  1. I agree with Jugger... the difference between Silva and Gassner is about 10 games in half a season :rolly
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) Why don't the Twins re-plug Joe Mays in the rotation? He's healthy, I assume, since he pitched in relief two nights ago. He was already in the rotation, they just skipped him the 1st time trough so they would throw Radke and Sanatana at us...
  3. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) We should make a group and call em the Pod Squad.... just a thought. It's been done already... San Diego has a group of "cheerleader" types who they call the Pad Squad. I can't find a link on their site, but here's an old pic of the group... They still exist -- Here's some stuff on them this year. http://www.gaslampball.com/story/2005/4/5/132745/7777
  4. Scott van Pelt just dropped a "BOOM goes the Dynamite" call on one of the Masters highlights.
  5. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) Not sure if 10 hits and only 1 K over 6 innings qualifies as a quality start, but he did only allow three runs. That ain't bad for a #5. If he pitches that way in USCF, I'll take it... Avoid the walks, Pitch to contact. The hits will come down, they had a bunch of INF hits. He'll get a bunch of DP balls to get him out of jams. The infield at the Baggie had alot to do with that hit total, plus he was all over the plate tonight. The metrodome had 17% more singles than league average last season.
  6. QUOTE(beck72 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 05:20 AM) http://www.al.com/barons/birminghamnews/in...65333176060.xml Pitcher Kris Honel - The right-hander pitched only six innings before shutting down the 2004 season with arm trouble. Now, "he's good as it gets," Shines said. Funny he should use a quote that resembles of one of the most overrated movies of the last 10 years.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) id really rather have us call up Adkins on sunday... dont want to overwork any of our starters to begin the season and beating Santana is a long shot anyways. Adkins would be on three days rest also... PLus he would require somebody to go on the DL..
  8. During the Cubs game they said it would prolly be Buehrle going tonight
  9. Damn that last game is gonna suck... Hopefully they have a 2 game lead on Indy and can just play Jared Reiner, Pargo, and Frank Williams. No use giving Indy an extra scouting report.
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) Ahh dammit. So I missed em then. When were they on? [so I can look for them on the next playing of SC.] I couldn't tell you where they fell in the show... They showed Konerko's HR and Arow's HR Then showed El Duque striking out the last 2 he faced.
  11. When I saw the title of this thread on the main page, I was sure it was a hi8is classic.
  12. What Rowand said... I said that I would start him over iggy in the game thread. starting over Pods is prolly a better idea.
  13. it was only a 2-run shot, but the point remains the same
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) My point is why take Iguchi out when he has been better than anybody in the lineup the past two days, other than maybe AJ or Paul The only reason I would agree with you here has to do with the carpet. Iggy is used to playing on the turf, and would probably be less of a defensive liability than he is right now on grass. I might have given him the day off vs. Cy Santana in a couple days, in favor of more of a contact hitter in Ozuna... I'm not really interested in criticizing every line-up and bullpen move at this point in the season. Ozzie is still learning what some of these guys can and can't do.
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) I know Ozzie is giving Iguchi a rest but do you guys think Willie's small sample size of at bats against Lohse had anything to do with it? Willie vs. Lohse 14 AB .286 AVG .375 OBP 4 Hits (all singles) 2 BB 1 SO What we've learned from these numbers is WH>PK... Willie should bat clean-up and Pauly 9th..
  16. http://slate.msn.com/id/2116402/ Really good article that inspects why other athletic feats have gotten better over time, yet the throwing a baseball harder hasn't. Some good links at the bottom of the article too.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) True, but shouldn't Jay be obligated to give us a good chance to sign him at a reasonable price...? He's gotta be better than Frank Williams, and isn't he on the roster? Yeah, we should be allowed to sign and trade.
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Hmm -- so Gio will start off at Kanny? What about Donny Lucy? Looks like Rookie ball or extended ST... He wasn't on any of the rosters.

  20. That's right, I remember when there were Crede for Odalis perez talks... Oh wait. :rolly
  21. Updated Big Board... Still needs some work, I was mostly guessing at positions on the A-ball rosters.
