 1186 581 605 .490 +----+-----------+--------+-----+----+----+------+------+ TOTAL 2189 1117 1072 .510 so in other words, JM's winning % is better than Valentine's - it is simple math - you want to make a change from JM to someone with a lesser record? And if you want to argue that 512 and 510 are almost the same, then why make a sheer lateral move for a man whose never won a division title in his life - which at least JM has? If you make a change, go for something real, not the tired and old and with a lesser record to boot.

  7. So only once in 15 years has Valentine's record bested JM's best record in 4 years - we don't need that type of change. If we go through the upheaval of a change, lets make it a good one. Backman or Levya. They know the players and are not MLB retreads passed around from team to team.
  8. who would you be afraid of being attracted to? What a completely baseless argument. what's baseless? What is it about some men thhat they think that their sexual allure is so strong it attracts every female and also males? Do they think they are God's gifts to everyone? Are they afraid of being looked at the same they look at women - as meat to be f***ed? Are they afraid that a honest inquiry couldn;t end in a quiet "no'? Is it their fear that no one will come to them and thus destroy their myth of their own irresitibility? Is it that people fear in tohers what they are afraid of in themselves? A person totally secure in their own self would not have any misgivings about a locker room situation because their own identity is so secure. And besides - you are sharing locker rooms with gays right now and have no idea because no one has objectified you or made a move on you. And they won't.

    It would be nice...
  10. who would you be afraid of being attracted to?
  11. check the world AIDS figures now.
  12. book link AIDS, Sexuality and Gender in Africa: The Struggle Continues by Carolyn Baylies (Editor), Janet Bujra (Editor), Gender and AIDS Group (Editor), Carolyn Baglies A brief synopsis of this landmark book, from book World, is "Drawing on first-hand accounts in a continent where about 70% of the world's HIV-positive persons reside, these nine contributions explore the challenges that African women face in the AIDS epidemic as a particularly vulnerable group and their traditional source of strength as members of community groups." AIDS is being transmitted by heterosexual conduct in the place where 70% of AIDS cases are - and this is not like new news - the South African government for example had some highly publicized debates over what to do with AIDS. AIDS being a "gay disease" was discredited as science at about the same time as the "scientific" basis for the inferiority of blacks to whites. Was it just last year that college basketball player in Minnesota was charged with having sex with some 70 women without informing them he was HIV+. And besides, anyone can go to any hospital or foster care agency in this country and volunteer to work with the AIDS babies -children born with AIDS - and they sure didn't get born from anything other then hetero sex. AIDS is a disease like all diseases and respects nothing and is limited to nothing and every person is at risk under the right circumstances. Facts are such pesty things.
  13. what a great insight! rip up those f***ing petitions now!!!!!!!!
  14. i agree..i think backman or leyva should get the job first... Exactly right, baggio.
  15. You wouldn't know the truth if it were a bus that ran over you. Facts are facts and I have already posted the link from the world's major AIDS organizxation and going on with someone who totally hides from truth to support their bigotry is non productive.
  16. its the SCORE so its likely to be bulls*** and may we all be preserved from Bobby Valentine, who has never won a damn thing in his life and has destroyed some good teams. that would just be the same old same old good old boy network. IF JM goes, we have two great candidates already as Rex Hundler said elsewhere today.
  17. that is so factually untrue as to be a parody, like you are a live SNL skit. The majority of AIDS cases in the world are hetero people and that is the chief means of its transmissions in the world and your working knowledge of how AIDS is transmitted is - as I said - a parody.
  18. Being gay is ok. And being gay or being hetero has nothing to do with AIDS. But believe as you wish; God loves everyone, including you.
  19. who knows - its all a gamble - but a change might wake some people up
  20. because they think they can do anything because they are major leaguers. I sure as hope the Sox never pick this guy up. I hated it when we got Cordero. Unless these guys go through some major therapy, it will be the same thing all over again and the Astros did it right at least.
  21. I did the Daubach bandwagon only because some ignorant MLB poster was blasting JM for playing him. But last night I went to bed before the game was over, without even turning it on. The only other time I have done that was when Bevington was manager. I could agree to hang on to to JM if we got a new hitting coach. This weak offense is unacceptable. Too many players are hitting too poorly.
  22. they released him? How much you bet he'll blame his wife for getting him released rather than take responsibility for his own actions?

    Cal Eldred

would be nice if it were so...
  24. I have gone over to the we need a need manager bandwagon, and I trust Rex Hudler's and HSC's opinions here very much
  25. be sure to vote for Clayton as NL shortstop!
