Rotoworld Projects Anderson to Bham
Gene Honda Civic replied to BHAMBARONS's topic in FutureSox Board
Rex, I didn't even count the players on the big league roster. I just wrote in the players who I thought would make the team. Thanks for that advice though. I'll try to keep it as accurate as possible during the season, but right now it's just so hard to project all those spots. (it would be like trying to guess the NCAA brackets before they came out.) -
to clear up the contusion confusion, contusion = bruise

QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) Crede's looked like s***. It's to the point where I'm legitimately surprised when he gets a hit. He looks like a late-inning defensive replacement to me right now. I know somebody that didn't watch today's game.

Clemens' Hummer Stolen
Gene Honda Civic replied to Wise Master Buehrle's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 06:32 PM) i thought the yanks took it back so the astro's gave him the new one. I think it went like this: Yanks gave Roger a hummer for Retirement. Roger conteplates coming out of retirement. Speculation ensue about yankees wanting the Hummer back. Astros offer to replace the Hummer Yankees gave him Yankees say they gave Roger hummer for 300th victory to avoid bad press. Clemens plays for Astros, keeps yankees hummer. -
First order of business, did I miss anyone?

So I posted the "Big Board" that I had been tinkering for a while last night. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?ac...pe=post&id=3396 The inspiration (who am I kidding, I completely ripped them off) came from over at USSmariner.com. They have what they call the Big Board (organizational depth Chart) and the "Future 40" which is a crib sheet for the Organizations top prospects. -- Mariners future40 -- http://www.ussmariner.com/features/futureforty.htm -- Mariners Big Board -- http://www.ussmariner.com/features/bigboard.htm So I set out to replicate the Future 40 too... I don't care about the number of guys who get listed on there, I just wanted a quick resource, where you could see how close some guys are, what are their stregths/weaknesses, what their ceilings are, etc... Something that would be easily updated too. So anyway... I started on the "future 40" about an hour ago. Here's what I've got so far. (attached at bottom) I'm gonna need your guys help and input to make both of these things as accurate as possible. We could get the 40 thing done fairly easily. The Big board is gonna take until after camps break and rosters become apparent.(I have no intention of even attempting to keep track of the Rookie leagues) [some of the info I have listed is repeated from another player because I was just copying and pasting] This is currently nothing more than a work in progress. I was posting it here because it's something I can't get done alone.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) Oh damn, they stole his orange Hummer. That pisses me off that his son has a Hummer in High School. I guess when you have that kind of money you have to spend it though. Clemens got the Hummer as a gift from the Yankees for his 300th victory -

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) Where exactly can I find hitting and pitching stats for ST so far? Thx. CBS Sportsline has the best ones... (with BB's and OBP and such) http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/teams/stats/CHW

Griffey's not old enough. I also think the Giants are capped out. The only chips they have are Matt Cain and Merkin Valdez

The only thing that got me was when the "doctor" shot the dog... I wanted to reach through the TV and punch that f***er in the nuts.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) It seems like Sweeney and Anderson are always involved together. The come up together last spring training, they both get reassigned this spring training at the same time, do you think they'll make the big leagues at the same time? I would say Anderson first, but that's me. At this point Anderson is much closer to the Big leagues than Sweeney. Sweeney should end up at AA this year at age 20, so he's one helluva prospect, but he's almost a full three years younger than Anderson.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 10:08 PM) Remember that the Boss once sent Jose to Tampa to start the year to straigthen things out with Billy Connors. That would be an option if he pitches poorly over the next few weeks, BMac pitches well, and Buehrle comes back strong. THat's a lot of what ifs so I see Jose pitching one of the first five games of 05 This is a very good point.. If I'm not mistaken(which could be entirely possible) he has one more option year left. (I'm not sure what his situation is because he was signed to a ML deal straight from Cuba) But he's only had 2 years in America, and both he spent stints in the minors. He should be able to be sent down one more time. -- Though that would make for an expensive minor leaguer.

It just the same ol' count. He has 2 wild pitches and 1 HBP today... Today he was lights out. Tomorrow he'll get rocked. Nothing has changed

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) Thanks for clearing that up... I'm sort of pissy right now. The Roundball Classic sucked, we left at halftime... My seats sucked, the whole thing sucked. Just to clear it up further.... Garland is in his second arb year this year. Next year would be his third and final before becoming a FA. Oh and the Roundball Classic = Stinker... I went to a McDonalds all American game, and that would have sucked too if it wasn't 1) free and 2) the highest scoring game in history.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) I read the Herald everyday at school, 1st period. Imrem is an idiot, I hate that guy. But this was a great article and for once I think he is dead on. This guy predicted Illinois would lose to Nevada, and is constantly bashing ILL. But this is a GREAT article. Guess where he graduated from?

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) The thing you guys are forgetting is that Garland keeps getting more and more expensive and he is not performing any better than a good 5th starter. He will make $3.4 million this year and will earn even more next year since he's only under a 1-year deal. Is a good 5th starter worth $5 million? There is a time to trade underperforming and somewhat overpriced guys -- when you can get young, cheap talent. The thing you're forgetting is Garland has the same numbers as Eric Milton. The same Eric Milton who the Reds gave the cookie cutter 3/22+ deal this off-season. If the reds value Milton at $7M+, don't you think they'd love Garland at 3.5

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) I did too, he's a fricken asshole like we didn't know that before. What the hell is he trying to blame on the media here? They're racist and don't want a black man with the HR record
