There's zero truth to anything you said. Framing is incredibly important. Sure guys can get better at it but there's a massive gap between Realmuto's framing and someone like Collins. And it's not zero sum game between framing and game-calling. Really though, its amusing to see how even one of the best players at his position, Grandal, isn't good enough for half our fanbase, and gets shredded by the "eye test" crowd. It's also depressing though because the default position seems to be: Any Sox player = terrible Any non-Sox player = amazing
-
I did since 2019, now try again
-
Ok. Since 2019, Grandal ranks: WAR: 2nd Defensive Rating: 7th GP: 4th You and Rob might want to find a different player to me statistically wrong criticisms about
-
lol. He had a knee injury this year. Nobody disputes that.
-
The injury prone bash really made me laugh though, so thanks for that. I mean, imagine calling the catcher who is 3rd in MLB in games played since 2015 "injury prone", lol.
-
Your OPINION runs contrary to basic stats. Since 2015, Grandal ranks among MLB C WAR: 1st Defensive Rating (Fangraphs): 1st Games Played: 3rd Yeah that definitely sounds like the injury prone, horrible defensive catcher we should trade away, lol
-
I'm still in awe. Let me guess, you think Moncada sucks too, right?
-
If posters like you were GM we'd be 0-162 every season. I mean wow, what a terrible take
-
lol at complaining about these threads then suggesting trading Grandal. Grandal has played 139 games since 2020 and put up 5.3 fWAR. That's elite production, and obviously he was playing hurt for most of the year. How do so many of our fans not understand how good Grandal is?
-
Possible they'd agree on a 2 year deal, might be a good option for both Marshall and the Sox
-
The always hilarious 1st offseason meltdown thread from the worst fanbase in all of sports. This thread is already embarassing. The #1 offseason priority needs to be for 75% of Soxtalk to become Cubs fans.
-
Everyone would love Semien. He leads MLB in WAR since 2019. He'll get something like 6 yrs $180 million most likely
-
lol ok. Nobody worries like our fanbase
-
People on here get actually upset when Leury has success. I don't get some of our fanbase.
-
No it doesn't. 26 expanding to 28 is pretty ideal. Not everything requires a dumb "the cheap owners won't allow it" comment. Especially when the difference for most teams would only be a few million dollars
-
Also, let's be real, it isn't just a "Kimbrel problem". The whole bullpen outside of Tepera and ReyLo is shaky and underperforming
-
His velo is not down. He's struggling with command but why lie about something as easy to verify as velo?
-
I feel like he must be tipping vs the Cubs. 7 runs in 2.2 IP vs them 3 runs in 7.2 vs everyone else
-
How would Madrigal help right now? He's injured. Agree on Kimbrel though. We have a 11.5 game division lead. Got to see if Kimbrel can be the set up guy now, rather than have roles up in the air in October
-
Why do people post false statements like this. This is just like the fans who bash Moncada for not being able to hit with RISP when he has better numbers in those situations. On July 3 Keuchel had an ERA of 4.48. Today his ERA has exploded all the way to......uh 4.48.
-
Padres started Jake Arrieta today in Coors. That's where their rotation is at right now lol
-
Why though? He had a 7.20 ERA in AAA and almost certainly would have been dropped from the 40 in the off-season. Wright probably gets dropped from the 40 in the off-season too but he's likely the better option to help fill innings right now He's a good pickup for someone like the O's but without being able to throw 99-101 like he used to be able it's hard to see him sticking in a MLB bullpen.

Yeah when that Mariners pitcher got caught vs us they made a big deal of putting his glove in a sealed plastic bag. No indication that happened here. Not the worst thing to get Lynn out of the game anyways, that wasn't an easy 4 innings for him -

That isn't a suspension, relax people. It's obvious he got ejected because of how he acted
