  1. I like a lot of movies...way too many to post so I'll post a classic that hasn't been metnioned here yet. The Deer Hunter
  2. hahaha...no comment necessary.
  3. 1)I like oxymorons... 2)I like when the sox unleash a chaotic barrage of hits against the other team and keep their cool doing it...in other words Controlled Chaos.
  4. Don't play the martyr on the air it doesn't sell. Anyway keep me updated when you're on...I'll check ya out...I live in Lisle.
  5. I don't understand all the bashing. I guess it's just the "in" thing to do. I mean he is blamed for everything....from stud Free Agents not working out to the architecture of the park. I say cut the guy some slack. He want's to win as bad as any of us and to say he doesn't is just a crock. Yeah I wish he would spend more but it IS a business. Instead of all the Reinsdorf bashing I say we have a "Fill the Park Day" If you care about the team come to the game. Show the team all the fans it really has and that we enjoy all the improvements that were made FOR THE FANS. Let's pick like a weekend game and load the place up. Bring signs THAT day. Maybe if Reinsdorf sees the park filled and realizes all the fans that would come if he keeps the team competitve then he'll stretch the budget a little more. I think a FILL THE PARK day would really catch on and maybe a lot of people would come just to be a part of it. After being there they might realize which park is the best in this town. With all the Sox websites as well as the radio guys and tv guys...I bet we could spread the word and get something done. I know there's a lot more fans out there that care about this team...
  6. I saw Reinsdorf last year in the BPB. It was way after the game ended and I was hanging out with my friends(one of em was on leave from army) He seemed like a pretty cool guy. I was like JERRY we need some pitching and he said tell me about it...these guys are gonna give me a fricken heart attack.
  7. Illinois Man Arrested In N.J. With Explosive Devices Live Grenades, Gas Containers Among Items Found In Car POSTED: 6:30 am CDT May 27, 2004 UPDATED: 6:50 am CDT May 27, 2004 PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. -- Federal authorities arrested an Illinois man in Pleasantville, N.J., Wednesday night and found explosive devices in the car he was driving. Images: Illinois Man Arrested In N.J. Records indicate that the car is registered to a man in North Riverside, Ill., who may have lived on the city's north side. Police initially pulled the man over because they suspected him of fraud and then discovered the explosive devices. Officers found several devices inside the Toyota Camry -- including two live grenades, several gas containers, a funnel, WD-40, and several rags. The FBI did not release more information about the suspect, but police confirmed they also found several different forms of identification in the man's possession, each with a different name. http://www.nbc5.com/news/3351936/detail.ht...994&dppid=65192
  8. God Bless ya NUKE!! Stay safe and thanks for doing what you do!!!!!!
  9. I'm 30.....Why??? Are you associating a specific age with maturity? I associate immaturity with people who go looking for trouble. I think that a CUBS fan coming to a WHITE SOX game in CUBS gear when they are playing Texas is simply there to start s***. I was at a game last year against I think either KC or Cleveland and there was a CUBS fan there with a sign that said Sox suck. WHY?? Why would he be there...What the f*** does he care about that game. He would hold it up anytime the other team did something good. He was asking for trouble...and he got it. I have NO problem coming to support your team if your team is playing. That is an ENTIRELY different situation. However, if you come to sox park just to get drunk and root against the home team, then expect problems. I know this doesn't exist in your mature, utopian, turn the other cheek universe, but it exists in the real world. If you go looking for s***, you gonna get the stank on you!!!!!! It's pretty simple to me...ya don't go into someone else's neighborhood and start pushing buttons. It's something you should learn when you're a kid...maybe YOU didn't. With all that said...I know there are just drunken idiots who like to be drunken idiots and if half price days are designed for FAMILIES to be able to afford a game...then I think the Sox need to step up to the plate and cut off beer at like the 4th or 5th inning. If you can afford the beer at the cell, then you can afford to go when it isn't half price night either.
  10. My Opinion.... If you wear a Cubs hat and Cubs jersey to the Sox game when the Sox aren't playing the Cubs...then be prepared to hear some s***. Now if you compound wearing the gear with talking some smack, then be prepared to get slapped around. It's stupid and looking for trouble...if you're the type that likes to start s***..then wear it. The only reason to come to a SOX game and wear cubs s*** is to start trouble. It's just that simple. I'm not saying sox fans are innocent or angels. I know some fights are just drunken idiots regardless of fan affiliation. I'm just saying if you are the guy wearing a Cubs jersey to a Sox Rangers game...then you are there to start s***. If a guy was wearing cubs gear to a game I was at and they weren't playing the cubs...I'd lay into him all game.... It's simple as that to me....I wouldn't go to wrigley when they weren't playing the sox and wear my sox jersey. I mean it is just plain stuppid. It is looking for trouble and yes I have gotten PLENTY of s*** wearing that when they did play the sox. It ain't so innocent over there.
  11. I'm for Lisa or Laurie...I think Lisa fits the bill though...
  12. I agree 100%. Corg is also one of the reasons I sought out another board and I'm glad I found soxtalk.
  13. Ok, Here's the deal...the gates will open at 5:35. If you want to sit on the field, you better be there by then. I would suggest more closer to five. As soon as the gates open...go to the bar...have your ID's out and ready...show them to the guy at the door...then go in, turn left and get to the door that let's you outside. They will give you a sticker and then grab a table. Everybody needs to have a seat outside. So if you have more than four people then the other peeps will have to have their own table(4 per.) They only give out enough stickers to fill the tables...which is why ya need to be there early. Once in awhile, there are people who will leave their BP seats to go to their real seats...if you wait in line...you can get their stickers when they leave. That sticker is a hot item...don't lose it. Once you're outside and have you're table then grab some beers and enjoy batting practice. Remember it's only about 5:30 and the game doesn't start till 7:05. Pace yourself or you'll be a puddle by the 5th inning. Now, if you want to sit in the upper level of the BP bar it's different. Right after you enter the bar...you'll see on your right side where you can purchase a pass to go upstairs. That'll cost ya 10 bucks. If you can't get on the field I would suggest heading over here and trying to sit up top. Personally I would by some cheap uppertank tix(half price night.) Get to the park by 5:00 and sit lower level on the field. It's a great deal...just don't get wasted and make an ass out of yourself or us whitesox fans in general. Have fun....
  14. Why am I getting the feeling we will be seeing another poll shortly??
  15. haha...Actually, a couple places do. I can't think of the exact ones, but I know I always find it strange when I hear "all we have is RC; is that ok?" For the record....I do like RC the best....
  16. POP but when in a restaurant and the waiter/waitress asks "what would you like to drink" I don't answer "a pop" I say "I'll have a Coke" and then I go through the whole..."umm we have pepsi is that ok" or "we have RC is that ok" and im just like yeah it's all the same s*** to me.
  17. Thanks for including my post in there, cause that has just as much factual weight as does FlaSoxxJim's. So yes, I guess I can read and comprehend...I just don't see American's as the bad guys all the time, so I have a different perspective. he says..."Killed during an interrogation gone wrong" I say..."suffered a heart attack during questioning" (which has been reported, but the word "killed" let's the reader wonder) he says "the IV was put on the body after the fact to cover the asses of the US interrogators" I say "hooked up the IV and put him on a gurney so as to not incite the other prisoners" Do we know who is right?? Nope. It's just how it is written and unfortunately the Leftist media prefers the prior version 10 out of 10 times. There's more shock in blaming ourselves the big bad US.
  18. you don't know what happened...but you speculate and spread your speculation. If the man died of a heart attack and the soldiers hooked up the IV and put him on a gurney so as to not incite the other prisoners....then I don't see anything wrong. If they murdered the prisoner...then I do see a problem....you just automatically assumed we murdered him. If you want to know what I despise, it's mostly your posts.
  19. Interesting response to my response I never said the Americans over there didn't care what they think. I believe the Americans over there want it to become a civilized place. I was simply expounding on your "I can't say I blame them" for despising us chatter. Cause I do blame them. We are sacrificing our lives, partially, for them to live a better one. Muslims are outraged by the humiliation of other muslims?? Are they outraged at any non muslim atrocious acts?? Were they outraged when planes flew into the towers or were they dancing in the streets, just as they were when Berg had his head chopped off. Outraged at Daniel Pearl? Outraged when Civilian contractors helping rebuild their city are murdered?? NOPE... They show a lack of respect for LIVING Americans as well. Maybe in your twisted mind you think I rationalized the beheading of an American civilian, but there is no rationalization. You think beheading Berg was a response?? Gimmie a break You think roadside bombs are a response?? Suicide bombs? Mortar attacks? They are not responses...They are reactions by a people who had it their way for many years under Sadaams rule and now they don't want to change. They are bad people...and they don't want to let go their reign of terror. Most of this "torture" amounted to fraternity pranks. I personally don't give a f*** if Iraqi's think that being humiliated is worse than dying. That is their own f***ed up way of thinking. If making these people pile on top of each other naked and then telling them "I'm going to show these pictures to your family" gets them to disclose the location of some roadside bombs or a cache of weapons, or WMD's, which in turn saves lives...then I'm all for it. I am fully against any physical abuse that occured....and those perpetrators will be tried and punished, but if they can humilate a prisoner and get them to talk...then I say use it. I am not as compassionate for these people as I am for my own people. I do give the benefit of the doubt to our leaders and soldiers over the word of the consipracy theorists around the world. Capital Punishment for humiliation?????? Let's get some perspective here....You are so willing to persecute our own... Do you know that these prisoners weren't one time guards at that prison that commited torture that we couldn't even imagine? No you don't. Do you know that they were not soldiers that at one time commited mass murders? No you don't. Do you know that they are not attempted murderers of Americans? Nope!! but you want capital punishment for our soldiers. Jayson Williams, admittedly, shot a guy in cold blood and probably won't even serve 3 years...you want capital punihsment for American Soldiers. What a joke... The Olympic program in Iraq, run by Uday Hussein, was brutal. The punishment for losing? Iraqi athletes endured scalded feet, toenails ripped off, beatings and draggings on pavement followed by a dunking in sewage to ensure infection of wounds. Hidden outside the Iraqi national Olympic committee administrative headquarters, reporters found an obviously well-used iron maiden -- a sarcophagus-shaped device with long spikes on the inside door to impale its unwilling resident. How do we know that these prisoners didn't commit these acts. You are outraged at embarassment?? Humiliation?? That is what some of these people did to their Olympic hero's. If someone mudered your entire family and buried them somewhere. Would you be against humiliating that person to get them to tell you where they are? If your answer is NO then you are a VERY misguided person. You are aware that Iraq had bad people living there. You do know that many of those prisoners committed acts far far more atrocious then what we have done. The picture painted by the media is that everyone in Iraq is a nice person and we did these horrible things to these poor innocent people. Many of those people would put a bullet right through your skull just because you are non muslim....and then the others would dance around and cheer....chew on that for awhile.
  20. I think the average American can care less what the average Iraqi thinks. I see the pictures of Americans hanging from bridges and I DESPISE them. Can you blame me for that????????? I'll bet you do...
  21. Thanks for the offer Steff!! I'll try and swing by. I was pissed I missed everyone on opening day. Sunday is probably my best chance to stop by, but it'll be tough cause I'm golfing in the morning. If not we'll definitely hook up next time! Either way let's bring home a series winner!!
  22. I don't know who it is...but I don't think it's an Olsen twin. By the way...I'll be there all 3 games!!!!!
  23. Blah Blah Blah..... Move then.
  24. The only call-ups that look like superstars are the ones that play the sox. I thought Diaz did a pretty good job. The hitters just made the adjustment as the game went on. Diaz will learn to counter adjust as well. He's got pretty good stuff. I look forward to his next outing.
