QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) I was thinking that his throwing session over the AS break got no pub whatsoever. You know if ozzie and KW liked what they saw, it would be all over the media. I dont think he is healthy either. Yeah, that 4IP and 1ER in Charlotte, just proves it... him out the door. He's done.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) Who? The only Newtons that I know are Sir Issac and Fig. EDIT: Google is amazing. It's an ancient Apple IPod like thing. It really was a precursor to PALM. They bought all sorts of stuff from apple. -- The Newton had this great handwriting recognition software.... But it didn't work. It just mangled the words you wrote, and put in whatever it wanted that sorta looked like what you wrote. It never made any sense, and often had humorous consequences, like a game of 'telephone.'

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Actually, I figured that the segue from Geordi LaForge to Robert Picardo was pretty noticeable. The was because my inner geek was showing. EDIT: Only we at Soxtalk would start a thread about a woman's titties and end up at Star Trek. This is not accurate... If you had a picture of a Newton with the phrase "Yes, you air a gook." it would be a different story.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) This is, of course, reinforced by the fact that these are grown men trying to get a brief glimpse of boob. And that I was able to quickly locate the images not by visiting your everyday search engine, but rather an engine devoted entirely to blogs, one of the geekiest subsets of the internet.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) I saw a luanch YEARS ago, back in the 80's when they were still new. Our bus got lost, so we were parked miles away from the thing. It was just a speck in the sky, but I have never encountered such a LOUD noise in my entire life. Those things are SERIOUSLY LOUD!!! Just amazing. I saw a night launch from an orlando area rooftop. That was cool. It was the mid/late 90's though, and space lauches were commonplace then. Thinking about it more. It was when Apollo 13 was out. I had no desire to see that movie, but after I saw the launch, I went the next day. ==== I'm guessing no launch today.

Giving your email to John Kerry is worse than giving your email to MLB I think I just bought a customized Karl Rove All-Star jersey.

Allen is just 19, so he's a Solid prospect to watch.... (even though I hate rookie league stats) The others all have caveats. I would say that Richard is the best prospect out of them. He's supposed to have great stuff for a lefty. He was a back-up QB at Michigan.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) Looking back, Ritchie turned out to be so bad that I still rather the trade didn't happen, but as was said before, the trade wasn't as bad as many think. I mean, its not like Kip Wells and Josh Fogg have amounted to much. And I have no idea what Sean Lowe is doing these days. No doubt about it, Ritchie sucked, but I don't think having Wells and Fogg around the past few years would have made much of a difference. You don't know how surprised I was to find this stat.... Since last ASB Freddy Garcia -- (15-6, 3.86) Josh Fogg -- (9-7, 3.84) Jon Garland -- (17-10, 4.32)

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) When they compare him to Mike Cameron, does that apply to his outfield range as well? I know you guys touched on his arm, but how well does he get reads off the ball, and his routes to the ball? Supposedly he is a very good fielder, and getting better... I saw him take a poor route in the Futures game. It wasn't one where he broke the wrong way or anything. He just bannana'd the route a little bit. No centerfielder would have gotten to the ball, so it didn't really matter. That's the play he showed me he actually had an arm. He picked the ball up at the left centerfield wall at Comerica and quickly fired it back into the SS in shallow left. It wasn't a lollipop throw. He got it to him quickly. I would say that it's better than Podsednik's but I've only seen him make one throw.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) That's awesome! And I remember the dress as being gorgeous! Hurray! Where are you hiding it or do you not care if Brian sees it? If he's anything like me, Brian has absolutely no interest in seeing it. He won't find it unless you put it on top of the remote.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) Who cares where your offense is coming from as long as it is coming? Nobody cares where the offense comes from, but like I said either earlier in this thread or in another one, we'd need an IF like Texas' to support that outfield. We're not that strong in the infield to support a weak OF.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) I thought of the Patterson comparison at first. Then I realized that Young draws too many walks to be compared to Patterson. Thus the Cameron comparisons. That and Corey Patterson recieved absolutely ZERO coaching from the time he left AA as a 20 year old until now. He hasn't learned s***. Meanwhile Young continues to show that he's learning. Hows this for power potential? Young vs. Thomas. Birmingham Age AB 2B HR Thomas 22 353 27 18 Young 21 322 31 18

ACtually, you can use the adblock extension for firefox. You just set it to block the URL of Kalapse's avatar, and it will never show up again.
