  1. There is nothing sorry about my ass!
  2. 165 game season? I hope we just play the regular 162 with no little extras to determine who gets in the playoffs - and if we go the full limit of 19 possible post season games we will all be crazed --
  3. that was a different deep throat...

    Best Sports Movie

Clayton was the batter announced - and if that wasn't Royce, the actor looked a lot like him. It would make sense either way. An actor playing Clayton could K as well as Clayton.
  5. Buchanan never had that type of inside information that Deep Throat had, plus he was not the person who would have leaked any information. Beyond that, remember from the books that Deep Throat had a certain type of power in communicating with Woodward and Bernstein - marked newspapers and all that - that was way out of Buchanan's league.
  6. I think the Iraqi information minister is the one who writes the economic speechs for the White House these days.
  7. Fred Fielding is a very plausible candidate but I am not totally convionced until Woodward and Bernstein say who it was. I never bought Pat Buchanan being Deep Throat for a minute.
  8. grace is an issue - also an issue is what do we really need to do with these two? For the 15 year old, the idea of 10 years is appalling. When the 15 year old comes out of the state penal system at 25, what kind of person do you rationally expect him to be? This is a person whose life is ahead of him and the proper mix of being in a juvenile home or controled environment with counseling and other assistance, the full range of hard core probation (drug and alcohol testing, etc) and we might hend up with a person who made a dumb mistake when he was 15 but has turned his life around. For the older one - 10 years? Sounds good in theory. Where you going to put all these people and who is to pay for it? Certainly some jail/prison time may be appropriate but the courts will work that out. It is easy to say everyone gets off too light and some sometimes do, but factor in jail populations and overcrowding, and weigh the offense in with the penalties for other like offenses. What we are looking for as a society is deterrance as well as trying to get someone's life turned around. I work in a law office, we do criiminal defense. Sentencing is a complex process and takes in a lot of factors. Someone from the probtation/parole office will do a report with a recommended sentence and the prosecutor will have ample time to address that before the judge before sentence is made. If a sentence is 30 days with all the hard core probation things and maybe tethers or whatever else, with required counseling, etc., and maybe stiff fines or whatever, it may do the job in some cases. In other cases jail time or prison time may be the answer. Each case is different as the factors in each are different. Let the system work. But I am in full accord with steff and bj's sentiments here. 10 years is incredibly excessive. 5 years is incredibly excessive.
  9. I highly doubt this is from Robin Williams. I'd place money that it is another internet urban myth thing.
  10. I'm sure the comments will flow after this post.. Go ahead, lash out at me. I can take it.. But... The guy made a mistake. He, unlike the newest douchebag idiots, apologized several times. He did not use his life misfortunes (his sister did) to excuse the incident. He called himself an idiot, etc, etc.. Has been in a program and has stayed clean (which in itself is a huge accomplishment). He's going to get community service and probation (thanks to Gamboa). Is it enough.. imo, no, but it is what it is. Hopefully the guy stays clean and uses this incident to right the wrong path he was obviously on. People make mistakes (see the "stupidest thing you've ever done thread" ). That's all. Now wise words Steff - thank you
  11. link this is the link for the story - good stuff!
  12. I deeply appreciate your insights on these things - thank you.

    J-LO

don't worry, your time will come, JLo is dating every living male 1 at a time
  14. Hriniak rubs some people the wrong way - players love him or hate him. I want him around for Frank and maybe anyone else who wants to try it his way. But saying no to Walker based on Rex Hundler's comments, which I take very seriously, who else is there out there - let alone available?
  15. that settles it for me; no to Walker

    Grossman!

In the tradition of Tom Harmon, Desmond Howard, Charles Woodson, that is what I see.

    Grossman!

They are different types of qb and I think Navarre is profoudly developing, improving, season to season and will be one of the very best in the country next season. The class Nararre is in is bowl champion. Grossman not in the class.
  18. I like you attitude! and I agree - not that I would have worded it exactly that way but you are exactly right on.

    Garland

of course if he stays inconsistent but a lot oif posters have made some wise comments about JG in this thread,a nd I think we saw his coming of age event on Saturday night. Like MB, he did not get flustered when early difficulty - and then he took action with the HBP - I think JG has finally arrived. Or maybe that is my hope. But I hope that I am right because he is going to pitch again his next time in the rotation and I would rather that I am right, that he has at last turned the corner, than want more inconsistency.
  20. there are little things that JM does when he really really wants a game - I can't describe that per se, it is an art, not a science playing baseball and reading JM - but the toss out and the 1st inning double steal indicated JM sure wanted to win the series againt the Twins -\ best thing is we won with only 3 hits - you don't do that all the time
  21. manuel managed as baggio said - JM doesn't use a double steal much but it has been done before with him - you need smart enough baserunners to do it and it seems we do

    kyoto

http://unfccc.int/resource/docs/convkp/kpeng.html and a million others if you search on google.com with the words "kyoto protocol"
  23. totally right. The injurt was live on tv for all the world to see. I preseume ever NFL team had their medical reports on anyone tat they considered drafting. A little gamesmanship? In sports or business? I am shocked, shocked.

    Grossman!

qb stats for the game Rex Grossman 41-21-0 323 2 51 4 Navarre, John 36-21-0 319 1 49 1 Navarre was sacked once, Grossman 4 times - same number of completions but Navarre threw fewer times to get the same number yardage almost identical Michigan was 10-3 for the year and ranked 9th, Florida was 8-5 and not sure if ranked at all
  25. cwsox

    Grossman!

one other point; the final score of the game was 38-30 - so one play, as always, did not cause Florida or Grossman to lose -
