QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) I expect Bowden to go off the board in the next 10-15 picks. He wants to go to the Cubs, he's a Cubs fan. Actually I saw a piece on NBC with the two local kids who would go high... I thought he said he was a Sox fan, but he did say he would love to go to either team in Chicago.

"Play for the Red Sox, he may very early" Who the f*** is announcing this s*** YODA?

I predict that there will be a Jessica Alba thread created in the next 24 hours.

White Sox vs. Rockies 6/6 game thread

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) I'd be willing to bet Timo is starting in RF tomorrow night. That would be a disaster... I'm secretly hoping they go with Pods/Willie/Aaron across the board out there. They'd cover a ton of ground and eat up most fly balls in that huge OF. -
He might get the call in september.... Right now there's no reason to move him up the chain and have him play for a team who's well out of contention. I've seen him pitch twice. He's got a dynamite fastball, and a large frame, so there's a chance he could add to his already 97MPH heat. The M's have been careful with him, so careful they he only threw his slider a handful of times last season. I can only remember seeing two in the two starts I've seen. Still gets a little wild at times. The nearest comparison I would make to any current pitcher is Carlos Zambrano. He's gonna be a good one....

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) Great post. Thank you, seriously. This has been needed to be said for a while. Piss off southsider. The thread sucked and you know it. -
She said you're a touch overrated, you're a lush and I hate it. but these grass stains on my knees, they won't mean a thing

disembarking from the port with no mistakes of any sort moving south the engine running smooth officials were quite friendly once we drowned them with our sweet talk and bribed them with our cigarettes and booze

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) Ouch. That's pretty damn steep for a guy that isn't a full-time starter. He posted .289/.352/.447 and .298/.345/.441 lines with 14 and 17 HRs the last two seasons, while playing great defense. This season he's .305/.363/.409 in 150+ ABs... For comparisons sake, what would you be asking for if we were to trade Tadahito, who's esentially exactly what polanco is... .301/.350/.454

I think he's retaining water.... And storing it in that big melon of his.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) no, pods uses major paint. he has it on HUGE sometimes. Sometimes Scotty looks like the Ultimate Warrior out there.

Here's what I don't understand... As long as they show the commercials, they really aren't losing a thing by you watching it online.

QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) How many of those cost us the game? I seem to remember him playing first base the other day. I believe he made the last fricken out of the game 3 times in one week. None of them were blow outs. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) Why? Cuz Timo brings nothing to the table except some sort of Cosmic ability to be in the batters box in more key situations than he should? How many game winning shots do you remember Michael Jordan missing? Probably none. You just erase those from your memory. It's just human nature. I assure you that Jordan missed his fair share of game winners. In fact, I'd be willing to bet he was much closer to his normal FG% in that situation than you think....Timo is not clutch; he's memorable. There's a difference. The only asset that Timo brings to the table that somebody else on the bench doesn't do better than him is his outfield arm. Those 3-4 runs that he saved last year with his arm aren't worth the prodigious # of outs he makes. Somehow Timo gets credit for having the game winning hit the other day, but Willie gets no love for finding a way to bring the tying run to the plate... Would you have wanted Timo leading off the bottom of the ninth down two runs? I wouldn't. He can't get on base with any regularity.

Time to revisit the attendance concerns
Gene Honda Civic replied to sox-r-us's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Wahhh.. The attendance is only up 11% STFU -
So what?... The OF depth chart is like this without gload and Timo.... LF Pods Ozuna Everett CF Rowand Pods Willie Ozuna -- I haven't seen him play there, but I bet he could do it. Everett(god please no, but we did see Dye @ SS so you never know) RF Dye Everett Ozuna That certainly looks like enough warm bodies to fill out the bench... (Konerko can always play LF again)

QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) He ain't doing much better. It's amazing how similar the two 3-run HR's were

Doumit hits a 3 run bomb.... Same McCarthy, too many mistakes. Up in the zone.

Cleveland Indians@Chicago Whitesox 6-3-05
Gene Honda Civic replied to kman's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) I find it funny that Hawk and DJ berate Eric Wedge for having Broussard so far off the line, but they loved the fact that we had Timo playing there the other day. 3-0 good guys. "Best thing about that play, You're not going to turn two anyways"... That was about as impressive of a 4-run first inning you're going to see from a starter.... Everything was hit fairly weakly on the ground... I don't expect us to score again off of Westbrook. Make it stand up El Duque.
