Renovation Updates
QUOTE(Beastly @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) I thought that I saw the Scout seats as the only green seats in the park. Can't say that to be sure though. Renovation phase looked nice with the seats and the fundamentals section was kind of cool. Bleachers and Club level are green... The rest will be upgraded throughout the season.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) Mike Sweeney went 0-4, though. Plus, DeJesus and Gotay could put up impressive numbers this year. Berroa tore it up this spring after a sophomore slump. They are a really bad offense all things considered, but they're still better than Charlotte. But yeah, if someone were to make an argument that they have the worst offense in the majors, I wouldn't object. Yeah really Charlotte was a bad comparison, We don't have much top flite talent there. There is a AAA team out there that's better than them though.

Sox v. Brewers Pre-Season Finale 4/2/05
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) Well, Crede held Spivey at 2nd base and then threw out Lee at 1st but Spivey has some speed and was able to get to 3rd after Crede's throw. Inning over. 3-1 Brewers. I didn't realize they moved the location of 2nd base.

Oakland Starting Pitchers
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) Rich Harden was actually a 4th round pick in my league (Soxtalk League #3). He went ahead of guys like Halladay, Burnett, Zito, etc. You'd have to think that one of those three (Blanton/Meyer/Haren) could kick ass this year, and all three went undrafted. If I'm going after SP sleepers, I look at good offensive teams who play in great pitching conditions (Mariners, Athletics, etc). I have Madritsch and Haren, but no other sleeper SPs. Meyer is gonna start at AAA... Oakland's 5th if gonna be Kirk Saarloos for now.

White Sox season in preview
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) Is it just me, or is this sort of a "duh" stat? Isn't Merkin basically saying, when Contreras sucked, he really sucked, and when Contreras was on, he was damn good. I dunno, that's sort of the way I read it... No it's a DUH!!! stat.. When he sucked, he got pulled early. When he was good, he was left in longer, and was still good.

Dye or Everett?
Everett's going to be great for about a month or two. Dye will probably have better counting numbers at the end of the season, Everett the better rate stats with fewer ABs. Everett will make it tough for Ozzie to keep him out of the line-up, He should super platoon him with Rowand & Dye, replacing one of them everytime we face a RH starter.
