Caple staying at U of I
Gene Honda Civic replied to IlliniKrush's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Make him play drinking games with you.... Chug a beer everytime Illinois hits a three drink on every assist. drink everytime they mention Powell is an ordained minister... etc. you get the idea -
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) I was a big fan when he was with the TBJ & A's & had high hopes for him with the CSox. But I knew when his velocity dropped to mid-low 90's that was it. I blame Beane. He overused him that year & something happened to his arm. He pretty much dealt us damaged goods & I think he knew it. good argument. :rolly I blame Kenny Williams for Timo Perez's suckitude. His "injury" must have been from overuse. Blaming the GM. Really

CSTV March Madness package

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) How do you get multiple screens up to watch more than one game at once? buy another package? -
Have they gotten to Thomas yet? He has a game to play later. Ozzie's got him playing CF again.

I watched a little. My TV is Broke now becuase it has a shoe in it. Mr. Bunning, If you have a problem with Mr. Bonds, maybe you should invoke his name, use some actual evidence, not hide behind innuendo and misinformation.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) That's not true at all. Pitt, gtech, and Louisville are all good defensive teams. Louisville could be considered a good defensive team, they're long. They've got a lot of taller guys at sharter positions, but they're far from physical on the inside. GT? The ACC is allergic to defense.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) Damn, I must have missed every game that Ozuna played 3B in. How does he look at 3B? Did he make any errors at bad plays there? He was only there in one game... He might have fielded 1 ball... Nothing spectactular, but he didn't Jamie Burke the ball.

On walker: 1) he needs to continue his good spring. All things being equal, Ozzie would take Cotts over walker. Plus walker's more expensive (albiet by about 200K if he makes the roster) On Iguchi: I think that leg kick thing he's got going on with his front foot is going to be what delays him being ready. Timing could be an issue for quite a while. Ozzie doesn't seem too impressed with his defense either. On Willie: He was adequate at SS today. On Ozuna: He looks like he's on the team to me. 3B/SS/2B back-up.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) Wow that's erie. In 2004 I put almost the exact same numbers, just under 4500 on my car and just under 3000 on my bike. I turned 25 too, so when my insurance was due, the small milage and the age caused my my insurance to be cut in half.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) When prices are expected to reach near $3.00/gal in some parts of the US this summer it's a serious problem requiring serious solutions. Unless you can get the so-called green voters to give up their 18MPG SUV's for 30MPG cars there is much point in trying to protect that which is needed most. No problem... I put 4,500 miles on my car last year. I put 3,000 miles on my bike.

I saw a Frontline(?) around the last time they voted on this, and surprisingly, most Alaskans were in favor of drilling. Alaskan's are much more likely to take a resource like ANWR for granted than us. I lived in Colorado briefly. I woke up with a gorgeous view of the front range. After a week it was just another mountain. I'd pay just to see those mountains again. You don't realize what you have sometimes until it's gone.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) How is Louisville's defense? I think UofL can score with Wake, but they'd have a better shot if they can D up and make Wake work harder for their points. Wake doesn't play much D, so I think Louisville's D could be the difference. Pittsburgh is the olny team in this entire region that plays defense... And they play a very physical game, if the refs choose to call a close game, they'll lose every time.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 05:35 PM) 1) I'd rather see him hitting 8th for the Sox than Crede. He also doesn't run like molasses on a cold day. So you'd like 28yo .246/.319/.420 in his most productive season over a 26 yo .239/.299/.418 in his least productive season, Paying more for him, and giving up a player? Naive to me would be coveting a player not for what he brings to the table(not much) but for where he grew up or who he rooted for as a kid. Naive to me would be starting a thread everyday updating the status of a guy who's never going to play for the Sox and is fighting for PT on a 90 loss team. Naive to me would be trading for ANOTHER lefty bat.

QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) Then we'd better stop drilling for oil everywhere. But the sad fact is that we're going to have to damage the environment to a certain extent to obtain fossil or nuclear fuel. I'm game for that...

Wake me when you've got a hard on for a player that's 1) actually good. 2) available. (Littlefield has said that Macko's not going anywhere)

White Sox Player Will Be The First To Go?
Gene Honda Civic replied to AddisonStSox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) Proven major league hitter? After less than 150 AB's he's proven? nevermind that any team in baseball could have just put a claim on him through waivers twice in the last 6+ months. That nobody did tells you his trade value. -
This made me laugh
