  1. I thought Iowa played a better game today than they did yesterday. They're in despite the loss though. They're RPI before the Wisky game was 35. Losing to the #17 team in the RPI on a nuetral court on a circus shot isn't going to drop them enough to keep them out.
  2. QUOTE(silver and black @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) It's called a FREE throw for a reason! I'd be interested in hearing your FT% in your JV games with the season on the line.
  3. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) that Little f***er missed...WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Haha, I hate that little cocky bastard and it serves him right.... :finger Memphis NIT NIT NIT Translation: "I go to Lousville"
  4. I've never had a desire to work in a nursing home, the same goes for the giants.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 02:03 AM) And is that Dean Oliver, ie the former Hawkeye? Only reason I suspect it may be him is because I thought he was with the Sonics for a short time, or maybe that was Golden State. That's the only reason I remember his name... I thought the same thing at first, I looked through one of oliver's books at the library, and found out the truth. Hawkeye oliver didn't seem to be the studious type QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) He is serious. Look for them to protest. fuel the fire, fuel the fire.
  6. This just in.... They've redone the scoring, Bulls lost. ------------------------ As for the 82 games site.... Cool stuff. Though now I know how people feel when I post some BP s*** or something. WHarris1, Have you read any Dean Oliver? He's the bill james of basketball. The Sonics hired him on as a consultant last season I believe. I don't really follow basketball obsessively like I do Baseball. But I would think that SABRmetrics are much more advanced than BASKETmetrics just on Sample size alone. 1) Baseball plays 162 game seasons, 80 more than baskeball 2) Baseball has been around longer. 3) with incredibly well kept records/game logs. 4) there's a type of zero-sum game in Baseball between the pitcher and the batter. There is no such matchup in Basketball.
  7. QUOTE(Fotop @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) First off, knocking off Northern Iowa isn't a "big" win. Secondly, you have to look at a team's body of work...and a majority of that body of work is a mediocre big 10 record, plain and simple. The big 10 is quite possibly the worst major conference this year and not being able to go .500 in it shows me something. I still think Pierce's absence is going to play a major role in them getting a bid. There are plenty of teams that have just as good of, if not a little better resumes than Iowa. I really think they need a win tommorow, but with their AD (Iowa that is) being part of the selection committee (maybe the head guy, i'm not sure) I'm betting they'll get slipped in which is horses***. I understand you're pulling for Iowa, but I can't look past that big 10 record. It's friggin' atrocious. So, in a logical world they would probably have to win tommorow to be a lock, but in reality they're probably in because they big 10 always has some sort of pull. And for those of you who say the big 10 tourney is intense, have you been to any round of the NCAA tourney? I went my freshman year when ND knocked off Illinois and it was the greatest sporting event I've ever attended. I went both days and saw all the games in the pool, and it was loud and crazy ALL DAY. The atmosphere at the NCAA is unmatched, IMO...it's ridiculous. TWO teams in the NCAA have more victories over the RPI top 50. ONLY TWO!!! Illinois and Kansas. That's pretty exclusive company. Hate all you want, but they've got the resume of a tourney team. As much as I hate to see them save Alford's job, it appears that it has.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) If they were 6th seed they would have homecourt too. hence the "who ever finishes 5th get's screwed" comment.
  9. I just looked --- if the playoffs were to start today, the bulls would be the 5 or 6 seed(I don't know how the tiebreakers fall), but they are only one game out the 4 seed and having homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs. (who ever finishes 5th get's screwed)
  10. They just took three points off ...... OVERTIME
  11. QUOTE(hi8is @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) im not saying this will happen, but if crede hits .295 with 30 hr and 85 rbi... i see crede taking a walk to another team to get the bucks... if crede hits .250 with 25 hr and 70 rbi.. i see the sox signing him to a 1 year deal just to give fields another year to develop who knows what will happen, but of course, id rather have crede have a breakout year and then walk... just because it improves our chances for this year... and who knows, we might even sign him... KW didnt say that he wouldnt ever talk to boras, dispite what your friends might tell you. that's unpossible. ----- Crede's hasn't even hit aribtration yet... Hell I think he's got options left... He'll be in a sox uniform in 2006 in either of those scenarios
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) Suprising. I wonder how many with 3 or less. I counted 16
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) The smile on Frank's face is awesome. For some of you more medically inclined people....for a right handed batter which calf would be more important in generating a swing? I would tend to think the right but I may be mixed up. For most right handed hitters I would say that the right calf would be more important. It's the drive leg. You generate yous power there. For Thomas though, I would say it's about even.. He has all of his weight on the back(right) foot as the pitch is being delivered, but does exactly the opposite at the point of contact. Often you will see him completely off of his back leg at the point of contact. He needs that plant foot to be healty. He might put more wieght on that front foot than any player in baseball.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Iowa pulling a huge chokejob. No that was Michigan state... Best Free throw shooting team in the nation.... They were on pace to set and NCAA record earlier... 2 at the line for the game... Clank.
  15. It's seems they're running a subtle cross-promotion that night
  16. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) TREMENDOUS.... I had to think about that for a second. For those that don't know, in an image from today's game, there was a shot like the one described above. To answer the question, I used a different photo.
  17. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) I have accepted your challange and shall slay the Rice Burners. So we all get to chose from the same players just have to pick below salary? SB yep, that's the idea.
  18. He just showed up, the TV coverage is akin to the OJ/Al Cowlings fiasco.
  19. I should note this wasn't me... It's just that I was sure that it wasn't original to the site that I found it at, so I just copied and pasted.

  21. I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart. FOR EXAMPLE: One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says "I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me." I said "WHAT??!! What was that?!" So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear... "You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man." She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?" Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep. The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said lets get a pair for each outfit. We went onto the jewelry department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you...she was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis. I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey." She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation she finally said, "I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier." I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't feel like it." Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled WHAT?" I then said "honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman." And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, "Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?" Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either.
