I can't think of a thing that JB - nice guy and sometimes alright pitcher - was ever ACE of, but I think you are right, he surely is the best pitcher on their staff -
-
you live in the bright lights, you gotta take the heat - you can't be a celeb and keep some things secret. You want to live in privacy, do not seek out the limelight. Since Rose is convicted felon and since Rose lives large and is always thrusting himself onto the scene, that is the price you pay. Wasn't that along the lines of what Rose went to jail for before? Then it was undisclosed income that he did not pay taxes on, as I recall (but I could be wrong.)

absolutely true - just because other players aren't on our roster doesn't make them better than our players - at the very least in 2003 Rauch will be a hell of a #5 and in a year or two, if we keep MB and Colon and Garland and Wright develop as expected look at what our starting 5 will be like - and maybe that is why KW is jerking MB around because he is playing the odds that Rauch and Garland will come through big time -
-
whenever a celebrity owes $150,000 back taxes it is news - always is news - it is public record - Willie Nelson's tax problems for example were news until he paid them off - so I am not sure I understand what you are objecting to - help me out please -

I guess having the Stones at Comiskey had some impact... paint it black!
-
I missed that statement - what did AR say? Thanks...
-
So the guy knocks himself out colliding with a post - no wonder he has an attraction to MSU - twice over dumb as a stump. he may pitch well for us, though, if he ever reaches the big leagues, since there are no posts at Comiskey

You are right, that phrase was a bit harsh, but you are not right in thinking that I was referring to your post; I read what you wrote. I will withdraw the harsh phrase; I was writing fast at work.

HSC and GetUpGuy know the Buehrles a lot better than me, and of course I can't speak for them no way in hell, but we did have an interesting exchange of emails yesterday and got to keep confidence with them of course. But I think it is safe to say they like Sox fans a whole lot.
-
The Buehrle family is of the opinion that they like the Sox* and Sox fans a whole lot. *not including management
-
better KC has JB than us - I find it interesting that JB can earn more than twice as much as Buehrle.
-
that would be right

not even if we have eggs?

of course I enjoyed it because of the company!

I pray for that every night. How I wish KW could do his job...

baggio, you know that I am not going to argue with you, my friend - how many GMs are there and how many African American GMs - KW ran a heck of a good farm system and was as qualified as anyone to get named GM - if it came down to two people, Evans or KW, there were undoubtedly many factors. I am damn tired of people talking about race all the time. The familiarity that KW had with the players because of his running the farm system and Schueler's recommendation probably carried a lot of weight. What gets me, baggio, is every time an African American gets hired it is supposedly because they are black. How many people got hired because they are white? (And I think I have mentioned Hundley twice... although you know that I will never let that one go! )

thanks for the review. The set list in September was pretty damn good. Of all things however what I remember most is Jagger breaking into Love Train. Maybe it was because I never expected to hear the Stones sing an O Jays song, I don't think I will ever forget it, it was so surprising. I would imagine by this point of the tour it most be routine to them again. A great thing about September was that it was all new and fresh and the Stones were so into what they were doing.

the concert last september was great. The United Center acoustics are horrid. What was the sound like?

I get really tired of reading the JM and KW were hired because they are African American. All those disadvantaged white men out there who have lost their automatic preferance, cry me a river. Race is obviously still an issue in our society. It is a factor in everything. And when it falls on one side of the equation a few times all the little klaners get so out of joint. KW ran a great farm system and had Schueler's endorsement. While I think he is an asshole given the MB situation, he is an asshole without reference to race. So the white boy Evans should have gotten the job? I can imagine how you all would feel with WS GM Danny Evans signed Todd Hundley, as did Dodger GM Danny Evans. JM won a division title. Oh I know anyone could have won the divison title with that team, so say the experts sitting on the asses who never won anything, but I didn't see Terry Bevington winning anything. And Terry Bevington is why JM was hired. JM didn't get hired because he was black, he got hired because the Sox needed a new manager because TB sucked so bad and the manager we got took us to a division title. Someday JM will be gone. Almost all managers get fired. And I trust that the Sox will hire their next manager on the grounds of who is out there that has what we need, just as JM was hired. Someday KW will be gone (we'll have a party) and I trust we will hire again based on need as we did when we hired KW. For years baseball has been recycling the same tired old white guys into job after job after job as part of the good old boys network. A handful of African Americans get jobs and you start screaming about Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Grow up.

I never liked IRod, glad he is not with us.

signing this dude ain't the equivilant of landing Glavine or Clemens, good move that it is - I would love to be happy with what KW has done but the screw job with MB has put KW on my s*** list for the first time ever - I was pro or neutral on KW until that -

can JP play infield? With Graf out for a while, and JP's waiver situation, wouldn't it make some sense to keep JP as a utility player IF he can play utility? I mean we know we cant lose him for those times when Sandy will be on the DL -
-
Other than Hawk Harrelson's brief - thank God - tenure as GM, I don't remember the fans ever being so angry with the GM, and the level of anger now may exceed that easily

f*** you and f*** your worker bee comment and f*** you going from board to board trashing on HSC. :fyou I tend to agree with HSC because I have sat with her at ball games and she knows her stuff. She isn't wrong that often and when she is I sometimes find out she was right all along. And when she's wrong, she is wrong. But you are way out of line with your insults for people who are her friends. People are her friends because she has earned friends and no one needs nor deserves your insults. For AR, I disagree with you. And that is neither here nor there because people disagree. But your attitude towards anyone who disagrees with you got very old on the MLB boards and it is old here. Have you ever posted wthout bashing someone? If you have, its been so rare its been forgotten. Try being friendly and not insulting everyone who disagrees with you.
