Crash
QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) Jewish people are very upset that there was not a jewish character in crash... give me a f***ing break. THe whole brendan fraser/sandra bullock story was lacking as a whole to me. While we know she was not happy/depressed i would have liked to know why she was how she was more than the lame explanation they gave. Terrence howard while i heard he is a prick in real life is a fantastic actor. In the last year and a half he has been in crash, ray, hustle and flow, and lackawanna blues... all very good movies in there respective ways. Have you by chance seen him in hustle and flow? There has been some oscar buzz for his performance in it. Nope, but it's on my "must-see list". I'm interested in seeing how Ludacris does playing a character more similar to himself, I assume it's pretty seemless?

DeAngelo Hall Wallpaper
QUOTE(Goldmember @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) i imagine t.o. was talking s*** most of the game and hall couldnt respond per mora's orders, so when game was in the bag he was able to get a thing or two off his chest. would have been better for him not to respond but being in his position i dont think i could have shut up during the game like he did let alone not respond at the end... Who knows, I probably would have acted like an asshole too.

PTA to make new ensemble film
QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) It is rumored that daniel day lewis wants this part ( main part) and has even agreed to do it... but nothing official yet. Yah, I read that on the message board. I think I'm going to check out the book before the movie, if it ever gets made. I just hope this doesn't turn into a big Bush bashing movie like Silver City, not that Silver City wasn't awesome.

Crash
I got this on dvd the day it came out and it has to be one of my favourite dvds, I watched it twice on that very day. Crash is easily my favorite movie of 2005 with Sin City and The Devil's Rejects trailing VERY far behind. I've seen endless complaints about how the movie tries too hard to be important, is pretentious, and has too many impossible consequences, but I can only agree with that last point. This movie takes coincidences to a whole new level not seen, even in the likes of Pulp Fiction, but I've never had a problem with film leaving the boundaries of what is I guess, considered plausible. Of course this doesn't mean I don't get mad when a bus jumps a 2 football field gap, whoa! weird Sandra Bullock coincidence. Now I've also seen people complain how the movie tries too hard to evoke emotion from the audience, so I guess some people just weren't into the characters or something because I haven't cared about a group of characters like this since Magnolia and Shawshank Redemption. And lets be honest 99.9% of filmmakers wish they could evoke half the emotion that comes pouring out of the cinematography, score and actors. I'd also like to tackle this idea that the film tried to be too important and was prententious. Most of the time filmmakers try to make a film that is important and compelling so I don't really know what the problem is here. And lets consider that Crash doesn't really even force anything upon us, Crash says that life isn't simple and neither are the characters, and you don't really know the characters and maybe you don't even know yourself. 9.9/10 Brendan Fraser seemed somewhat lacking.

DeAngelo Hall Wallpaper
Amazing wallpaper and I'm a huge fan of the Falcons but Hall's performance at the end of the game annoyed me. He goes about his business for 4 quarters plays great ball and then at the end of the game gets right up in TO's face. Sure TO is a clown but whatever happened to being a good winner? Some role model.

Delta, Northwest Declare bankruptcy
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) With such a high percentage of the airline industry in bankruptcy right now, it should be plainly obvious that there is something seriously wrong structurally with the business models being run by these companies. This is an overcrowded marketplace being hammered by a number of issues (fuel prices, terrorism), and right now it looks like there just isn't space for the airlines which aren't being very well run. Pretty soon, a couple of these companies are going to need to disappear. Canadian airlines have had the exact same struggles.

Pledge of Allegiance declared unconstitutional

Pledge of Allegiance declared unconstitutional
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) It was really pointless anyways.... Kids said it but they never thought about it....I always thought it was kind of a waste of time. Just wondering that if along with the pledge of allegiance do K-12 students have to stand for the anthem in the States? We just always had our anthem and dat was dat.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) Blah, blah, blah. Pointing out the facts does not make me an extremist but then anyone who dares disagree with you is probably worthy of that label in the little bubble you live in anyway. :rolly Lets join Nuke in today's epsiode of pointing out the facts! This is right out of Ann Coulter's extreme right wing talking points collection, and I'm surprised you're going to this level Nuke. episode #2 with Nukey Cleveland Damnit Wong can't you see the truth, that's all Nuke is trying to profess!

I'm kind of surprised the vote is this close. I go with Buehrle. He's been the man on this team for a number of years now and his season thus far has been great. He's our best pitcher and he deserves it.- White Sox @ Royals 9/13 Gamethread

That's an embarassment. For the border troops to not even have access to weapons is completely mind-boggling. This is actually a case where the government is more leftist than the union. - George W. Bush Needs a Bathroom Break
