QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) On Mondays, are the scout seats half-price or no? If they were half price on Monday's then I'd consider going. Nothing between the Bases in the lower bowl is 1/2 price.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 02:03 AM) Did anyone read Mariotti's column yesterday? Did I read Mariotti? LOL. No.

I think I put Arnie in there twice just for that game against the expos.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) 2-1 record... 2.50 ERA... $3.5 million dollars... You've got it wrong, the last part goes Josh Stewart, Arnie Munoz, Jason Grilli, Arnie Munoz, & Felix Diaz pitching in AAA... Priceless.

If Okafor wins the RoY, Gordon will get the 6th Man.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) BUMP Since you think he is greater than Shingo, I thought you'd like to join his bandwagon. Well timed bump. Nuke, While I agree that Shingo is not the guy who should be getting the ball right now, you're way to quick to call a guy on "sucking". -
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) I have never ever said that the Reds, Pirates and Brewers were better than the Astros last year. You must be mistaking me for someone else. If you can find that post, please show me. Prove it. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...21413&hl=astros

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) They kept Emil Brown over a waiver claim of Mike Restrovich. Good choice Mr. Baird. It's not like Restovich is doing anything... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6416

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) From: Ottawa_Sox To: Moronotti, Jay Subject: YOU You are a hack paper seller, in the esteemed tradition of Freddie Lounds. As such, you repressent a very poor example of 'credible': 1. Capable of being believed; plausible. 2. Worthy of confidence; reliable. Your bias and low brow pot-stirring is best described by the word 'unbelievable'.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) The modesty and simplicity of their requests amaze me given the demands of today's Pop Stars during concerts. Hell, the contestants on American Idol demand more than the Beatles ever did. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0418051beatles1.html My favorite is ashlee simpson's --- What to expect: "Ashlee will be performing with a 4 piece band. Orchestration as follows: Drums, Bass, 2 guitars, and pre-recorded sequences operated by the drummer" http://www.thesmokinggun.com/backstagetour.../asimpson2.html I never lip-sync. I just specify that there is going to be lip syncing in my rider. LOL

The Dodgers suck... The "experts" said so. 11-2 record be damned.

The crazy thing is it's not just the walks.... The formula for OBP is [H+BB+HBP]/[AB+BB+HBP+SF] The Sox have the most Sacrifice flies in baseball. The Sox have the least HBP in baseball. That combination with a terribly low walk rate, and an overall low average, spell ridiculously low OBP. The good news is they have been getting the sac fly when they needed it in tight games. -- The one-run record isn't 6-1 by mistake right now. -- Even though the Sox overall OPS is low, they rank among the league leaders in IsoP. And I would expect us to finish the season in the top 8 there, (so much for small ball). We may not hit the ball much, but when we hit it, it goes a long way.

I know you guys like to make fun of his for his rah-rah pieces he writes at the beginning of every year, but he's been great this season. Telling it like it is. http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/s...ls/11428843.htm

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) is he a lefty... because even if he is the better pitcher most managers seem to think that they need 2 lefties in their bullpen. No lefty, but check Cotts splits, he's got reverse platoon splits. So it's not like he's really a lefty anyways. -

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) Diaz is on the DL right now anyways if im right... even though I think he is off to a slow start in the minors I wouldnt mind calling up Arnie Munoz or hell why not Baj? As Dan mentioned in tonights minor league thread -- I think Josh Fields(the pitcher, not the hitter) is moving up the depth chart. he impressed me in the two outings I saw him in during spring training. -
Pedro Tunisia...

Takatsu vs. Mauer was a terrible match-up. Lefties have been Crushing Shingo, and last year Mauer was 1-2 with a HR vs. Shingo. The out was absolutely tatooed, but Carlos Lee made a great catch on it.

Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?

Who is the best.... A pitcher who only plays once every 5 days? Konerko, who is far from a help in the field? just because he plays there doesn't mean he's any good at it -
