QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) It is toxic if ingested, so if you have a toddler, or a dog, you might not want it. All the sites I've looked at say it's non-toxic and if it's accidentally ingested it will just pass through the digestive system.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) Here's a question...why do people call it "pro-abortion?" It's pro-choice. Big difference. Many people are for a woman's right to choose, but wouldn't choose to do it themselves if put in that situation. That has always bothered me. See Tebow thread.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) Are you talking the loose stuff or the mats? loose stuff....it's recycled rubber tires. Like this stuff... http://www.rubberecycle.com/playground_rubber_mulch.asp

Anyone have any experience with it? Thinking of using it under a playset. Some people swear its the best stuff, others have complained it gets too hot and has an order.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) Considering the hell that the new Jimbos (what's it gonna be called) is going through I'm guessing a lot of blame also falls on the city of chicago for their absurdly difficult zoning and regulations. I think cork & kerry Edit: Weird coincidence, my dad's buddy who lives over there just sent a pic....

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 09:31 AM) For real. That one game where we needed to bunt him to 2nd come to mind. I thought we acquired him to make it to 2nd without a bunt. That made me sick...Take the bat out of Becks hands twice....to bunt over our speedster

Meh...I'll take the convenience of a gas grill. Sacrifice a little taste maybe, but nothing like being able to cook instantly with little to no clean up. Comparison Ideal situation would be to have both.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 07:04 AM) It is with conservatives. I'm conservative...do you know my feelings on the issue?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) That is most likely salary. Once you hit the top of the wage scale, and add to it things like summer school, outside coaching, and an advanced degree, which all bump those mumbers up, we have teachers in our district pushing 90k. I don't know much about the topic, but it seems like they get bumps in pay and it has nothing at all to do with their or their students performance. Like a bump in pay just for advanced schooling, a bump in pay for time on the job. I also don't know how accurate this is, but my friend told me this about his wife who is a teacher. When a school is hiring a teacher, they can't call the previous school the teacher worked at and get any negative information....said something about the union rules or something. To me this goes against all logic....anyone have any insight on this? I always noticed she took a ton of days off, and I was like when she goes to get another job....isn't the school gonna tell the next school how much time she missed and he said they can't do that.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:09 AM) Did you use that recipe that somebody(can't remember who) on here posted? I tried it and they were awesome. I still have it if anybody wants it. poof. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...59144&st=30

QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:17 AM) Obviously we are not Cleveland fans, and I certainly don't expect boos, but are you expecting an overly-generous ovation? Standing? Along the same lines, do you expect the Sox to do something special on the scoreboard. Should be interesting... let's not hope he beats Danksy tonight. For sure standing O...dude is nothing but class. Then lets watch Danks 'K' him 3 times.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:28 AM) Flash Forward was incredible last night. The last minute reminded me of why I fell in love with LOST in the early seasons, and I'm sure that is not coincidence. That is how you work a plot twist to a 'T' Agree 100%. I didn't see that coming at all.

Things seen/heard at Opening Day
Controlled Chaos replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 07:25 AM) Which Soxtalker was this??? Wow....not what I expected when I came in to the "Things/seen heard at Opening Day" thread. Classy couple right there. Anyway... Beer is $7.00 bottle. $6.50 for 16oz draft and $7.50 for 20oz Lite. I don't remember there being a choice last year. I think I hit had my BoDeans listening limit for the year. It was pretty much a perfect opening day though. -
is teabagging an accepted term now?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) 06 and 04 were the coolest I kinda like 09 too, with AJ coming out of the top.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) I wonder if Soxtalk graphics people could do a better job. No doubt. This years has no creativity. It looks like a bookmark. 06 was the best 01-05 06-08 09-10

Apparent shoebombing actually just douchebag Diplo
Controlled Chaos replied to bmags's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 07:01 AM) Yep, what was originally reported and thought was a shoe bombing was actually just the Qatar diplomat being a douchebag and smoking in the bathroom. And when asked by air marshals, he joked that he was lighting his shoe on fire. Funny, right? You know what makes it less funny...douchebag is a diplomat, and therefore has diplomatic immunity. I can't see this without thinking of that constipated lookin putz from Lethal Weapon 2. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) Dude... take it down a notch. Wasn't a big deal, just thought it was trite and unnecessary. The polarization stuff is just getting to me. We've lost a lot of great conversation lately, because everyone seems required to shout from the extremes. Calling half the posters in here stupid - which is what you did - just isn't helping anything. That's all I'm saying. I'm not up a notch...I just disagree with you. Why is the new thing to paint everyone as angry?? I just feel your post was uneccesary and you did so not based on facts, but interpretation. I did not call anyone stupid, I did not shout from the extremes...yet here comes the thread police. You want to know why your losing great conversation...its because this place has become one sided.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 11:05 AM) Was that last part really necessary? Your post is kinda unnecessary. I mean s*** dude...pretty sure you have a clue about what is said on daily basis about conservatives. I didn't personally attack anyone. I'm in the repub thread and made a pretty insignificant dig, if you can even call it that.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) He meant that about as literally as Sean Hannity meant his "Tim McVeigh wannabes" comment a few days ago. That is to say, not at all. You see where he stopped because he thought the admiral or whoever was testifying was going to laugh and he basically ignored it. I'm surprised so many people think is really that mind-numblingly stupid and meant that, he actually had to issue a statement after that where he said something like he is worried that the island is going to be overpopulated. Well Hannity has proof of the sarcasm as this article from before the show illustrates. "We've got veterans, we've got stay-at-home moms, people who really don't like the direction of the country. They're speaking out and they've been compared to terrorists, Tim McVeigh-wannabes. They've been called un-American. They've been called every name in the book. Now, the latest attack is that these people are violent," he said. Of course that's ignored even in the Dem thread on this site...where we have so many highly educated and logical posters..
