I too managed an empty wallet, but without buying alcohol - three jackets, one jersey, 3 bobbleheads, two hats, a car flag, a Luis Aparicio baseball figure like the one I had as a kid (my mother gave all the stuff away without permission), 4 shirts, 3 pairs of WS shorts, I pair WS boxers, and 1 pair WS long pants that RPS made fun of, and a pennant that said Comiskey Park, the last available Comiskey item on Sunday afternoon. And I still left kind of pissed (actually raging angry in the car) about the couple items that I wanted and didn't get because I was too slow to buy them. for the boys, two bats, two stuffed Sox figures, a poster, and a jersey and a sweatshirt for the older boy. for the co-workers, WS shot glasses. Loved staying at the Hyatt. I wish every day were SoxFest!

if you saw the forum with KW, JM, Rick Hahn the asst GM and hosting by DJ, I was the guy you said that MB should be offered the contract he has earned. Wished I could have met you. I understand that Rick Hahn is still pissed off at me!
-
I'll be in my #32 Vieri soccer shirt, very hard to miss, I'll look for you and you look for me -
-
by the way, we are a fun group and I am looking forward to meeting you - just Sox fans having fun - your first orange juice is on me!
-
you will be walking into a group of people who love making new friends, that's all, sorry that I in any way confused anything with my lame joke, all we go for with these meetings is making friends
-
No ambush on people, just on the damn booth (because their boards never work right on my macs), and on second thought not such a nice idea so now let's bring them roses and hugs. People who post on WSI and here are just the bestest people ever!

RPS has a bong? I don't know, one can only guess...
-
tell RPS to bring his tape recorder as well as his bong and we'll be all set.
-
we'll discuss this at SoxFest - don't need any John Poindexter or John Ashcroft reading my answer to that question! I am sure I said too much already! Write to me, Babe, when they put me away ---
-
I thnk that RPS interviewing zach23, HSC, baggio, and me would result in some of the most thought provoking and hilarious moments on tape ever recorded, and would impart all wisdom and keep everyone laighing constantly. Just my hunch.

same thing in my books. you owe loyalty to the team that got you there. as a matter of law, and of business, not the same thing at all. I think if you were in MB's situation you'd feel differently. Loyalty goes both ways. KW could show some.

he is bound to the Sox under the labor agreement for a few more years but I don't think he is under a contract right now. The Sox can pay him whatever they will. Is it next year he is eligible for arbitration? That I am not sure of. But as far as I understand it, he is bound to the Sox by the labor agreement but is not under a contract.
-
MB doesn't have a contract now, does he? he's not asking for anything to be renegotiated - all we are talking about is a new contract for this year. I for one do not ever offer to give money back when I have a bad spell at work! I think players do take lesser amounts after bad years, just usually not with the same team. Hence, JB signes with KC for less than he had from Seattle or less than he had with us and LA. Royce (eveyone's favorite) took a pay cut going to Milwaukee. Players do take less, just not normally with the same team.
-
The Sox brought MB up not to do a kid a favor but to win. And MB has won, has been the ace of our staff. Stiffing him for the $15,000 last year was incredible, and to offer him the same contract as last year is, to me, disloyal to a player who ahs done everything that he ahs been asked to do. As for Rowand - if Rowand has a good a two years as MB, yes, then I would say pay AR. But AR hasn't had it yet, so no, for now. What else do any of us work for?
-
That's something I wanna hear So would we all - so would we all.
-
agreed. I do not understand why some players get what they get.
-
But who, in your opinion, was disloyal? To me it was KW by offering an insulting contract (and then implying something way different). And it is KW by even hinting anyone other than MB would start on opening day.
-
who doesn't? Except I don't call them "a bunch," I call them my friends - not everyone lives and dwells in white ghettoes with just an occasional tourist trip out.
-
Gees- what can I say - we are agreeing all the time now - who should be more scared, you or me? You are right (IMneverHO), being given closed head wounds or killed is overkill (excuse the bad pun) for a fan who jumps on the field - if the fan on the field is attacking a player, that is a different set of circumstances - and one swing with the bat and the dude goes down is one thing, continued whapping him is something else - too little information to have an opinion, have to let the court hear all the facts and decide, not us!

HSC controls all of our fates! Friday I will be looking for zach23, RPS and the Mike gang, and anyone else that I can find. I will be wearing a bright yellow soccer shirt, #32, Vieri on the back. Say hi anyone, I'd like to meet everyone who is there. I won't be checking in tomorrow after 12 because I leave work then to head to Chcicago. I am going to try to hit the garage sale first, I think - after that my schedule is whatever, wherever, the only thing I know for sure is saturday morning breakfast with HSC and Baggio -
-
not sure I get what you mean here -
-
not enough information to form an opinion - given the little incident in Comiskey last September, any fan who jumps on the field now has to expect a rough reception however
-
move. we'll have a drink in your honor
-
wear the name tag and I'll be in the soccer jersey - see you. It is always great to meet other Sox fan posters -

You couldn't be talking to a larger group of strange people (or a group of stranger people) except if you were on the MLB boards... oh, that's right ...
