When we make such dumb base running mistakes repeatedly, I wonder where the coaching staff is - does anyone teach the game anymore? I really wonder about that with manuel, we seem to never improve on some of those little but very important things and that is my only complaint about him, which is more of a question anyway.

MB is at a baseball fuinction, which I understand was not a Cards thing but a writers gala - and makes a quip to his family. I don't put too much stock in that. If he was sending a message to KW, so be it, after what KW did to MB. As for LaRussa's comment on tampering, I wonder if that doesn't give us a clue to context - that it was clearly a funny quip from MB and not some serious overture to the Cards.

I was there, I loved it, but I cannot remember the details, and I am at work, far away from my scorecards so I can't look it up - what game was it last year that CLee make that sensational catch? And Heather - keep sticking up for CLee. I think he improves year by year and I look for an awesome year from him this season.

I am not a 50-something. I am barely 50 in chronological years. As you well know I am about 16 emotionally and 12 mentally. It is a challenge keeping up on street lingo living in rural western Michigan but as a man of the hood, I stay down with it dawg.

Going out, styling, to be seen, show off, and impress, wearing a lot of ice (diamonds).

our CLee would never do those things! By the way, I keep looking at Colon's sox scarf. Last SoxFest those scarves were on sale for $3, I know, because I bought all they had for Xmas gifts that I forgot to give and found last week with the tags still on them. So KW gave the guy a $3 scarf. Unless they found one later and KW got it for 50¢. -
Jon is the toilet variety, be nice. Where I come from - which is a country with indoor plumbing - - the restroom is a "john" and "jon" is http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/prof...le?statsId=6620 Because of corporate names I see the word spelled both ways on various different companies' products, actually. Are we really discussing this?

that's fun too, with HSC! of course I can say that since when I stay at her house I sleep in her bed... oh, I probably shouldn't post that - but let me tell you, she is called HotSoxChick for a reason!

CLee has been improving defensively season by season (I know, how can he help it, the level there was not that high...) and I think he has been coming along. The idea of paying CLee $6 mil in the future is daunting though. Well, lets hope he hits 65 homers this season and no one will mind the defense or the salary in years to come. -
Fans come in large part because of habit. And luck. And the schedule. I remember the Memorial weekend series with Cleveland in 2000, should have had a huge crowd, but that saturday it rained all day and there were just a small number of us watching the Sox win 12-3 on a perfect night. And our attendance tailed off at Labor Day in 2000 with the division title on the line because - I think - Sox fans just haven't been accustomed to making Labor Day plans to be at Comiskey, or attend September games. It may take a few seasons of meaningful September games to get the attendance habit there. But look at this year - we have 3, count them 3, f***ing weekend series with the Tigers, no draw what so ever. I think the schedule makers hate us, or hate JR, or something. And we get both the Yankees and the BoSox on weekdays if I recall correctly. The only reason (IMHO) they did the overnight last season when they did was to get a few people to show up to see Montreal. There is no demand for Sox vs Expos games. Decent scheduling would help attendance. Every weekend can't be a great draw, but 3 weekend series with the Tigers? No matter how well the Sox do this season, the 2003 Tigers will not be a draw, and if we struggle on the field getting out of the gate those weekend series will be the usual crowd, or less. On the other hand I like smaller crowds. Easier to get in and out of the park, shorter lines in the johns and at concessions, all that good stuff!

Mike Douglas was doing guest hosts back in the 60s and early 70s. All ideas get recylced again and again - but since no one ahs done it for a while, could be cool. I missed the actual show but I saw his goodbye to cable during the pregame and I thought that was funny. He is somewhat of an acquired taste. Some of his stuff on Fox (I hope it was Fox now that I have typed that) was great and some sucked. But good luck to him! When is this show going to air normally?

don't call me names or I'll have HSC beat you up! (when HSC was born, no one hung a sign that said, "its a girl", the sign said )

I agree and one reason why I think Frank will be back big time in 2003
-
I wish I had a dvd of that glorious time when CLee tried to give Frank tips on base running last season -
-
since Ryan isn't there to pardon you, I wouldn't let you get within 100 feet of KW with an ice pick
-
Yeah and you stay away from players wives, HSC. You met Mrs Todd Ritchie last year and look what happened!
-
A. RPS got back? B. I have better calves than Mags. C. That picture can't be Mags, wrong number. D. Where did that picture of Mags come from? E. Why isn't Mags at SoxFest and why do people dump on Frank for making a late decision to go? (My guess to E is that Mags can't come to SoxFest becayse HSC keeps grabbing his ass.)
-
LDF you really as old as Ncorg? Gees, tell me, was Byrd Lynn really as good of a player when you saw him as he is when I read about him? (my guess: I get this :fyou and this back from LDF...)

HSC, Sox gear has been gang wear since at least 1991 in some parts of the country - where I last lived I couldn't my Sox stuff on the street because it was too hot - probably where I started getting into the habit of buying things and not wearing them! On those Mrs T Piorgi free Sox pennant days, I used to collect all the Mrs T Piorgi free Sox pennants from my friends and give them to the neighborhood kids, they loved gang banners! and B2K is not a gangsta group, much more rythym and blues - that's why I liked seeing the jacket in the video; vintage sports teams gear is all the thing with all the rappers, did you see the commerical during the Super Bowl where they said "without sports, they'd be nothing to wear." Better than seeing all the Yankee and Laker jerseys and the teal s*** all the time... the good thing for fans is that the rappers have created a demand for vintage wear which means more of it will be coming - some guy I read about is making big $$$$ by recreating the vintage stuff for the hip hop crowd. I think that was similiar to that speciality stuff that was emailed by MLB recently (which had, alas, no Sox stuff.)

Never thought I'd read those words in my life. (and I don't agree)

BK2's brand new video (with P Diddy) features a stunning WS jacket that I have never seen before, looks like a new retro look 59 Sox jacket Good to see the White Sox getting some visuals among the Prime Time Players! Xxhibit has a posse member who wears a black Sox jersey, but I haven't seen a WS jacket before today, and never WS gear on a prime timer before. and that is today's fashion note from this board's most emmient rap fan (and probably oldest regular poster, which makes no sense, but what the hell) (and HSC get the charge card ready, I have got to have this jacket!)
-
f***ing fantastic! I can get my MB jersey autographed now - the tickets thing has already been covered so I am just high fivin' the dogs (no one else here) about getting Buehrle's and McDowell's autographs on riday!

Moorman? You are no Bills fan, no way!!!!!! Scott Norwood is the kicker in question. As for Tom Brady, I loved watching him play his college career, including two outstanding years as starting qb, in the same uniform as appears in my signature -

lets talk on Thursday - I have a cap that says cwsox on it but it is probably a bit too small to be convenient - figure out a way to recognise each other - I think zach23 will be there Friday and he is a lot of fun -
