QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) i really like movies and going to the theater to see them. but what you did, i know i am OCD, but that is just crazy. even for me. i got to give you and many credit for that. whew. ... Studying film in college ruined my viewing experiences for awhile but I got over it and can enjoy them for both art and entertainment. It's pretty easy to separate now.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 02:03 PM) Oh, you have seen more movies than me. Man, i know i am wrong now. And ignorant Ha. I did papers in college, breaking down scenes from Raging Bull, Apocalypse Now, and even American Psycho. I would never think any film student would take MoS and break it down like that and be accurate.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 07:25 AM) Take the movie Drive for example....as an auteur movie that was overpraised for its style, minimalist dialogue and hip soundtrack. Better yet, look at Goslings even worse directorial debut. Auteur...maybe, but that doesnt make it not terrible regardless. Sometimes you just need to tell a great story, like the Russian film Leviathan or a documentary like Searching for Sugarman. In the end, great stories and individual performances always trump CGI driven movies like Transformers (the first one at least had a decent albeit formulaic plot)...or Pans Labyrinth will always trump Pacific Rim. I agree with all of this. Drive looked cool but as a movie and everything else, I was bored and saw very little good in it. If Joshua enjoyed MoS, more power to him. Film is subjective. But to try and analyze that mess is a waste of time because it's nothing more than eye candy of a story we've seen 100 times.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 01:06 AM) Thesis on Man of Steel https://vimeo.com/109950825 Michael Bay - What is Bayhem?: And no DC movies had been good? I can name 5 ones that came out recently: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Watchmen, and Man of Steel (Watch the thesis). You're so right, everyone hated The Dark Knight Trilogy. You're the only one that would put Nolans trilogy into this DC universe. As much as Snyder Fan maybe an accredited critic/theorist, I doubt his biased take would convince me.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 09:15 PM) 1. That's kind of an ignorant comment but I will say that based on the 1 minute of footage that we were shown, that it more like a Zack Snyder film, he's embracing his auteur a little more here. (Look up auteur theory) Again we only saw not even a minute of footage and all of it was out of context. Never judge a movie by its trailer, especially its teaser trailer 2. There is nothing wrong with Micheal Bay the filmmaker. You can judge Snyder by his other works including MoS, which looked like garbage and was. He is about as much of an auteur as Brett Ratner is. None of the DC movies have been good nor memorable. If you think so, you're probably in the extreme minority. Yeah, Michael Bay is a good filmmaker. Thats a first.

Daredevil season 2 in 2016 New showrunners as well. Not sure how much that will matter.
  7. Lovett changed his Twitter header to a a pic of him in an Illinois uni. Illini Nation jumping to conclusions!
  8. A super kick Dolph gave Seth last night looked more violent to the head than any curb stomp I've seen.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) He has definitely done it since then. Liar.
  10. I don't think we've seen the punt since, have we?
  11. Yeah, you don't want a move that is over and unique and simple to do, to be shown. Ugh If they don't let him do it on Raw, fine, but PPVs and stuff? Cmon. Than ban punches and head butts and all the kicks to the head guys do. So stupid.
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 02:49 PM) The postgame shows won't be the same. He and OB were always a must listen after a big win or awful loss. One of the few things I listened to on sports talk. Tragic.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) Finished Daredevil. Finale was just about a perfect wrap to the season. I can't see them waiting 2 years for a second season due to the acclaim. Is that the plan? Wait two years? To tie in with Cap America 3 or something?
  14. Kazmir hit Cain in the foot with a slider. No way it was intentional. Nothing like a 100 mph fastball behind the head.
  15. Beans him than walks towards him as Lawrie is calmly taking 1st. What an ass.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 07:33 AM) When Rose is penetrating, he still looks like a HOFer. And thank God Pau can at least block shots. If he couldn't, he would make Boozer look like a lockdown defender. I actually asked myself that yesterday. Were we actually a better defensive team with Boozer the past few years? I still take Pau's offense over him all day.
  17. Rapolous Ivanauskas commits to Northwestern. Lots of people high on him but everytime I've seen him, he turns the ball over and gets out of control and clumsy. See if he has a big senior year.
  18. Saw Tuff Borland from Bolingbrook committed to Buckeyes. Darn. He's good plus an awesome name.
  19. His take out slide at 2nd? GMAB. The butt hurt announcers are funny thinking Lawrie should be psychic and realize the dp wouldn't be turned and to not try and break it up. He ended up spiking him but don't think it was intentional.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 07:40 PM) So if you didn't see the replay and the guys looking at the reply said he missed the tag, you are going to challenge. Sure. The fact is Robin was a victim of apparently bad information. If the replay guys had the angle we saw him make the tag, they need to be replaced. If they had what appears to be the rest of the Sox feed as both radio and TV said he missed, then it would be understandable. What I don't understand is why the Sox replay guys wouldn't have all the angles that are officially used. As for Alexei, he campaigned for several replays last season that didn't quite go as he thiught. And make a f***ing tag. I'm going out and challenging no matter what because you have nothing to lose with the possible winning run in 2nd th no outs. Why did Robin need someone's approval on it? Just go challenge it!

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) Still not interested at all and I'm not sure there is really much that can change that. Zack Snyder sucks balls. Watchmen sucked, Sucker Punch sucked, Man of Steel sucked. I won't watch this unless people absolutely rave about it. Ditto. The whole look of his films and CGI are just brutal to me.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) If Bryan retires in the next few months, which sounds more and more likely every day, it will mean that my 2 favorite wrestlers- Punk & Bryan- have left in the past year or so. Ugh. I'd just have him get the surgery where he maybe out for a year. Still young. I know it's not perfect choice but whatever.
  23. Our first game isn't until the 30th. Unless rain pushes it back like every year

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 16, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) I'm on episode 6, the fight scenes are just incredible. Love the single shot rfight at the end of e2.
